I was woken up by the sounds of constant moving, as if there was a battle.
Hmmm?
Woosh! Woosh!
Just 5 more minutes....
Woosh! Woosh!
THUD!
Hm?!
I heard something crash into the tree beside me so I finally got up.
The first thing I saw was Kinoko constantly dodging continuous barrages from a...
What the fuck is that?
It was as tall as an average human man. It had reddish brown skin, along with pointy ears and nose. It's face looked as old as an 80 year old grandpa.
Basically, It looked super ugly and like a walmart discount alien filler in B*n 10 series.
[ Hobgoblin Lv. 46
HP: 67000/67000
Attack Power: 96000 ]
Oh... so that's a hobgoblin?
Anyway, the hobgoblin was a good fighter as it was able keep fighting Kinoko without the usage of skills.
Meanwhile, Kinoko on the other hand, has been using skills since the beginning and is still losing.
I mean yeah, that's reasonable since he's 13 levels below, but that's not the reason he was losing.
The reason Kinoko was losing was because of a tactic that the enemy used, The baiting tactics.
Kinoko always falls for the clear mistakes that the hobgoblin makes, thinking it's his only chance to damage him because whenever Kinoko was the one to retreat, the hobgoblin would be the one on the offensive but it moves too fast that Kinoko takes more hits than dodges.
I was about to step in as Kinoko was knocked back for the last time.
Crash!
However, Kinoko immediately recovered from his crash and jumped back into action.
I see.. His fighting spirit is quite strong.
However-
We don't have time for this as the blinking on my wind arrow indicator was becoming faster and faster.
So then... Tail Whip!
BAM!
BAM!
I used on of my tail to lunch it up and then used another on of my tails to smack right down.
The hobgoblin didn't have a chance to defend itself as all of my attacks were sudden.
It crashed on the ground, still in one piece, but ultimately, dead.
Kinoko looked at me in alarm.
[ What's wrong Boss? ]
'We don't have time, we have to go now. '
[ Oh! Owkie! but I was really looking forward to beating him.... ]
'You were the one getting beaten so I don't know what you mean.'
Kinoko hopped back on my back and pouter as I picked up my bag and began activating my Wind Walker.
'Now, now. There's no need to be like that. You'll get another chance in the future.'
[ Really? ]
'Yeah. What we're about to do once we finished travelling is grinding.'
[ Grinding.... meaning to keep killing strong monsters for exp right? ]
'Yep, now don't be so glum.'
We then ascended to the sky and dashed through the air.
'By the way, why were you fighting with the hobgoblin anyway? You knew it was much stronger than you and had higher level than you.'
'So why didn't you wake me up?'
[ Ummm.... well I didn't really want to bother the boss so... and also the son of a bitch was trying to steal your bag. ]
... son... of a bitch? Is this my influence?
'K-kinoko! Don't use those words when you're speaking with someone else, alright?'
[ Uh.. okay Boss! ]
-
We've been flying for about half a day now and all I could say was-
How much further?!
We've been going at this direction for hours! Are we even getting any closer?!
Sigh...
Meanwhile , Kinoko on the other hand, was just taking a peaceful nap inside the bag.
Oh well.
-
30 minutes later
-
'Boring~ Bo-bo-bo-bo-boring Burabububopboring...' ( D*rwin reference )
Sigh... isn't there anything else to do-
"Kyaaaaah!"
Hm?
I suddenly heard a loud scream coming from the distance.
It's on the same way of the direction I'm going so might as well check it out.
-
Ting! Ting! Clash!
Boom! Bam!
Once I got closer, I heard loud clashing noises of metals- Probably swords.
Woosh!
I finally got there and what I saw was one fancy looking carriage surrounded by people.
It was a very fancy carriage, as it had thin white coloured walls designed with golden coloured edges and markings while also adding red curtains to cover the window.
Some kind of rich kid's car or something?
Anyway, the carriage was guarded by knights in silver armour who were fighting about 30 above men in rogue clothes.. maybe bandits?
The knights were losing as they were overwhelmed with numbers.
Oh no... I think I know where this is going.
Why does it have to be so cliche?!
Also, the person inside that carriage is probably a powerful or influential person.
Reading anime and mangas, one thing is for sure.
I should not get involved in any kind of political affairs.
With that said- I'm out of here.
I was about to go on my way when suddenly-
"Stop."
A pristine cold voice of a girl resounded throughout the battle.
It caused all the men to stop fighting as they stared at the carriage.
The door of the carriage opened, and someone walked outside.
Someone inside wisphered loudly,
"Young-miss, what are you doing?! hurry! get back here inside!"
However, the person didn't stop and got off the carriage.
Seeing as now we had a better view of her, all I could say was...
Cool.
She had a long light blonde coloured hair that complemented her snow-white skin.
She seems to be in her teens, however the expression she had and the demeanor she releases were all cold and prideful.
She had beautiful sharp eyes that makes you feel like she's seen through you. Her face was good enough for her to be a child actress.
I can't believe this is actually happening, even her looks and personality is cliche!
"Stop fighting."
She said once more.
"Well hello there little missy-"
One of the bandits was about to say something but got cut off by the knights.
"Young-mistress! please get back inside your carriage."
"Yes, young-mistress! please hurry back inside now!"
However, as if hearing nothing at all, she continued to walk further until she was behind the knights.
"Was it my brother or mother who sent you? "
Hou? So its that kind of a plot.
"Haa? why should we- "
"So it really is them. I see... they finally decided to revolt huh? As if their blasphemous relationship wasn't enough."
Wait a second... blasphemous?
"Let me tell you all something, The Queen- my mother, has actually fell in love with his very son and they have been doing sickening acts on the castle whenever they have the chance."
Wait what?! Okay hold on- back up. So you're telling me- oh my... Really?!
So now this turned into a freaking soap opera?
"Poor foolish father doesn't even have a slightest clue on what's going on since a few sweet lies of my mother already makes him swoon."
She looks up in the sky, emptiness started to be seen on her eyes.
"Sigh.. she's really quite the enchantress, isn't she?"
The others were stunned while a few were crestfallen as if they already knew.
"Young mistress...."
...
Well.. that should be enough eavesdropping for now, I should get going.
[ Boss? ]
'Oh? you're awake?'
[ Yeah Boss! What's happening over there? ]
'Uhh... basically those men in rogue clothes are trying to kill that girl in front of the carriage while the men with armour are trying to defend the girl'
[ But... why are they trying to kill her? ]
'It's because they were paid to do it.'
[ Paid to do it? ]
'Yeah, it means someone gave them something valuable in exchange for them to kill her.'
[ What? That's dirty! ]
'I know, right?'
'But we shouldn't get involved since its none of our busi-'
[ Kinoko wants to help! ]
'Didn't you hear me? I said we were not gonna-'
[ Kinoko wants to heeeelp! ]
This is the first time this little guy acted like this.
'Alright, but tell me the reason why you want to help.'
[ It's because it reminds me the first time Kinoko met boss... Kinoko was being ganged up by many enemies and was about to lose but then Boss came in and saved the day! ]
Yeah... in a bloody way.
'Hmm... alright, I'll give you 10 minutes, their levels are around your level too.'
'Don't forget, these guys aren't the same as the monsters we fight. These guys know how to think and overcome.
And you WILL die if you messed up.'
[ I... I'm not afraid! ]
Alright then... your 10 minutes starts..
Now.
