Forsaken By Heaven

Additional note: Sorcerer will be used as the general and gender-neutral term while wizards or witches are male and female respectively.|

3rd Person POV

The airport on this morning was sunny and peaceful, there were gentle breezes carrying the sweet scent of blooming flowers and freshly cut grass. The sky is a clear shade of blue, dotted with fluffy clouds, and the sun shines warmly, casting a soothing glow over the surroundings. The terminal building was quiet that day and so it was spacious and well-lit, with a few passengers milling around the check-in counters, their movements calm and unhurried. The distant sound of planes taking off and landing adds to the serene atmosphere, creating a rare moment of tranquility unlike any other day.

And inside, a group of three were chatting as they left the check-in counter. One was an older man while the other 2 are teenagers who looked to be around the age of 17.

One of the teens is around 174cm tall, he has white hair, brown skin, and a black blindfold over his eyes, though when the older man requested it, he took it off a bit to reveal his brown-colored eyes.

"There you go Perseus, it's just us, you're only attracting more attention with that on." the older man said and ruffled his hair

"Dad, did you bring the permission slip yet?" the other teen asked

"Thanks for the reminder Shawn, here ya go." the older man then took out 4 envelopes from his pockets, "I asked for 3 original papers of that slip, took a while, but Perseus should be able to not get in trouble for wearing a blindfold, if asked, just show em and you'll be out of trouble in no time, if they need to call somebody, just tell em my name, Adam Silver, they got my number, I made sure they did.."

The other teen, Shawn, is around 177cm tall, and around the same age, he got white skin, platinum blond hair that was long enough to reach his neck with light greyish-blue eyes.

Adam is the older man who looked to be in his early 40s, he got dark brown skin, a shaven head, and dark orange-colored eyes.

"It's not everyday that you get accepted to one of the top wizarding schools in the world." Adam said "Your mother would be proud of you."

<Not really, especially, not after what happened that day...> Perseus thought

"It's fine and dandy, but won't we be stationed and trained outside the academy for like 3 weeks after every week at school grounds?" Perseus asked "So we're barely students."

"Yes, but you'll still be under the name of the top school in the world." Adam exclaimed "Besides, it's just patrolling, it shouldn't be that hard, and you are treated as proper wizards.."

"There's like only 4 schools, the top one ain't that different from the bottom one."

"Yeah, there's only 4 in the world, it's a miracle that we even got into one." Shawn slapped him on the back "Stop being pessimistic."

"There are bullies, there's tough training, and there are the written exams for a proper license to be even called a wizard..." Perseus listed "The pay ain't even that much for people risking our lives."

"But we get a lot of benefits once we retire, so look at it long term."

"Yeah, cuz the short term may mean death if we're not careful."

"Those angels? pshh." Adam waved off the notion "With you 2 geniuses, no angel should be able to touch you."

"Of course they shouldn't, we're still underage." Perseus mumbled under his breath "But that's not going to stop them..."

Life on Earth is far from perfect, it started when an angel from heaven descended from heaven announcing the wrath of God, who was dissatisfied with how humanity treated the planet. The angel then warned mankind that they will be attacked by the army of angels as punishment, though God granted mercy, God gave mankind a weapon to fight back in order to show God that humanity should be able to continue, and until God is satisfied, humanity will continue to suffer these attacks.

Afterward, humanity discovered a way to wield elemental powers. There are 6 that exist to be exact; Fire, water, wind, earth, light, and dark elemental powers, those who were born with the ability to wield them are then given a choice, train to become wizards and witches to help humanity fight back against these angels or continue to lead normal lives as others fight for them.

The world has been in chaos ever since, it's been decades, and the war between humans and angels has not ceased. The world has been divided into different zones based on the danger of the invading angels, the safest place on the planet would be at Titan Maximus (TM) Island.

A manmade island that is home to the only wizarding schools in the world, it is under the jurisdiction of the United Peacekeeping Front, or the UPF. Soldiers, regardless of whether they're wizards or regular people, regardless of race and ethnicity, are now all under the command of the UPF.

"Well we got basically a free 2 weeks off at the beginning of the semester anyway, besides you wanted this, don't complain." Shawn said "Besides, the islands supposedly have smart and beautiful girls."

"I'm going there for education, not for women." Perseus responded "Besides, I already hav-"

"Yes, yes, a girlfriend." Adam sighs "A so-called 2D one isn't real, you're not our ugly readers who fantasize about fictional characters, go interact with people for once."

"Yeah, but-" Perseus was then shushed by Adam

"We get it, wizards and witches are born attractive, but looks aren't going to help you if you're also a shut-in who read stuff on the Internet all day and does not know how socialization work, so when you get there, please don't show off about your imaginary girlfriend. Now go, you want to get to the boarding gate early so you don't miss your flight."

After a hug and a slightly tearful goodbye, the 2 left Adam and went to their boarding gate. After arriving there, they can see many other future wizards and witches around their age waiting as well.

"Our next 3 years are going to be hell, isn't it?" Perseus asked

"Absolutely." Shawn nodded "Well, let's go find a place to sit down, the flight is still 2 hours away."
