"Pant-Pant..."
This is tiring...
We walked a hundred miles in 7 days and I'm tired as shit. It was also night, and we're still walking.
I looked like trash and smelled like crap, and Ddraig looked like he just took a shower.
Since we've been walking, I bet I've gotten some agility points up.
I opened my status window.
Tti-ring!

So it looks like I've gained 2 levels.
The system tells me when I level up by sending a message through my head. It goes something like this.
[Level up!]
Hey, it looks like my stamina and agility have gone up as well. Well, actually, all my stats have gone up. Let's see, my strength stat was 10 when I was only level 1, now it's 20. How did it go up?
I was thinking really hard. Then, from the corner of my eye, I noticed a little exclamation mark next to the word stat.
Hmm, what's that?
I selected, and this interface came up.
[This is the Stat section, where you'll be able to see your attributes. For each level that is raised, 5 points will be added for all attributes except for perception. For each level, 2.5 points will be added to the perception attribute.]
"Interesting..."
"What's interesting?"
Ddraig looked at me with a confused face.
"Oh, it's nothing, just checking out my system."
My status window is invisible to others, only I can see it. That's kind of a good thing though cause if other people could see it, they'll think I'm weird or something.
We were walking through the Okapi Forest, home to the largest trees in this world. I think they're called Hydratykes. I think they got their name because of what they can do. Every time a branch gets cut off, two more grow back. It's basically a hydra, but it's a tree.
It also means free wood.
"Mr. Ddraig, are we there yet?"
"Almost kid, almost."
Cmon Ddraig, you don't need to lie. We've been walking through this forest for hours!!!
"And we are here?"
"We are?"
"Yes."
Ddraig moved the bushes away, and a beam of light flashed before my eyes.
"AHHHHH!!! MY EYES!!!"
"Stupid, no one told you to look at the sun."
"WHAT SUNRISES FROM THE NORTH?!"
"You idiot. Were facing the east."
"Huh?"
I took out a compass I had in my pocket. Turns out we are facing east.
"Heh heh, sorry my bad. Anyway, where's Vritra? I don't see any buildings."
All I saw was an endless ocean. The sun had already risen from the horizon. Not a single building was in sight.
"You're facing the wrong way."
?
Ddraig jerked my head to the right.
That's when I saw the buildings. Well, it was kind of like a huge fortress with multiple towers.
But this doesn't look like a place that dragons would live, more like for humans.
"Where are all the dragons? There should be a lot, right?"
I asked Ddraig curiously. Ddraig turned towards me and then started walking towards the fortress. I followed him.
"The dragons do not come to the surface, this place is only for travelers to rest in, and for Dragonoids."
"Dragonoids?"
"Human Dragon hybrids."
"I-I see."
As we approached the large metal gate, 2 figures in armor that resembled a dragon stuck their head over the wall and greeted Ddraig.
"Greetings Commander Ddraig!"
"Welcome back Commander!"
Commander Ddraig? Is he a general or something?
Ddraig nodded his head.
"And who may that boy be with you?"
"This is my friend's son, he'll be training with me until he is of age."
"Ahh, I see. Anyhow, you may proceed now."
Clang!
Ca-chunk-ca-chunk-ca-chunk~
The gates began lifting up, and then we entered Vritra.
***
As we strolled through the town, I noticed that there were a bunch of other races in Vritra other than humans. There were Demons, Nekos, Elves, I can name a lot more but these are the majorities.
We were walking through this place for a while.
"Uhh, Ddraig, where are we going?"
"You see, dragons don't live in this place."
"They don't?"
"This place is for the other races. Us dragons don't live in such tight spaces, and so we tend to rest somewhere else."
Well, that's kind of weird. I thought dragons would live here since they could turn into humans. Or maybe just Ddraig can. All the dragons that pass by in Draco never turn human.
*Another few minutes passed by*
We had traveled from this side of the fortress to the other side. We were now walking on a cliff.
"So where are all the dragons now?"
I couldn't see any dragons in the air since they usually fly.
"Maybe you should look down."
"Hmm?"
Ddraig was standing at the edge of the cliff, and he was pointing to the ground. I walked closer towards the edge and looked down.
"Whoa..."
There were different dragons everywhere. There were some with no wings, some with no legs, and some with both.
That's when I realized I was standing at the edge of a canyon. There was a massive waterfall coming from the ocean on the north side of the canyon, spilling into the lake. The lake had no end. Well, I couldn't see the end since this canyon was so big. So this is where dragons live.
"So this is where I'm going to be training?"
"Precisely."
I inspected the canyon. There was not one house or building I would call shelter.
"Where am I going to sleep? In there?"
I pointed at the fortress. Ddraig bursted in laughter.
"Of course not..."
Then he gave off a grim smile.
"You'll have to make your own."
...
...
...
"WHAT?!?!?!"
He expects me, a 4-year-old, to make shelter all by myself?
"Or you can sleep in the flower field."
He said as he pointed at a large flower field located in the canyon.
"W-well I guess I can sleep there. Wait, what about you? Where do you sleep? In one of those?"
I said as I pointed to one of the caves in the canyon wall.
"Of course not, those caves are too small for me to sleep in. I sleep in the fields."
Ddraig said as he pointed to the south where a wide empty field was located.
"Interesting."
Ddraig walked off the edge and landed on the ground like it was no problem. Ddraig looked up at me.
"What are you waiting for?"
He yelled to me.
"Are you crazy? I can't jump down from this height! It'll kill me!"
This dude wants me to jump from this height? Has he forgotten I'm only a 4-year-old? I also can't even fly yet.
"Then use the road."
"What road?"
Ddraig pointed to his left. I turned my head, and there was a road going down to the canyon.
"Oh..."
***
We were walking down the lake. Everybody greeted Ddraig as he passed by. I noticed that there were Dragonoids playing with the dragons. If I were to guess, they were probably their parents.
"Papa!"
A Dragonoid girl, slightly taller than me, ran towards Ddraig and hugged him. Ddraig put my luggage down and hugged the girl back.
"P-papa?"
"Fufu. This is my daughter, Mizuki. Mizuki, this is Lucian."
Mizuki looked at me with interested eyes. Mizuki had red strands at the end of her long black hair, probably taken from Ddraig. Her green eyes were more sparkly than Ddraig's. Like Tiamat, she also had visible scales on her arms and face, since they were the color of her skin. You would automatically assume she's human if you look at her from a distance. Otherwise, she's kind of cute.
Mizuki walked up towards me. She'd inspect me for a few seconds, then she started patting my head.
"Nice to meet you, Lucy."
Lucy?! That's a girl's name!
"It's Lucian! Not Lucy!"
"There there, Lucy."
T-this girl. I could see Ddraig trying his hardest to not laugh.
"Ddraig! Help me out!"
"Mizuki is a year older than you, how about you show some respect?"
That doesn't change anything, you old man.
Here we go, another girl that's older than me, when will I meet a girl that's the same age as me. Well, it's not like I hate older women, but sometimes they should understand the concept of personal space.
Mizuki was still patting my head. It was really uncomfortable because she was actually hitting a bit hard. Since she's a Dragonoid, her strength is probably 2 times more than mine.
"Since my daughter also sleeps in the flower field, she'll take care of you when I'm not present."
"What?"
"Now then, make yourself at home, I have some business to take care of."
FOOSH!
Fire came out from Ddraig's back, then scales were visible. Using his wings, he flew up towards the waterfall.
I looked at the flower field. There were other Dragonoid children too, not just Mizuki.
I walked up towards the canyon wall, there was a small hole in the wall. I tried crawling into it, but it was just too tight.
"Hmm, maybe if I made it bigger, it can be used as my shelter!"
I just need someone to shape it for me, someone with immense strength. I looked at Mizuki. She may have more strength than me, but she probably didn't have the strength to break a stone. Maybe a wooden plank, but definitely not stone.
After a few minutes passed, I heard this loud sound.
Thump!
A large white dragon landed down in the middle of the lake, it was taking big sips of water from the lake. This dragon was almost the same size as Ddraig, so when he landed in the lake, waves of water splashed almost everywhere.
Then the dragon shifted his attention towards my way. He spotted me and slowly approached me. There was this divine aura coming from him which made me tremble. His Oregon blue eyes glared at me. (Check comment for reference)
