『Game of the Gods』

Chapter 22: A Chat Group?

[Fake Flügel has joined the Chat Group]

[As the first member to join, you have been assigned as Admin]

"Why am I called Fake Flügel?" Yuki's thoughts echoed within the depths of his mind, a flicker of confusion and curiosity burning behind his eyes.

With a resolute determination, Yuki turned his attention to the task at hand. He sought information about this strange group. His fingers deftly danced across the screen, searching for an instruction manual.

Minutes turned into an eternity as Yuki scoured the digital depths, his eyes scanning the virtual pages for any hint, any semblance of understanding. And then, there it was. He had found the manual.

As Yuki's eyes scanned the instruction manual, the words etched themselves into his consciousness, revealing the intricate workings of the Multidimensional Chat Group (MCG). Created by an enigmatic entity named ■■■, it served as a bridge connecting myriad dimensions.

Within this vast dimensions, each participant was handpicked by ■■■ to serve as one of his representatives in the Game of the Gods.

Furthermore the instruction manual outlined three main sections within the MCG, each holding its own purpose.

The chat section implements a chat system that allows people of different dimensions to communicate with each other. Any language barriers are broken down as the chat group automatically translates the message into one that the user can understand.

The Missions section allows members to take part in missions set by the chat group in order to earn Dimensional Points (DP) as a reward. There are two types of missions: mandatory missions, where everyone is forced to take part, and voluntary missions, where one can take part if one wishes. Voluntary missions may also have a participant limit or requirements that the participant must meet in order to participate. Rewards do not have to be DP, but can be something else such as items and skills. When members complete a mission, time in the world the participant lives in will stop.

The last of the main sections is the shop. The currency used here is DP. In the shop section members can buy skills and tools from each other's worlds. Members can also improve their existing skills or fix weaknesses in their skills. The shop gets updated every time a new member joins.

In addition to the three main sections, the administrator of this group also has access to the admin section. In this section, they can invite new people if certain requirements are met, mute other members, and use other admin privileges.

In addition to regular members, this chat group also has supporters. Unlike members, supporters cannot participate in missions. Supporters are much more powerful than members. Each Supporter is a god-like being who has joined hands with ■■■. As the name Supporter implies, they exist to support the members of the group, and as such can send gifts in the form of abilities and items to the members of the group to ensure their victory in the Game of Gods. Aside from that, they can also create missions.

The chat group has different levels, each time the members level it up, new members can be invited and/or new sections can be opened. It is currently at level one and has unlocked the following privileges. Any kind of friendly fire is disabled, members cannot harm each other.

After Yuki had absorbed the contents of the instruction manual, his attention was drawn to a flurry of new messages that materialized within the chat group.

[All Might has joined the Chat Group]

The appearance of such an iconic name sent ripples of recognition through Yuki's being. His mind conjured images of the symbol of peace. Yet, a sense of bewilderment accompanied his thoughts, for All Might belonged to the same world as Yuki.

'Did the instructions not say multidimensional?' As Yuki was lost in his own thoughts, a message from All Might himself illuminated the chat.

All Might: "What is this? Did some kind of villain sneak attack me?"

The words danced across the screen, laden with a mix of confusion and concern. Yuki could almost envision the determined expression etched upon All Might's face as he sought to discern the nature of the chat group.

Fake Flügel: "Welcome, All Might. I am sorry, but I cannot confirm whether this is a villain attack or not. Like you, I too have just joined this chat group mere moments ago."

Just before either Yuki or All Might could pose another question, a new member made his presence known within the chat group.

[The Fool has joined the Chat Group]

The Fool: "Did the Sea of Ruins affect me?"

As the words materialized on the screen, Yuki's heart skipped a beat as he read the message, his mind caught between recognition and disbelief. 'Could it be that this newcomer this time truly came from another world?'

The combination of the name 'The Fool' and the mention of the 'Sea of Ruins' stirred memories deep within Yuki's consciousness. A fictional world flashed before his eyes, one he read about in his first life. Yuki's mind struggled to accept the existence of this fictional world. Yet, he couldn't dismiss the possibility entirely, not when he himself had been reborn into a world he once deemed purely fictional.

All Might: "What is the Sea of Ruins?"

Before anyone could provide an answer, another message from Fake Flügel appeared, diverting their attention.

Fake Flügel: "Klein, is that you?"

The Fool's mind whirled with a mix of astonishment and bewilderment. 'How did this individual recognize me? Should I feign ignorance and assume a different persona?' But the allure of the truth beckoned, and The Fool's curiosity outweighed any reservations he had.

The Fool: "How did you find out who I am?"

Fake Flügel: "Let's just say I know a few things."

However this response offered no clarity, but before further inquiry could take place, yet another message interrupted their exchange, pulling their attention away from Yuki.

[Black Star has joined the Chat Group]

The Fool: "Since you claim to know so much, what about this new member? Do you have any insights on him?"

Fake Flügel: "Correct me if I'm wrong, but Black Star, you are Han Xiao."

A flicker of surprise danced across Black Star's thoughts. 'Could it be that this system had unlocked a new function?' Puzzled, he looked at the screen of this group he just joined. 'The game I had played in my previous life had no such feature. What had changed?'

Black Star: "That is correct. Does my fame attract you?" Simultaneously, he couldn't help but entertain another thought: 'Are they players? If so, they may prove to be valuable resources for me to farm experience points.'

As the chat group buzzed with activity, several new members made their entrance in quick succession.

[Little Demon Venerable has joined the Chat Group]

[Scheming Shinigami has joined the Chat Group]

The flurry of messages that followed further heightened the intrigue surrounding their presence.

The Fool: "Spectral Soul Demon Venerable, is this your doing?"

Black Star: "Am I affected by the Hōgyoku?"

The messages appeared in rapid succession, their arrival almost synchronized. It was as if the forces of fate had conspired to bring these individuals together in this chat group.

Yet, amidst the growing anticipation, new notifications emerged.

[The Group has reached the maximum number of members for its current level. Please upgrade to invite more.]

[The Admin is granted one Supporter invitation ticket as a reward for reaching maximum member count.]

'Interesting,' Yuki thought, his mind racing with possibilities. 'Based on these names and the messages, I can already make some deductions about their true identities.'

Fake Flügel: "Calm down, Little Demon Venerable. This is unrelated to Spectral Soul, and Scheming Shinigami, this has nothing to do with the Hōgyoku."

Amidst the exchanges, another message emerged, this time from All Might.

All Might: "Based on your statements, you should already know all of us."

With a thoughtful pause, Yuki composed his response, aware that his words held the power to confirm or dispel the suspicions swirling among the group.

Fake Flügel: "While I cannot be certain, as making deductions based solely on names and fragments of conversation is no easy task, I do believe I have a fair idea of who each of you are."

All Might: "This certainly is an interesting Quirk you have."

However, the mention of Quirks left Little Demon Venerable and the others puzzled. Uncertain about its meaning, he raised a question.

Little Demon Venerable: "What is a Quirk?"

Yuki stepped in to provide an explanation, attempting to bridge the gap between worlds.

Fake Flügel: "A Quirk is akin to a genetic mutation, but fear not, Little Demon Venerable, such phenomena do not exist in your world. Think of them as special abilities possessed by individuals, like a person born with ability of a Gu."

'Interesting,' Little Demon Venerable contemplated, his thoughts tinged with a mischievous glimmer. 'Perhaps I should consider kidnapping this All Might and subject him to further research.' The sinister notion silently played out in his mind.

Black Star, fueled by his curiosity and a touch of suspicion, confronted Fake Flügel about his knowledge of the chat group.

"Since you know that much about us, you should also know something about this chat group, don't you!" Black Star wrote.

Fake Flügel: "Not really, I just read the instruction manual. I recommend looking into the settings and reading them yourself."

His words, though seemingly straightforward, left the others pondering their own understanding of the group's inner workings. As they delved into the instructions, seeking answers to their lingering questions, Scheming Shinigami couldn't help but raise another inquiry.

Scheming Shinigami: "I understand the basics, but that still does not explain how you have any information about us."

Yuki had already anticipated this question and prepared a response in advance.

"Just look at my name," he explained. "There, you will see a (Admin). When I joined, this group was still empty, and as the first to join, I was assigned as the group admin. Me knowing your information is simply one of the privileges that come with this role."

Though Yuki's explanation seemed rather plausible, it failed to convince all of the members except for All Might. Their keen intellect and discerning nature prevented them from easily accepting his words at face value. While they harbored doubts, they recognized the futility of pressing the matter further, suspecting that it would only yield more evasive responses.

After all it certainly is not that easy to fool someone that schemes against the entire world. This group just happens to have two of them, Little Demon Venerable and Scheming Shinigami. Meanwhile The Fool is a master in deception himself, while Black Star literally schemed against the Universal Civilizations of his world.

In stark contrast, All Might's unwavering belief in justice seemed almost naive. It prompted Yuki to question his place among such calculating minds, wondering if All Might's role in the group was merely to uphold the ideals of justice in a collective that committed murder on a daily basis.

'Perhaps I should tell All Might a bit about what this Little Demon Venerable does. I wonder what a hero like him would do, especially considering that we can not harm each other!' Thought Yuki.

Seeing that this repeatedly questioning brings upon them nothing, Yuki decided to help lead the chat group to some introductions.

Fake Flügel: "How about we begin by introducing ourselves? You may choose to refuse, but in that case, I will take the liberty of doing it for you. And trust me, you might not appreciate what I reveal. Since it's my suggestion, I'll go first. My name is Yuki Takehara, a high school student blessed with a considerable amount of power. While I may not claim the title of the strongest I'm certainly far from being the weakest."

Black Star: "I am Han Xiao, the Creator and Leader of the Black Star Army, and a Beyond A Grade Super."

The Fool: "My name is Gehrman Sparrow, an adventurer, but most people think of me as a madman because of what I do."

Fake Flügel: "Yes, yes, Klein, now get real or I'll kill you with knowledge you shouldn't have. You should know that your world is dangerous, so believe me when I say that I can kill you just by saying a few words."

The Fool: "My name is Klein Moretti, a Beyonder of Sequence Six."

Scheming Shinigami: "I go by the name Sōsuke Aizen, a Shinigami."

Little Demon Venerable: "Fang Yuan, an aspiring Demon Venerable."

Klein Moretti, Sōsuke Aizen and Fang Yuan opted for simplicity in their introductions, cautious not to divulge more information than necessary.

All Might: "I am known as Toshinori Yagi, the world's strongest Pro Hero and the Symbol of Peace."
