The road to Camp Half-Blood was peaceful. If you ignore the bloody screams of pain and death that came from the monsters that tried to attack the family of three. Even the Fates feared Katastrophe and Aímatis, the Fates! Those who tricked Typhoon so Zeus could defeat him, those who weave the strings of life and death feared the God of Destruction and Disaster, Katastrophe.
There was a myth about this that Amando learned at his school, a myth about the possessive love of Katastrophe and how loyal he was to his lover, and how cruel he could be. One day, the Fates predicted that a beautiful young princess would be liked by the God of Life and Blood, Aímatis, the young Princess Áplisti, she was beautiful! Not comparable to Aphrodite, but she was beautiful and loved by everyone and when she got the prophecy she thought she would marry a God, she was so proud of herself that she threw parties in the name of her future marriage.
However, what happened was that it spiked the jealousy and anger of Katastrophe, he first decided to be reasonable and just tell the girl that she shouldn't just assume everything because prophecies have more than one meaning, so he disguised himself as a mortal and spoke to her when she was in her gardens, the girl just laughed and clearly stated that she would get married with Aímatis and that she would take his love for herself, and that she would monopolize her new God husband. Her eyes were like her name as she stated this... Greed was all that could be seen in the girl's eyes. The mortal form of Katastrophe warned her once again, the form he took was of an old man to appear wise so maybe she would listen, but in reality, she ignored him for the fact that he was old.
He told her to not offend the Gods, mostly not the God of Disasters and Destruction by insinuating she would marry his only lover, but she did not listen and even dared to say she would get all of her husband's riches when they married for herself to keep it, because she wanted the jewels and precious rings, necklaces, and more.
Oh, how poor was her life. Katastrophe cursed her to always fall in love with a person, getting the most precious treasure, someone's love... Just to lose it later. She would be immortal, so even if she wanted to die, she wouldn't. She loved and always ended up losing the same person that was put through a curse too, that person was Lagnéio, who was the most lustful person in Greece. Not even Priapus, Zeus, or even Pan could compare! He was the son of Aphrodite and another man, who was the legacy of Ares. When he came of age, his lust was powerful, he could not be defeated on the battlefield or his bed. He grew more and more confident that one day he wished to have a God as his bed partner, so he set his eyes on the known most beautiful Gods and Goddesses.
He had to choose wisely, but he got with Ares, Aphrodite, and even Heracles and Dionysus once, but one day he set his eyes on someone he shouldn't have. He set his eyes on Katastrophe, one of the most handsome Gods of all, his beauty was even above Aphrodite, he was everything he was searching for a bed partner! He went on and on, learning everything he could about the God he so desired to share his bed with! He learned he was one of the most vicious Gods that were known to men, his ruthlessness to those who sought to hurt his worshippers was amazing. He even learned from Katastrophe's worshippers that their God loved art and creation, they were taught that things should be created first before they could be destroyed, and to always respect creation.
As he learned more, he grew even more interested in this God. He learned he was very loyal to one partner... Aímatis, God of Blood, Life, Healing, Death, Souls, and Killing, one of the most beautiful Gods that were known to men. His lust soon turned into greed as he wanted both to be his bed partners, to be pleasured by him, to pleasure him even. He would pray and offer sacrifice as if to bargain with both Gods so they could be his bed partners, but he was always rejected. He continued to harass both Gods until they couldn't take it anymore, Aímatis was extremely jealous and enraged of him. He cursed Legnéio to always have a miserable life, he would die, his soul would not go to the Underworld but rather go to another mortal body, where he would live a miserable life again until he died and the cycle continued.
Plus he made sure that Legnéio would be reincarnated as someone unable to have sex. However, Aímatis was still jealous and angry so Katastrophe had to comfort him before he destroyed half of the planet.
Katastrophe cursed Áplisti while Aímatis cursed Legnéio.
Katastrophe decided to unite both Áplisti and Legnéio to suffer together to all eternity.
Of course, this was the myth of Lust and Greed, two tales that intertwine and complete each other, which is very appropriate because Katastrophe and Aímatis, Zagreus and Klein complete each other. Oh, and both cursed ones? Well, they are still suffering to this day... Or so the myths tell, Zagreus was not that heartless and offered both mercies by freeing them of their curse, making them able to love each other for a lifetime as mortals before they both died. This was one of the stories that inspired Shakespeare's work of Romeo and Juliet, the tragic and dramatic life of a cursed couple that could never be together and only apart was... romantic in a weird way.
Klein remembers very well how Zagreus was fuming, he refused to do anything and Klein had to hold him back before he killed everyone. It was the first time Klein had Zagreus jealous of him, and it made him very excited that he decided to comfort Zagreus especially. Zagreus was not against it, but later he told Klein he preferred to be below him. Zagreus could not forget for a few years how Klein could be on top even when bottoming...

Author Note:
This is a short story about two figures that probably will never appear in this novel. But I liked the idea of making them.
Also:
Legnéio: Legnéia = Lust
Áplisti: Aplistía = Greed
Cool, right?
