Under Tianlan's lead, they arrived at an alley deserted of people

Zephyroth had a questioning expression but he didn't say anything, waiting for Tianlan to explain why they are here

They waited for two hours but Tianlan seemed very patient.

His breathing was even and unhurried while eating an apple

Just like that, another two hours passed. When the lights of thousands of households were extinguished, the entire city fell into darkness and silence. Only the rustling of the rain could be heard

In the inn, a figure slowly revealed his head.

It was a middle-aged man with tattered robe. His body seemed frail  and malnourished under the robe, but  Standing there, he gave off a dangerous feeling causing Zephyroth to narrow his eyes and taking an attacking stance

Though resembling a begger, the spirit energy fluctuations on his body were also very extraordinary and it couldn't escape the Zephyroth's eyes. He seemed to have reached Foundation Establishment realm

Approaching them, the begger's mouth moved but Zephyroth didn't hear anything realizing it to be sound transmission, looking at Tianlan he seemed to have understood the begger's words so he tossed a storage ring towards the begger who caught it and went back, disappearing in the shadows

After seeing that they're alone, Tianlan said

"Calm down brother, this is an informant I planted here years ago. He was supposed to monitor the remnants of an ancient family I discovered by coincidence, they have a unique bloodline which could be traced back to an Origin Emperor"

Hearing an Origin Emperor being mentioned, Zephyroth's  interest was instantly piqued

"Though I don't know the exact Origin Emperor, from the information I got it seemed as the strongest member of that clan is just at the Early Nascent Soul realm and so capturing the weaker ones wouldn't be a problem if we avoid him, we might even gain big-time from this" Tianlan said while having a mysterious smile enjoying the attention he received

"Come on, praise me" he said grinning from ear to ear but Zephyroth simply ignored him and disappeared returning back to thier abode

"Wait for me" he shouted feeling flustered as Zephyroth ignored him

Time passed by in a flash!

At thesame time, in the massive Zichen Palace, Zu Clan members, led by Zu Changman, gathered together. Everyone had a serious expression on their faces, and there was a trace of inexplicable worry and expectations their eyes.

Because tomorrow would be the day of opening their secret realm where laid the tomb of their ancestors

The conditions to opening it were very strict needing the blood of a supreme genius who had cultivated to the Foundation Establishment realm at the meager age of 12 and even so, only those beneath the age of 20 could enter

If he could could pass the test given by the ancestor,the clan would be promoted and receive more resources. The strength of the clan members would also skyrocket. However, if he failed they all would receive a serious backlash to their bloodline and the trial taker would die a graveless death causing them to wait for who knows how long till another genius is born

At this time while Zephyroth and Tianlan retuned to their assigned dwelling,a stream of light suddenly streaked across the night sky above the two of them.

It brought an earth-shattering pressure as it pinned them down making them incapable of moving

When Tianlan saw the light's streak, his expression suddenly stiffened

"I knew both of you couldn't stay calm, now tell me what are you two doing outside in the middle of the night when everyone is asleep" a voice echoed in their mind while the person hid in the void

Feeling the pressure decrease, the duo heaved a sigh

""Eh?? Elder Li, why aren't you asleep, don't tell me you...." Tianlan said while covering his mouth as if he discovered something shocking

"What nonsense are you talking about, get your asses back to your bed before I skin you to make a rag" the voice thundered in a irritated tone while a breeze blew the duo to their respective rooms

Waking up the next day, feeling refreshed and energized from a restful night's sleep.

Sitting down, he adopted a lotus position he closed his eyes, and began cultivating

Feeling the spiritual energy around him, his mind entered a state of calmness and tranquility, keeping an even breathing rhythm and an unmoving figure.
