And Then There Was Pain

After leaving the coffee shop, for a moment, the two walked in silence with Allen trailing behind, his hazel eyes tracing Kai from head to toe. Kai had a thin frame, but he wasn't frail, his bowlegs were strong, and his forearms were as well. Although he was handsome, Kai was pretty for a man, too pretty in Allen's opinion and his baby face along with those pigeon-toed feet made him even more desirable. It was no surprise that the Wilkins brothers found him attractive, they both had a type in common for sure.

"Are we walking somewhere specific?", Kai suddenly said, bringing Allen back to reality.

Letting out a soft sigh, Allen quickened his steps, placing himself along side Kai and forcing a smile onto his face. "Not really, it's not too hot this morning, a nice day for cardio, don't you think?", said Allen and Kai rolled his eyes.

"What'd you want to talk to me ab.…", Kai began to say, but Allen cut him off.

"How's Jinn doing? Good I assume, the guy never answers any of my text.", Allen chuckled.

"I wonder why.", Kai mumbled under his breath.

"What'd you say?", Allen asked innocently, although he figured it was a smart remark.

"It's nothing, but look, I have other engagements, so I'd appreciate it if you'd say what you need to say.", said Kai.

"Straight to the point, huh? No small talk? I mean, shouldn't we have some sort of relationship? We are practically brother's in-law Kai.", Allen chuckled again.", that pretty smile on his face.

Letting out a soft exhale, Kai stopped and turned toward Allen, who had also stopped when he noticed that Kai had. "Look, there's no need for you to be dishonest, it's clear that the mere sight of me bothers you, I'm not stupid.", said Kai, an expression on his face that Allen could not read.

For a moment Allen raised a brow, his lip twitching before a smirk followed. Glancing at the ground for a moment, he let out a sigh before he started walking again and Kai followed. "Well…to be honest, it's quite simple Kai, I want you to disappear."

Stopping in his tracks, Kai removed his straw from his mouth, "what?", he said confused.

Stopping as well, Allen pushed his shoulders back before turning toward Kai, "You heard me correctly Kai."

Rolling his eyes once more, Kai maneuvered around Allen and continued walking, "Don't be ridiculous!", he replied, attitude apparent in his tone.

"Is it ridiculous, Kai? You're an artist, you can go anywhere in the world, why not broaden your horizons?", said Allen as he turned to follow Kai.

"Although that's true, what you want has nothing to do with me.", said Kai sipping his drink as he walked.

"Let me just flat out say it then, you're a problem for Ar…", Allen began to say, but he cut his words short, and Kai stopped once more to turn around.

"Am I? Well, that sounds like a personal problem Allen, he should cut his losses.", Kai shot back.

"How can you be so inconsiderate, you rude little shit?!", Allen shouted, getting the attention of the few people walking by.

"You're asking me to uproot my life because you're insecure about your relationship with Art and I'm being inconsiderate? If you haven't realized it by now, I don't want anything to do with Art, he is my boyfriend's brother, that's it!", said Kai raising his voice, as he walked off, this was beyond frustrating at this point.

Biting his lip, Allen felt himself becoming infuriated, this was it, this was what Art liked about Kai, he wasn't one to hold his tongue, it was something he only did for Jinn, that much was true. Doing his best to keep his cool, Allen mustered up his courage and followed Kai to a red light, both of them close to the edge of the pavement. "You, say that, but the truth is that you enjoy the attention! How does Jinn, a reserved sweetheart that keeps everyone at an arms-length fall in love with someone like you! Not to mention you've also managed to capture the eye of Art, the most selfish shark in a world of full of fish! You forget I know what it's like to have both brothers wrapped around my little finger, Kai!", Allen finally shouted, his rational had gone out of the window.

"Maybe if you had of been the shoulder Jinn needed, and loved Art appropriately, you'd have a proper shot with one of them now! I don't need to play mind games or use my body to get what I want! If I wanted to take Art from you, I would have done it by now! I'm nothing like you, you poor excuse for a man!", Kai shouted.

"Fuck you!" Allen screamed at the top of his lungs as his anger had got the best of him, he had finally lost it. Without warning, his long skinny arms reached out and before he could even process what he was doing, with every ounce of his strength, Allen shoved Kai into the street, not thinking about the fact that their walk light was still red.

With a sudden screech of a car, and horns following, a loud thud sounded, and screams roared through-out the city. Standing there with tears streaming down his face and both hands shaking violently, Allen was in complete shock, just what had he done!

"So, you're saying that you and Allen fought last night and that there was an extended period of time you were without your phone?!?", Jinn said anxiously.

"Yes, it had to be him! I swear to you I have not talked to Kai in weeks!", Art responded, his eyes quickly scanning both sides of the street as he drove.

"What the fuck does he want with Kai?!", Jinn asked, his anxiety getting the best of him.

"I don't fucking know, but I bet they're at that coffee sho…", Art suddenly paused, slamming onto his breaks. "Fuck!", he cursed as he almost crashed into the rear of the car in front of him.

"Pay attention dammit!", Jinn cursed at his older brother.

"I am paying attention you asshole! Did you not hear that?", Art shouted back, but screams suddenly sounded up ahead, throwing both brothers off.

"Something's up.", said Jinn, rolling down his window and leaning his head out, but they were too far back to see anything.

When people in front of them began to get out of their cars, a lot of them gasping, Jinn quickly got out of the car, for some reason he had an awful feeling in the pit of his stomach. Seeing how flustered his brother was, Art did the same, both of them power walking down the street.

"Oh my God, someone's been hit!", a woman cried as she turned away.

"Are they alive?", another person said as the two brothers passed by and Jinn began to run to the scene, he couldn't understand why, but his anxiety was through the roof.

As they got closer, they were stopped by the crowd of people circled around the scene and you could hear almost everyone on the phone calling the police. "Jinn, wait for me!", Art shouted as his brother began pushing through the crowd to get closer to the front. "What the fuck is going on!?!", Art shouted.

"Some guy pushed another guy into traffic!", a random man answered, and Art's eyes grew wide as he too began pushing his way forward.

As Jinn neared the front of the scene, sirens began to sound as he approached the back of the car that had started it all and behind that car, about four other vehicles were single filed and crashed into the back of the vehicle in front of them. Pushing through the front row of people, Jinn stumbled forward. Out of breath with his heart pounding, he raised his head and his world completely shattered at the sight of his lover lying motionless on the ground.

With his lip quivering he approached, "No…no…no", he whimpered over and over again, tears began to stream down his face. "Please God no!", Jinn finally shouted, his legs giving out as he fell to his knees.

"Move out of my damn way!", Art shouted as he heard crying, he hadn't heard his brother cry often during their young lives, but he could recognize it anywhere. Finally pushing past the last row of people, Art's legs nearly gave out as well, that was Kai lying there on the ground and God there was so much blood!

As the EMT's arrived, they made their way through the crowd and immediately started working on the body lying in the street.

"Sir please give us some space!", one of the EMT's shouted to Jinn who was now wailing in a pool of his lover blood.

"I promise we're going to do everything we can, but you have to give us space!", another one said, tears in her eyes as she felt for him.

Pulling himself together, an emotional Art swallowed the lump in his throat, even though tears were streaming down his face. Lunging forward, he kneeled down and grabbed hold of his brother, "Give them some space, Jinn!", said Art, his voice shaky.

"God no, please, please!", Jinn continued to wail.

"Pull yourself together Jinn, you have to let them help him!", Art shouted and for a moment, the two brothers locked eyes, Jinn able to see that Art was just as emotional as he was. "You're wasting time!", Art shouted again, and Jinn was able to get a grip on himself as he allowed Art to help him up out of the way.

"Checking vitals!", one of the emt's said aloud, but she began shaking her head. "Get me the defibrillator now!", she yelled, and her partner quickly pulled it from the bag. "Charging!" the guy yelled and the other EMT quickly cut open Kai's bloody shirt.

Hearing that Kai's heart had stopped, Art squeezed his brother tight, but Jinn's poor heart couldn't take anymore as his eyes slowly rolled to the top of his head, his legs completely giving out. "Please, don't do this!", Art softly pleaded to the man in the sky, he had never cared to have much of a relationship with God, but right now he didn't know what else to do. "Hang in there, Jinn!", he cried while he struggled to hold his young brother up.

"We gotcha kid.", said another man, stepping into to help as Art who didn't have the strength right now almost went down with Jinn.

"Clear!", a slow dragging voice shouted, that being the last thing Jinn heard as he passed out.
