CHAPTER ONE
Chef Thomas
Today marks the one week of me sitting at home and stuffing my face with everything possible in my reach which always is chocholate and despite the fact that I go on a run every morning to not gain weight I end up eating chocolate anyway.
Making my down and in kitchen where mom and dad would be either eating breakfast or eating each other faces but i have already come to the point where i can do nothing but to live with it.
"Mom Dad you guys decent?" I ask with my eyes close standing before the door making sure I don't walk in on them kissing
"Oh honey sure just let me get thi-" i hear rustling when mom smack dad making hik cry out in surprise and me in relief for parents they are more chill then me
"Come here you sweet pie we were waiting for you to join us " opening my eyes i smile at them brightly dad blue eyes crease at the end with the smile he is holding making him look younger and youthful
For a man who is in his early forties dad is very smart looking having light muscles and huge built with light brown hair which i inherited from him and whereas mom she is on petite side but still tall enough to clash dad 6'1 frame with her 5'6 and me being the shorty of the family which they like to treat as a baby not that i am complaining.
Walking towards them and kissing each of them on cheeks we start eating breakfast which consists of pancakes and a bowl of fruits with yogurt for me.
"So dad.." i am close to my dad despite having a friendly relationship with mom, dad is where i go for after what happened three years ago
"Um so now can i come with you guys to work please don't say no i am free and i get really bored around the house alone " i tried to give him puppy eyes and look at mom where she is watching dad trip over his words trying not to give out a smile
"Fine but you are going to work under Thomas and I don't want to listen anything else got it" i nod at him eagerlu anything to get away from the creepy loneliness lurking inside tje four walls of our house making me sctrach my skin out raw and bleed till it gets numb where i can't feel anything
After having breakfast i washed the dishes and run up in my room to get ready as mom and dad leave together around ten but as today i am gonna go with them and I don't want them to get late because of me i change into the black jeans and crew neck cream sweater with small details on it and pair it them with ankle boots and a beanie because the weather in Canada is unpredictable even when its just November.
"Ready lets go" walking out side the house i jump in the back seat of the car making mom chuckle at my enthusiasm I can't wait to finally work.
After ten minutes drive mostly because of traffic we made it to the restaurant a building standing with mirror walls and bright sign of De light' in the center , walking inside the restaurant is not fully packed but people are here for takeaway breakfast or having breakfast with their families i smile at the older couple sitting near the window waving at them before walking inside the back room where all the magic happens with clatter of pans and string english accent bright words from Chef Thomas
"Bloody hell get out of my face " Chef Thomas ever so bright person who grace the world earth curse all the way and throw the burning pan in the sink before opening the faucet
"Good morning everyone" dad makes our appearance notify as every man in the room turn towards us and greet us morning mom left saying she has some work in the front and to talk with Lucy while i stand still besdie dad
"Now everyone meet my daughter Elara and Elara the people you should know if you gonna work here are present in this very room and there is your Chef Thomas who you gonna work with" dad said as everyone introduce themselves while Chef Thomas stand there with a frown
"Now enough of the introduction i migjt as well leave you all to work , good luck sweetie " with that dad walk out of room making me look at everyone who just pass me a smile getting back to work as Chef stands there looking at me
"Move you arse girl we need to prepare food for the waiting people outside move more" with the wave of spatula i grab the apron from the hook amd tie it behind me joining him next
After hours of standing on my feets and running everywhere with dishes and serving my feets are killing me but at the end its all good except the foul mouth of Chef Thomas
"No no not that ugh okay let me show you"
"I am Chef for you and you better start picking up the things i am not teach you or you better go back home"
"Bloody !"
"Okay enough lunch break!" Thats not all is he said to me but what can i do more when its just my first day of work here and he is on me already rolling my eyes at him i walk out of the back room and into the front where none other than Xan is talking to my mom eating a pastery
"Oh here she is you both catch up i will go look on Chef if he is still willing to keep his job or not" i frown at mon making him tap my cheek and walk off while i huff and slouch on the stool making my feets cry out in relief
"Tired already" Xan said while licking the cream off his finger making me swat his hand away from my face when he tried to shove his sliva coated fingers on me
"You have no idea Chef kept me on my feets the whole time not even giving me the break to go and use washroom" pouting i take the plastery from him
"No surprise you lool like shit if you have a time to catch yourself im the mirror you would be horrified" i smack his arm making him chuckle at my despair
Xan is a mix with light tan skin and hazel eye and curly set of dark colored hair, with muscles and a frame of 6'1 he is pretty good looking if not he is the eye candy no wonder the girls oggling behind him
"So you ready for the movie night you know you can't bail " i roll my eyes if i can or will bail our movie night over anything
"I am in when Dream and Fin are gonna join us? " Putting the lining aside and i ask him as he did the same
"They are gonna be there around seven mych time for us to go and shop for some munchies" wiggling his eyebrows
"Sure i will be dome here by six i still have two hours to go " i frown thinking of two more hours working under Chef Thomas
"I will pick you up just call me when you get off okay i might run to work now you too good luck lara" kissing my forhead he walk out before i can tell him to not call me lara again
Sighing i walk back in the doom already dreading my next two hours so much for being excited over this. Now I can't back out.
