Invitation Card
As the world was in an uproar from the consistent events, Kai and I sat on a few recliners in the fenced backyard of the safehouse. We watched as dragonflies slowly maneuvered in the air while landing on the water lilies on a small pond at the far side. They would occasionally chase each other all over the compound, even the pool wasn't spared.
As my mind wandered, I pulled the last drop of beer from my bottle before taking out another from the cooler beside us.
"You need a refill?" I took another bottle and handed Kai as she chugged it down with a rosy face.
As we spent more time together, I realized maybe I was corrupting the lady. She just liked the Earth's cuisine so much that anything I introduce to her, she becomes stoned to the heart.
