The thing that interfered was Noah who could understand what the gem was and if he is right letting the goblin chief eat it would prove to be something tragic for him who is the enemy. Besides, he was being an opportunist and while the enemy was at his weakest he had to strike, so he moved dashing and hitting the gem(core) with his sword throwing it 300 meters away.
The goblin chief didn't realize Noah's interference because he was in a weakened state and it didn't feel threatened in any way meaning it was already the humans' intention to hit the Gem. The moment it got back into reality the goblin chief got enraged and picked blood by the rage, looking at Noah with resentment, this human not only killed his subordinates it even dared to interrupt this decisive moment, if it could eat the Gem it would become stronger although the gems weren't that rare their effects depended on the creature holding the gem and every creature able to use magic or the so-called skills had one to be able to filter the nature power into the desirable element, but that's also why the Deer had to gather energy or nature power and then release what is stored.
These cores were something that creatures want the most before natural treasures because every creature that is able to use magic has a core, if a creature that isn't able to use magic consumes one it has the chance to gain a core of its own since it depends on the amount of energy that it can condense, this will be a filter to then use the spells, elements depend on the bloodline, and consuming cores will both give you the chance to get the bloodline of the creature but this situation is very very rare ( the chances go up the more you consume the cores of the same creature going up by 0.0001 for each consumed from a start amount of normally 0.001) the amount will vary depending on the creatures, a dragon bloodline will only go up by 0.0001 when u consume 10 cores the weaker the creature the lower the amount to increase, or it can refine your own bloodline which will refine both bodies and develop your core both enabling the use of magic if it couldn't or it would allow the individual to gather more energy in a set amount of time.
For example, if a Dragon died and a worm had the opportunity to refine the energy the worm would have the chance to both change bloodline or would have the opportunity to evolve and refine the body becoming a new existence not to be messed with, although not at the same level of the original if it consumed a set amount of dragon cores it could even exceed them, obviously this would happen but a worm consuming the core of a dragon would make the worm blow up since the energy contained in the dragon core would exceed the worm by too much.
Obviously this happens but normally stronger creatures don't bother to go and hunt weaker ones since it wouldn't help that much and they could refine the energy by meditating or something, the only benefit would come from stronger creatures or depending on both bloodline and core capacity.
So with all this said how couldn't the chief be enraged? It's like taking a sweet from a child's hand, but this time instead of crying poor goblin chief got enraged, although it had overextended himself he still could muster some energy and kill this fly.
The goblins that dodged the last attack of the Deer needed some time to recover so right now it was Chief vs Noah, Noah confidence came from the fact that at the moment the goblin in front of him was weakened so he didn't want to give this goblin time to recover and launched another attack at him or so people thought, after charging halfway he changed direction and ran to the Core that was laying in the ground, putting it on his inventory, with this out of the way he decided to really confront the chief.
He did this mainly because nothing granted him that the other goblins wouldn't go and pick up the core or consume it themselves since the chief was so eager to take it, it had good use, besides he didn't want to find out what would happen if one of them consumed the core.
This time the chief didn't give Noah the opportunity to do the first move since this human as proved to be a shrewd one, it decided to engage and take back was his, a power full swing came and the black sword reacting to his owner rage began emitting a faint red color.
Noah didn't expect the Chief to still be so fast so in a panic he decided to block it with his sword, this proved to be a bad idea because the moment both swords clashed poor [Rusty Sword] bent, and he flew a couple of meter in back.
Looking at his sword he couldn't help but a curse, 'How is this even fair?' but he didn't throw it away, after all, it is the only thing he has to use, he tried to buy another one in the shop but wishful thinking because he couldn't access the shop if he was in combat, no exploits.
But looking at this situation he really was in the borderline of life and death, so he decided to do what the goblin chief was going to do, it might be his only chance besides he didn't know if he would get side effects or so he believes.
He picked the Core from his inventory and without hesitation he consumed the core, goblin chief was trying to stop him but alas he was too late.
The moment he consumed it a shockwave that blasted the goblin chief 300 meters away came and even killed some of the goblins that didn't expect this outcome, shockwave followed by shortwave, this scene could be considered mighty but for Noah, he didn't get to see this moment he was in extreme pain the itching feeling all over his body, wanting to just scratch it all off but he couldn't move his body every single second that passed felt like years, this feeling only grew until he felt like he was being impaled by spears then torn apart, then he felt his body burning.
For the goblins they trembled at this scene, a white light was embracing him while the shockwaves kept going, the light only grew stronger, but Noah's body was going through a change before he was 5'7'' (170cm) and had brown hair and brown eyes and he was plain borderline play, but what the light was doing was that it was cleansing his impurities, not by much, but the noticeable thing was that he was in the line of overweight for his height ( Around 100 kg) and he grew to 6''00 (183 cm) his usual brown hair got mixed with a little bit of white and his eyes shone with a red color like the deer, the odds for this to happen, he managed to trigger the Bloodline inside the core, this change was something Noah didn't know since he didn't know the species of the Deer but that particular Deer was an infant and it was called [Light Deer] they are unable to use their own element in infancy but before reaching maturity they are able to release spells of other creatures and cores they consume, thats why it had to absorb energy before using it, the properties were different then its own core element. But this was something Noah didn't know or couldn't care less this pain was something he would rather not go through.
After 1 minute after he consumed the [Light Deer Core] he felt his consciousness fade, he was fighting to stay awake, after all, he was in the middle of a dangerous situation, so he had to persist.
