Reincarnation and the Testing of Powers

"Ahhhh, what a headache," said a 16-year-old man as he got out of bed. He wasn't an ordinary person; he was a human reincarnated into the DxD world.

"Why does this reincarnation have to be so headache-inducing?" he said, then stood up and looked at himself in the mirror in his room.

"Hmm, yes, this is quite good. Just as I wanted: long black hair and emerald green eyes. But I wish I could have chosen the time of my birth. Still, the current time isn't bad; the only problem is that I'm in England instead of Japan."

"The essence and wish I chose are also quite good." After saying this, Ezekiel began to explore his massive mansion. The house was excessively large, with more rooms and underground floors than necessary, just as Ezekiel had wanted.

(You can refer to Episode 0 for the Essence and Wishes.)

Mansion:

Ezekiel spent 2 hours exploring the underground floor of the mansion. Frankly, he was surprised; this place was even bigger than he wanted. "Luckily, the mansion cleans itself automatically; otherwise, cleaning this place would be quite difficult." Ezekiel headed to one of the kitchens to prepare something with the materials in the house, but he found the fridge empty.

"Damn it, didn't the guy who sent me here put any food?" Ezekiel sighed and went to his room to change, but there was nothing in his wardrobe.

"Damn it, there's no clothing either, nothing but my pajamas." Ezekiel looked around and saw a wallet and a phone. When he checked the wallet, he found an ID and a bank card. When he checked the phone, he saw that there were some changes, as the man who sent him here had said. Despite the original series taking place in 2008, the phone screen showed 2022, and the phone was quite modern.

"First, let's see how much money we have; considering the size of the house, it should be at least 1 billion," he said, and entered the banking app on the phone to check his balance. His eyes widened at what he saw.

"Hahaha, 100 billion dollars! Damn, since it's 2022 now, I'm the 9th richest person in the world. While I don't think normal human money will be very effective in a supernatural world, it's still very nice." Ezekiel then ordered a bunch of suitable clothes and some food.

1 Hour Later

After eating, Ezekiel began to think about his future plans. "Hmmm, while being reincarnated into another world is nice, I don't have any goals or family. I'm used to not having a family; after all, in my previous life, my family didn't care much about me anyway. But living without any purpose is not very appealing." Ezekiel thought about this for a while and then made his decision.

"Alright, whatever. If I'm going to have a goal, I must first deal with this Outer God thing; otherwise, I won't have a future. The most logical thing would be to prevent Trihexa's release. Even if I fail, I should have a plan B, but first, I need to get stronger," he said and went to the third underground floor of the house.

Ezekiel opened the massive door of the mystical library and was amazed by the sight. The inside of the library was filled with countless books and appeared to have been expanded with spatial magic, as it was as big as the mansion itself. Flying bookshelves moved at his thought, and books came to him as he wished.

Library:

Ezekiel stopped marveling at the library and immediately requested the basic elemental books to come to him. A bookshelf appeared in front of him. Ezekiel didn't know the language there, but somehow he understood it. Ezekiel spent the next week there, sleeping only for meals.

"Finally, after a whole week, I finished the entire library. Honestly, the essence of the Archmage is a wonderful thing. I remember everything perfectly now. I even have many ideas for new spells, but first, I need to make a development plan and stick to it." Ezekiel began to think about this.

After thinking for a while, he prepared a plan in his mind.

"Yes, this is good enough. First, I'll do the Saitama training. With the essence of Void, this should be effective for me, and since I have magic, I won't have a hair problem, hopefully. Second, I'll spend 2 hours every day here reading books for knowledge, and then I'll learn the spells here and develop them with my Archmage essence. I'll also create new spells. Third, close combat. Since I have the essence of the Craftsman, I'll reach a minimum proficiency level with every weapon, but I'll especially improve myself with swords and spears. However, my main focus for close combat will be kung fu from the Kung Fu Panda movie."

After deciding on his development plan, Ezekiel decided to develop some skills that would be useful in the future. These were:

The three types of Haki: because it's very functional.Taju Kage Bunshin No Jutsu: because it's great for speeding up training.A pocket dimension only he could access. He would store his weapons there and throw them like Gilgamesh, but unlike him, there wouldn't be any food or other items in the pocket dimension. However, thanks to a spell array he planned to set up inside the pocket dimension, all the weapons stored there would passively improve continuously.Super-sonic flight ability that eliminates friction and inertia, allowing for sudden stops and changes in direction in the air.Shunpo.Accelerated thought and multi-thinking.A type of scanning ability that provides information about the opponent or targeted thing.Inventory to store food and items.

For now, he decided to develop these abilities first and then started training.

1 Week and 1 Day Later

Ezekiel followed his training plan exactly during this week. His physical strength increased, and his knowledge of magic deepened. He could now use all elemental magic at least at a basic level. During this week, he only developed the Armament Haki among the abilities he decided to develop, but only at a basic level. Besides that, he decided to turn one of the underground rooms into a forge, and he was now forging weapons there.

"Hah hah hah," the sound of Ezekiel's deep breaths echoed in the room, but he was looking at the sword in his hand with shining eyes.

"Yes, it's finally finished. I spent the whole day on this, but it was worth it. I've made you stronger than the original I saw in the series. Demon King's Longsword, with your passive white flame ability alone, I can destroy a four-story building without infusing any mana."

After looking at the sword for a few more minutes, Ezekiel took the sword to a different room where his other weapons were stored. During this week and one day, Ezekiel made a total of 10 weapons, including the one in his hand. The best of these was the Demon King's Longsword, followed by the shadow whip that extended with the mana infused into it. The others were some basic element-infused weapons he made for practice.

"Huff, my development this week was quite good. With the Demon King's Longsword in hand, I should be able to match ultimate mid-level beings. At least according to the books I read in the library, my destructive abilities should definitely be at the ultimate mid-level. But things might change with their ability to fly and their combat experience."

After placing the sword in the weapon storage room, Ezekiel left the underground floor and went to the kitchen in the mansion. He ate something, took a shower, and, after putting on his pajamas, lay down on his bed.

"Hah, tomorrow I should go out and participate in some battles. I haven't left my mansion on the outskirts of London much. I should go and check out the city, but first, let's sleep."

Dear readers, until tomorrow, I will publish a supplementary chapter about power levels. In DxD, power levels are not very clear and specific, so I will define them myself based on the original but in a more precise and detailed manner.
