Chapter 3

I start to take some of the boxes into one room when I heard someone at the front door.

"Did you forget something, mom?" I asked while I walk into the main room, only to meet the dark eyes of someone else.

"K-Kageyama?"

"What are you doing here?" I ask and he looks around the place

"I'm moving in, I thought whoever was living here before was suppose to be already moved out." He says and I shake my head

"I think you are on the wrong floor, I moved in here today," I say and he looks at a piece of paper

"3rd floor, apartment number 201... I'm in the right place. Maybe you are on the wrong floor." He says and I sigh

"How would I have gotten in here with a wrong key,"

There was a knock at the door and Kageyama opened the door to reveal people with boxes.

"Um go and set them over there." He says pointing at the kitchen

"Hey wait!" I say trying to stop them but they ignore me instead, so I walk over to Kageyama who was holding the door for them.

"What do you think you are doing?" I ask in an annoyed tone and he pays the men before while they brought the last box inside

"Letting them get their job done so they can go home." He says closing the door, before walking into the kitchen.

"Where is your lease?" He asks digging through a box

"Hold on I will go and get it," I say while I walk into my room and grab it before returning to the kitchen.

"See I am in the right place," I say showing him, and he sets mine down next to his then began to compare the two.

"They are the same." He says while he pulls out his phone and dials a number, only to go to voicemail

"We could go to the place." I suggest and he nods while grabbing the paper, before walking out the door and I quickly follow behind him.

'CLOSED FOR GOOD' was written all over the shop and I sigh "What now?" I ask wondering what we should do and he looks at the paper again

"The landlady." He said walking off in a direction and I follow behind him again

"How come you're renting an apartment, don't you live around here," I ask trying to have a small conversation with him

"Its closer to the school, and I want to try and live on my own so I'm not depending on my grandpa. What about you, why are you living by yourself?"

"My mom was moving to Tokyo to take care of my grandma, but I didn't want to go because I have been looking forward to going to Karasuno since I was younger. So I worked it out with my so I could stay in the Miyagi Prefecture." I say and he stops and looks at me

"Why didn't you go to Tokyo they have way better Girl's Volleyball teams then here." He says and my eyes widened

"Well, I promised my friend that I would play volleyball with her at Karasuno," I say while I look down at the ground the add "Why did you choose Karasuno, you were so popular in middle school for being a setter."

"I heard that the legendary Coach Ukai was coming out of retirement," Kageyama said while he began to walk again

"I heard the rumor too, I guess he didn't," I say and he hummed in response

"Kageyama and I ask you a question?"

"You just did." He says and I was getting ready to say something when he added "Sure go ahead."

"Why do you hate being called 'The King of the Court?" I ask and there was nothing but silence for a while

"Nevermind-" I start but he began to speak

"I just do." Was all he said while he quickened his pace causing me to struggle to keep up

We soon made it to the landlady's place and quickly started to explain our situation.

"You both were scammed." She says while looking at the two pieces of paper

"What?" I say in a confused tone and she looked at me

"They took your money and ran." She says handing the papers back to us

"Then you will live there?" Kageyama asks and the lady thinks for a second

"Well Mr.Kageyama was the first to sign the lease, but it depends on who can pay the rent first." She says and I ask

"Is 800 the rent?" I ask and she shakes her head in response

"No its 1.500." She says and my eyes widened at her words

'I would have food money if I would pay that much.' I think to myself and I look over at Kageyama who has the same shocked expression as me

"I will give you a week to get all of your stuff out, or bring me the rent money."

We make our way back towards the apartment and Kageyama hands me a bag that was on our doorknob before opening the door.

I follow him inside while I look into the bag 'It's from Akina.' I thought to myself while I walk into the kitchen and set the bag of food down.

"What are you going to do." Kageyama suddenly asks

"I really don't know. I might have to ask my mom for money so I can move again because I don't get my paycheck until next week." I say looking at the food then add "What about you?"

"I don't have the money to move again. And I don't have the money to pay 1,500 rent." He says and I think for a second before suggesting

"How about we live together?"
