At the celebration venue, the Rosemary Banquet hall was amongst the finest and luxurious in Country A. Not every rich and wealthy businessman could afford to grasp a reservation at this Banquet hall.
The Rosemary Banquet had a reputation to withhold; which is why before giving a reservation to any high society member, they always did a background check. They were haughty at selecting their guests; gaining all the more popularity among the wealthy families.
The Roberts celebrating their company's 20th Anniversary at the Rosemary Banquet signified their noble and high status in the society. The theme of the party was Masquerade Ball as per Maria's suggestion.
The guests arrived by the dozen, each sporting expensive looking masks decorated in gold and silver which covered their faces entirely. Everyone wore a new dress or suit which would be discarded after the night was past.
Greetings were being offered out along the path of the hall which had Italian marble flooring, while the dainty fairy lights added a surplus amount of colour to the parade of footsteps.
The ceiling must be twenty feet high. Designs of fruit and flowers are carved into the moulding and small, fat children with wings looked down from every angle. Vases of blossoms give off a delightful scent putting the guests in a soothing trance.
A sweet melody was drifting through the busy atmosphere which came from a collection of violinists, harp players and pianist that were placed at the far end of the hall. The entire atmosphere was chic and surreal, while the guests were filled with eagerness for the arrival of the star of the party; The Roberts.
The emcee for the party, which was a veteran celebrity, went up to the stage where he announced the most anticipated news.
"Ladies and gentleman, please give a round of applause to the most dashing, the youngest well- accomplished businessman Mr. Edward Roberts and his beautiful family."
*CLAP* *CLAP* *CLAP*
The beautiful and vast banquet hall was filled with the uproar and claps for the main star of the event, while the colossal doors opened with a clamour.
Edward entered through the doors as he walked on the red carpet; a runway of his own. He was clad in a dark navy blue three- piece suit emanating a majestic aura. His tall figure was in the middle of two awe- striking ladies which resulted in the guests being stunned at the appearances of the three together.
On his left, Edward was arms in arm with his gorgeous wife, Maria who was walking with an air of sophistication and poise. Everybody recognised her as they already knew about Maria, who was not only The Roberts family daughter-in-law, but also an accredited psychiatrist and a genius in her field.
The guests praised the lovely couple with another round of applause when they finally shifted their sight to the other lady who was holding Edward's right hand.
*GASP*
That outfit, that material, that figure, that aura… truly outstanding!
The people at the banquet could barely believe their eyes.
Slim and slender!
Her jet black hair was cascading down her bare and dainty, fair shoulders, curled at the ends.
The makeup was light but fitting and exquisite. Her features were well-defined and alluring.
The baby pink brought out the youthfulness and purity in her.
Everyone recognized her overpowering beauty.
The gown that covered her legs fully emphasized her slender figure as well.
The white skirt covered her shoes slightly, while the pink front of the shoe peeked under it.
With the high-quality silk material and the embroidery, her presence was felt in a graceful, classy manner.
He caught sight of the slim back view of a girl and was shocked.
She looked just like an art piece…
Her dress emphasized her superb figure, and the back view alone got all the guests' hearts pounding rapidly.
"Who is this ethereal beauty?"
"Wow! She looks like an angel. Her beauty is otherworldly!"
"God! Look at her features and her figure, she can easily defeat the Movie Queens and put them to shame."
"Mr. Edward never spares even a glance to other females other than his wife but now she is holding his arm and he doesn't mind?"
The venue was filled with another uproar of the guests who were mesmerised by the ravishing beauty in front of them. They were loudly discussing about the unfamiliar enchantress who was holding Edward's hand like an innocent child who was a little nervous of the intimidating stares of the crowd.
"It's okay! Don't worry, your brother is here. Just relax, hmm?"
Edward had a fatherly gaze while he consoled the nervous Aleina. His benevolent words worked in soothing Aleina's nerves and she relaxed; regaining her poised posture.
Edward was hiding his anger as he didn't want to make Aleina all the more anxious and nervous than she already was.
He turned his head to the left and through gritted teeth he said in a low voice while glaring at his mischievous wife.
"This is what I was dreading. Look at all these sleazy guys who are salivating at the sight of her. Ugh! I'm going to poke their eyes out if they don't stop ogling at her. It's all your fault. Hmph!"
"Hehe!" Maria giggled lightly at her overprotective husbands tantrums.
"Darling! You can't just lock her up just because she is too beautiful. And you promised you will behave, don't forget my warning okay?"
Maria again warned him while she reminded him about the warning that Maria gave before entering the Banquet.
----------------------
An hour ago, outside the Banquet hall.
"Nuh- uh! No freaking way!"
Edward, Maria's husband, was standing his ground and with an intimidating and fierce aura he kept repeating his words; stubborn to not allow what was happening right now.
"What the hell baby? You can't just stop us from entering the Banquet hall just because we are looking freaking gorgeous. And what do you mean that Aleina should change her appearance before entering?"
With a piercing gaze, Maria questioned her husband who was too protective of them. She put both her hands on her waist while she kept berating Edward who stopped them from entering the Anniversary party as soon as he saw them.
"Have you looked at yourselves?! You, I can handle, as nobody would dare to stare at my wife but..."
Edward tired to reason with his fierce wife and then turned his sight towards Aleina, speaking in an anger laced voice-
"But Aleina.... gosh! Those disgusting creeps are going to keep ogling at her with how gorgeous she is looking. I will be pissed at the infuriating sight of some sleazy ass guy trying to hit on her. GOD DAMNIT!"
Maria was running out of time and patience as she kept reasoning with her overprotective husband. She resorted to her last trick as she coldly glared at Edward and said,
"Enough! Edward Roberts, if you don't stop throwing a tantrum right this instant then you can enjoy sleeping in the guest room for a month. Do you understand?!"
She huffed at him and turned around to grab Aleina's hand; walking towards the entrance of the Banquet, leaving Edward behind. He was dumbfounded at his fierce wife's warning.
He quickly regained his senses and caught up to the ladies, suppressing his distress inside mind.
'My wife is even more ruthless than me. Ahhh ~'
