Chapter Twenty Four

The kiss never came. I waited and waited, but there was nothing. I opened my eyes to see Kai staring at my lips, but he wasn’t doing anything. He pulled away completely and avoided my gaze, leaving me completely flustered.

“What? Why did you… why did you do that?!” I seethed.

“What did I do?” He tilted his head at me as if nothing happened. Words could not describe how frustrated and livid I was at him for doing that. That was a sin of teasing. He was lucky I had sense. If I didn’t, I would’ve attacked him and kissed him myself.

“You were going to kiss me!” I huffed. “Why didn’t you!?”

“So you wanted me to kiss you?” He smirked.

“Yes! No! I…” I groaned. “Is there something wrong with me…?” So many emotions were overwhelming me right now. “Is there something on my face?”

“Believe me, I have my reasons.” He hummed. “It has nothing to do with you. I just believe that now is not the proper time.”
