As soon as Cairo requested Kira to let the parasite researchers continue their research, the mages were given the resources they need in the shortest time possible

Of course, at first, there is a lot of people that don't want the researchers to continue. After all, if they really managed to make a strong parasite, the chances of it being used to the masses will remain

However, as soon as Kira brought up the suggestion of Cairo, everyone can't help but applaud it. There are still some loopholes in that plan but the Kingdom has several 'brains'. Since the main framework is already provided, they only need to adjust and fill in the minor details

"Del, call the Rune Masters" Cairo said to his guard and a magic Phone immediately appeared on top of Del's palm and he uses it to send the message

"Young Master, what are you really planning to make?" Del asked in curiosity. It has been a month already and Del can't contain his curiousness anymore

"Don't worry, it'll be ready soon. We only need the Rune Masters to succeed" Cairo replied mysteriously but that just causes Del's curiosity to grew even bigger

After some time, five Rune Masters entered Cairo's lab, and just like the usual, they are all slaves. Mostly, only slaves are allowed to be part of Cairo's experiments for his own safety

"Young Master, your orders?" The leader of the Rune Masters asked and Cairo uses magic to move the glass of the worm in his hand and the leader caught it with his hands

"I want you to engrave the rune I asked you to make before on this worm" Cairo ordered and the Rune Masters were immediately confused at that

"Young Master, this worm really doesn't have much ability except for being able to enter one's spirit sea. Its level is not high and the worm will soon die if it uses the rune's power. If you want to make living weapons, this worm isn't suitable for it. Besides, even that rune is something not compatible with a worm like this" the Rune Master said as he was afraid that Cairo might be wasting a lot of resources

"Just do it, it doesn't matter if the worm died as long as it can survive for at least a week or two while continuously using the rune's ability"

Although the Rune Masters thinks that it would be a huge waste of time and resources, they still do not have any choice but to comply. They are only slaves and they need to do whatever their master ordered no matter how stupid it sounds

"Just request for more worms from the research department if you need more" Cairo continued and the Rune Masters nodded their heads before walking to reach another room from the lab

"Del, request for prisoners at Acolyte and Mage Ranks, choose the ones with the gravest crime. A crime enough to make a lot of people wish they would die and imprison them in the lab"

As usual, Del accomplished Cairo's order and he felt that he would soon receive a huge shock

Another week has passed and the Rune Masters finally succeeded in accomplishing Cairo's orders and they presented five worms to him

The worm has the same body as blood and flesh lifeform but they have the ability to stay in a creature's consciousness realm and feed themselves by using the host's excess soul power

As soon as Cairo's eyes landed on the worms that have invisible runes on their body, his eyes glowed and he immediately entered an excited state

"Come with me!" Cairo said to Del and the Rune Masters before he walks

Cairo walks into several rooms from his lab and they soon reached an elevator

Cairo swiped a certain card to the elevator before he felt that something scanned his body and the elevator opened up

The group of seven people immediately entered the elevator and they went below Cairo's lab

After some time, the elevator stops moving and its door opened revealing several cages of different sizes

"Open the cage" Cairo said to Del and the man opened one of the cages where five humans can be seen inside. The humans were bound by their hands, feet, and they cannot move. There was even a blindfold in their eyes

The metal bounding them are not your ordinary metal as it has the ability to prevent magic from exiting it. They are perfect for preventing a mage from escaping

"Open the glass and prevent the worms from moving" Cairo said to the Rune Masters before five small transparent crystal-like things appeared in his hand

The crystal confused the people around Cairo. They know that it was some sort of container but they didn't know what it was for

In fact, this container is something that Cairo made with his research about Magic Core. He made the simplest and most basic container and its only feature was expansion. This is the last component for the parasite that can make Crystal Soul Shards

Cairo uses his magic and the crystal containers floated from his palms and they approached the worms. The worms that don't have much intellect opened their mouths and the crystal entered their bodies

"Let the worms enter the prisoners' consciousness realm" another order came out from Cairo and the Rune Masters accomplished it

As soon as the worms entered the prisoners' conscious realm, they immediately issued a loud scream of pain. The prisoners tried to move their hands to clutch their aching heads but their hands were bound. They cannot do anything other than to scream from the pain

Minutes passed and the prisoners continued shouting in pain and Cairo entered deep thought. "The parasite is still not perfect, in my memories, the test subjects would only feel pain for a few seconds after the parasite entered them. After that, they would always feel mental fatigue, and only when the parasite was extracted would they feel another pain before dying"

Cairo continued and mentally noted the difference between his parasite and the one in his memories before his body stiffened

There are literally five people in front of Cairo that is weeping and shouting in pain but the only thing in his mind was how inferior his parasite is

It would be normal if Del and the other older men don't feel much about the evil prisoners but for a kid like Cairo to be the same...

"I am really turning to be like my past self but... I don't feel any regret. To reach my goal, I need to do this" Cairo said to himself and he threw away the few moral standards that were affecting him a bit

"Young Master?" Del called out after noticing the abnormalities from Cairo and that returned the kid back to the reality

"It's nothing. Let's go, it will take a week or two before the results will be out" Cairo said and their group returned back above to continue whatever works they need to do

"Soon, I will be able to have as many Crystal Soul Shards as I want and I will reach the genius level of the Kingdom. This is the right decision, I shouldn't rush being a mage. With the shard's help, I can be a formal mage in a short time and I'll even be able to advance ranks in mage rank faster than the others. I will have a stronger soul and comprehending things would be easier! " Cairo said to himself and he can't wait for one or two weeks more
