After showing a little of what his people can do, in full view of all these people in Alexandria, the large convoy stopped in a spacious square.
The tanks and Humvees with machine guns made it well into this shelter, there was still plenty of gasoline so now it would not be a problem to move with these vehicles.
Soon after, a group of more than one hundred and thirty people gathered in the street of this community without making noise.
It was only after the refugees at this location approached that they noticed the equipment these strangers came with!
If the tanks were not impressive enough, there were large vehicles that had been modified, people were wearing bulletproof vests, assault rifles and grenades on their chests, bright blood could be seen on the tires of the cars, looking at these people an idea came up about a bloody battle fighting walkers on their way to Alexandria.
These people are covered with weapons from head to toe, along with the gleam of rifles in their hands and a cold expression, some of these guys are definitely experienced soldiers.
If compared to the survivors of this place, it can be said that the people of Alexandria community are laggards, it is not because of their weapons that are definitely not inferior to Airon's group, but it is because of their weak temperament.
Before long, everyone got out of the vehicles and there was not a single person who did not have a cold and slightly dirty face, but each and every one of these people was holding a weapon.
Deanne could see that there were two groups of people, one group that was small but seemed to have better weapons and full equipment, and the other that was large but mostly there were survivors.
After seeing them, Deanna said, "Airon, it looks like they haven't known each other for very long, right?"
Hearing this, Airon nodded and pointed to Noah who was in one group, and said m: "That young man is Noah and he belonged to a community we went through first, the other group belongs to another community that was originally led by Ferdinand."
After watching the two groups exchange greetings in his direction, Airon continued, "We met Noah in Atlanta after rescuing him. He said he wanted to travel to the shelter where his family was, so we took him. It was a good place no worse than this place, but we were attacked by a bad group of people and Ravi, their previous leader, died."
"With Ferdinand it was a little different, we managed to find him and his group very close to this place, there we were able to get the tanks and vehicles with machine guns. His group decided to follow us after hearing that we were heading in search of a much safer place."
Deanna sighed as she heard some bitter news, nodded in apology mode and said, "Sorry to hear about the losses."
Airon smiled and said, "You should know that I like to save all the people, I don't care about numbers or anything like that. But that led me to know that some people don't need to be saved, I know that very well and if any of these men cause problems, I will take it upon myself to fix them."
"Airon, Ravi decided to follow you and all these people to trust you. You should be happy for your great victories, since you brought this large number of people, all of them can be part of our community."
"But this place is different from surviving outside, we all learn to carry the future in different ways. I hope you will agree to a simple meeting! I will ask Aaron to arrange a suitable place for these people, I just hope they will cooperate and understand."
Airon had expected this part and respected the owners of this place as he was now just a stranger. Even if other concerns flooded his mind, he focused on the main thing and agreed to gain Deannna's trust by giving her the first chance to act.
Before long, a group of people drove the large vehicles to a secluded spot and the people were gathered to some abandoned houses. Noah and his people were very surprised, so they all chose a house.
Airon and his closest group which was increasing in numbers with the most capable and loyal people in this group of people along the way went to the modified RV, he didn't need a house but still preferred to take one for his group to rest properly.
...
After separating from the group, Airon followed Aaron to the room Deanna had prepared to talk on terms with him. Although he couldn't remember exactly where Rick's group originally talked, it should just be a matter of decoration.
Deanna sat down in a chair in the middle of the room and set up a video camera.
"Do you mind if I record our conversation?"
"Never mind, I have no problem."
Deanna nodded and sat down across from Airon. She looked at him and said, "We haven't met new people in a long time, let alone hundreds of people at once. This is going to be a long conversation."
After both parties were seated and ready, Deanna smiled slightly before asking, "Can you tell me what you used to do before?"
"Shall I tell you again?"
"Yes, you should know who you were before all this started, I originally wanted to go back to Ohio but I never expected the army to stop us, then the national guard brought us to this place. The army was supposed to come some time later, but they didn't."
"We found a great building site nearby, and my husband, an architecture professor, designed the outside walls, and our children were a big help doing it, along with everyone's help we were able to create this shelter. So, you should know that occupations are important for a community to grow."
Hearing these familiar words, Airon was surprised that even without thinking about it, in his community he had worked in a similar but much more sophisticated way.
Airon then smiled and said, "Many years ago I was a great soldier, one of the best the Army could have. After I left the services, I learned about the virus and how important it was to keep the CDC safe."
Deanna was very surprised, remembering the earlier words she exchanged with Airon she knew he wasn't lying.
"That's great, I thought you were no more than thirty years old, your looks right now it's hard to really figure out how old you are."
"Age was never important to me, I can tell I'm 20 to 25, really I could even be 30. Right now the weight of age has lost its value."
...
The two talked for some twenty minutes, and Deanna was surprised by every word that came out of Airon's mouth. Almost always when it came to survival knowledge, the person in front of her knew everything. But there were still plenty of people for him to talk about next so it was over in no time.
"Airon, now I can understand the people who have followed you along the way a little more. You have a different way of living the situation, it can be said that you do what is necessary but not for your own benefit alone."
"Haha, it's not that big of a deal. Now that I'm here, I hope you can trust me."
"Of course, you are very welcome here, I originally wanted to find a group of people who have been out to help us, but I hadn't found the right people."
After that, Deanna immediately started chatting among the dozens of survivors, and the conversation lasted a whole day until late at night, when Deanna finally met the last person of the day.
"Michonne, sorry to keep you waiting all day."
"It's okay, I was with my group and I wasn't at all bored." Michonne said lightly.
Deanna smiled and picked up a notebook.
She looked at the notebook and then said slowly, "Michonne, the last one today is you as I wanted to have a detailed conversation with you. First of all, I heard from your partner that you joined the original group not long ago and now you are accompanying Airon to carry out a mission, so I would like to ask you, as a newcomer to his group, what do you think of his community?"
Michonne nodded silently. Before coming here, Airon didn't tell her anything, he just told her to respond accordingly. She was very grateful for that confidence.
"Now I can tell it's a family group. I remember when I first met them, he invited me to join their community, but when we came to that place we were strictly examined no matter who we were before."
"Compared to here, is there any difference?"
"Not to lie, but there is no point of comparison."
"Tell me what you think of Airon."
Speaking of Airon, Michonne was relaxed and didn't lie in her words. "Airon is a smart person, he doesn't like to lose or make mistakes. You can tell that lately he has become very suspicious of people, he watches them quietly and can see in a few days really what he hides."
Deanna smiled and said with some exaggeration, "Yeah, I know, he said himself that he's just trying to protect himself while thinking about his group."
Michonne couldn't help but smile, "Yeah, he's just like you said. He's always ahead of the curve, he's calculating and decisive. He protects the group from others and is always looking to make sure no one gets hurt."
Deanne asked Michonne a few more questions before stopping. Now she knew what she wanted to know, so she said goodbye to Michonne.
