Chapter 5: Grandfather's Help  (Seth)

I looked at my wife who was studying again since the twins are already sleeping and there's nothing else to do.

I think that my wife could be another transmigrator. I mean she was revived. Isn't that a perfect setting for a transmigrator? I sighed. I couldn't really say for sure. She's pretty much the same as before. Other than her new found interest in studying and her aloofness towards me, everything was more or less the same but I couldn't help feeling that there's something wrong. I just can't put my finger on it.

"Wife, I think something's wrong with you." I told her, trying to catch her off guard.

She just looked at me confused and I sighed dramatically.

"I mean, how can you get more beautiful as you give birth to my children? I swear it makes me want to see how many beautiful children we can make." I told her playfully and I saw a flicker in her eyes.

For a few seconds, I saw disgust in her eyes. I have been seeing that quite a few times already since I transmigrated. I mean she could just be really disgusted with me, I mean, Seth, and I honestly can't blame her for that.

"Husband… ummm… I… just gave birth… we… we can't… yet…" She replied shyly.

I was saved from this awkward situation I created by the crying of the twins. I told Athena to continue studying while I go and check the twins.

When I entered the room I saw the two of them crying their hearts out. I went closer to the bed to see what's wrong only to find out that Lisa peed and Kelly was probably crying because her sister was crying also.

I changed Lisa's diaper and calmed the twins. After that I cleaned the dirty diaper and hung it to dry. Why am I proficient in this? I actually really like children, my older sister has a daughter, and I used to take care of her when she was younger and I was still a startup actor.

I always wanted to have my own daughter but when my acting career kicked off, I was too busy to even meet people. I always thought that my daughter would only be a dream but lo and behold I have seven of them now.

I promise to love them until they can forget murdering me. I sighed again. The older daughters are very careful when I'm around like an employee meeting a CEO. I wonder what I can do to bridge the gap.

I mean I even started to cook at home, and even helped in some of the house chores. I always wanted to be a househusband. I've always imagined when I retired from acting, I would be a househusband.

"Kelly, what do you think father should do to get closer to your older sisters?" I asked Kelly and she smiled at me.

Lisa was also looking at us and raising her hands at me. I guess she wanted me to carry her. I gathered the twins in my hand and carried them out of the room to look at their mother.

It's been more than two weeks since I transmigrated here but I haven't achieved anything. It seems like I might really end up as the asshole father forever.

Should I get a job? I probably should, right? After all, our family needs financial independence from my father and stepmother. I would also need my own money, if I want to get out of this house.

"But I have no skills." I sighed sadly.

"Husband… did you say something?" I heard a small voice beside me and saw Athena looking at me curiously.

"Ah wife, I was just thinking I am pretty useless. I only know how to spend money. Now that I got kicked out of the military, I have no job. I also don't have any other talent so I'm pretty useless. Ah but I got a rich grandfather so I guess I'm not exactly useless. It's a good thing that grandfather can subsidize us since there's nothing I know how to do." I said proudly.

"Husband, if you want you could try asking grandfather for a job at the factory." Athena suggested cautiously.

"I can't. Hahaha. I used to work there but I got into a fight with an employee for flirting with his wife. I mean I didn't know she was his wife. He should have told me then I would have asked her to divorce him." I said with confidence.

This was the same thing Seth told his grandfather when he asked about the fight. Athena looked at me in disbelief before she lowered her head.

"Husband is very good at talking. I think you are also very good at convincing people. If my husband is a businessman, I might have been convinced to buy everything you offer me." Athena said.

That is not a bad idea. I could try that. Sell something but what should I sell? My target customer should be women, with my looks, it wouldn't be hard to gather customers but what to sell? Food? No, food takes a lot of time to create. Clothes? Yes, clothes can work. I could buy wholesale and then resell it.

"But where can I buy wholesale?" I murmured.

"Wholesale?" Athena asked curiously.

"Don't laugh at your husband, alright? Since I have no work, I'm thinking of selling women's clothes. I will buy the wholesale clothes and resell them but I don't really know where I can buy them." I explained to her.

Am I getting too out of character? Would she notice something? It's honestly hard to hide from her that there's a difference between me and the previous Seth.

"If it's wholesale, how about the factory's client? I think they would be selling wholesale clothes." I heard Athena suggested in a small voice.

Ah, that's right! I could do that.

"Wife, you are really the best. I'm so lucky that I was able to marry you out of all the women I met in my life." I told her and she just shyly looked away.

Since that problem was solved the next problem would be where to sell but I think I have a solution for that. I only need to convince my grandfather to help me.

I stopped talking about that topic and went outside to check the other two children in the backyard that were feeding the chicken.

The following day, I told my wife that I'm going to visit my grandfather as I haven't told him that I was kicked out of the military yet.

I know I'm grounded but who will stop me?

I went to the villa and the moment I stepped into my grandfather's office, I saw an ashtray heading straight towards me. It was a good thing I have a good reflex and was able to dodge.

"Grandfather Grandfather! Please calm down. You're so old already, you shouldn't get too excited." I told him.

"You prodigal child! How dare you show your face to me after that shameless incident you created in the military!" Grandfather shouted.

"Grandfather, I didn't really do anything wrong. I only complimented her and she suddenly wanted to run away with me." I replied and saw a pen flying to me.

"Grandfather, calm down. Calm down. Stop throwing things. I've already been beaten due to that. It took me this long to heal my wounds, that's why this grandson of yours could only visit you now." I explained.

"You! If you weren't Diana's son, I would have kicked you out of this family a long time ago!" Grandfather exclaimed angrily.

"Ah, right. Since grandfather already brought out my mother's name. I actually have something to ask for your permission. Can I use one of the shops that my mother left me?" I asked.

My mother, Diana, came from a rich family. The truth is most of our family's wealth came from my mother. 80% of the capital used to start the textile factory came from my mother's dowry. The other 20% was from grandfather's retirement fund.

My mother, blinded by love, married my father, who was apprenticing in her father's shop. My maternal grandfather is a businessman, a good one at that. He has opened a lot of shops that sell farm goods and stuff. I heard he also opened a restaurant with a friend of his.

Sadly, my father isn't exactly skilled in business so in order not to let her daughter suffer too much from marrying him. My grandfather suggested opening the textile factory, and gave the land of the current factory as my mother's dowry, along with a few shops.

When my mother passed away when I was 7 due to heartbreak from finding out about my father's mistress and their son, William. Before her death, she transferred all of her remaining dowry to my name and let my grandfather keep them. Sadly, the land that the factory was built on was already transferred to my father's name so I could only give up on that for now.

My maternal grandfather was so angry that he severed all ties from my family. He even tried to get custody of me but failed.

He used to still at least cared for me but when I started acknowledging my stepmother as my mother and saw how I grew up, he had finally given up on me.

"What do you want to do with your mother's shop?" Grandfather asked defensively.
