Noah didn't want to alert the inhabitants of the Phoenix Clan village so he just hid his existence from them.
He naturally knew their grievances. Being cursed to forever remain at the Tenth Level of the Elementary Profound Realm due to the mistake done by their ancestors was simply absurd.
The Phoenix Spirit as righteous as she was, it can be said was quite extreme by cursing their bloodline for over a thousand years.
It was normal for fights between experts to cause some casualties. Those strong cultivators normally don't care about their surroundings anyway.
That was life in the cultivation world where the innocent mortals and weak cultivators suffer when caught up in a scuffle between supreme experts.
Noah couldn't blame the Phoenix Spirit since she was their progenitor and in that situation, she had the power to punish them.
True God Realm Experts also had their way of thinking, right?
Who can question the way they do things?
Their supreme authority was inviolable.
Noah knew that he was trespassing into the ancestral grounds of the Phoenix clan but he didn't give a damn about it.
He would just help them with the curse removal, right?
And also just clear out the pests that wanted to harm them as a form of compensation for infringing on their Phoenix Trial Grounds.
Yeah, he would do that.
So for the infamous Black Demon Mercenary Group, their extinction was already confirmed.
Noah had no qualms about eradicating them since sooner or later he knew those bandits would just act on their desires and attack the village.
Loot. Women. Rape.
Those were the core things that the bandits found hard to ignore. The temptation was simply overwhelming.
Looking around he could see the clan members going on about their respective businesses.
Two cute children, that were presumably twins passed near him as they chased after each other while playing.
Both of them had Dark red Phoenix marks on their foreheads. That Dark red mark was the curse symbol that limited their powers and sealed their bloodlines.
Noah looked at them closely, and he noticed their ages were just around eight to nine years.
The little cute girl had bright eyes that held the curiosity of a child and small teeth were pure white. She was clad in a red dress that loosely hugged her immature and tender body.
The boy looked just like a male version of the cute girl, though the similarity seemed to be just at sixty percent.
Noah knew the two siblings.
They were the children of the Clan leader, Feng Baichuan.
He ignored them and continued walking towards the inner part where the Phoenix ruins were located.
He knew about the requirements for the seal to be opened. It needed activation from the blood of any clan member that held the Phoenix Bloodline.
But. He didn't need their blood.
He could just bypass the seal restrictions by using [space-time manipulation].
Noah knew the Phoenix Spirit, although it was just a remnant of the Original Primordial Phoenix, she was still once a True God expert and she could sense his foreign presence in her territory.
Like a fish in water, he went through the red sigil that acted as the seal mark to the Spirit of the Phoenix's Domain and vanished from the entrance.
He arrived in a pitch-black environment that had no sign of existence.
It was akin to a bottomless abyss.
But it didn't shake his heart and he just waited calmly for the host of the Trial to emerge.
It wasn't long before a pair of enormous eyes that shone with golden luminosity appeared in the Pitch-black space.
Its eyes had vertical slits that seemed to see through the very soul of any existence.
The Primordial Phoenix Spirit had appeared.
"Greetings human, no, you are not exactly a human, but I smell an extremely strong dragon bloodline from you and it's complete. It's been past thousand years since someone of non-phoenix bloodline appeared on these trial grounds."
A majestic female voice spoke telepathically in Noah's mind.
Noah not wanting to seem rude returned the greetings.
"Greetings Spirit of the Phoenix."
The eyes of the Phoenix's Spirit held great curiosity for this being that wasn't flustered in the least by her mere presence.
She had sensed him since he entered the Phoenix Clan territory due to his extremely potent draconic bloodline that seemed on par with the Primordial Azure Dragon who held supreme authority over those of the Dragon Race.
She was greatly surprised by the way he could bypass the restrictions that prohibited those of non-phoenix bloodline.
Dimensional Laws. She could feel the usage of that supreme Law on him though it was just faint. It looked as if he hadn't fully comprehended it but she firmly knew that even during the Era of the Gods, practitioners that had the serendipity of grasping the Laws of Space were extremely rare.
"It seems you know a thing about me, I can tell from the way you are behaving, so I will just skip the formalities and go directly to the point."
"I am an independent fragment of the Primordial Phoenix soul that is in charge of the Trial Ground you are currently in. This Trial Ground's purpose is to accept all challenges and at the end of it all, find an inheritor for the Legacy left behind by the Primordial Phoenix."
Noah nodded his head as the Spirit of the Phoenix explained.
"All that the Phoenix demands, is someone who will not use its power to do harm the world for their selfish purpose. What has befallen the Phoenix Clansmen you saw is due to the sins of their ancestors, that is why their bloodline is cursed and their strength suppressed."
"Young man, I can see your talent is extremely high to be able to surpass the mortal realm on this small planet. In conjecture to your strength and talent, the level of difficulty will be raised, and also the rewards that you would eventually get will be increased."
" Young man, are you ready?"
" I am good to go," Noah calmly replied as he couldn't hold it any longer and he had nothing to ask from the Spirit of the Phoenix.
"The Trial is divided into three phases: In the First Phase, you will have to fight the Purgatory Flame Demon, Second Phase take on attacks from the Arrows of the Phoenix, and the Third Phase, Corruption of the Heart's Flame which would test your inner heart. You can forfeit if you feel that the journey is too hard. Just shout when you have reached your limit and I will immediately send you out."
"But I think that won't be necessary since I have high hopes for you, young man."
With those last words, the Spirit of the Phoenix gradually receded into the darkness and Noah found himself in the illusory realm for the commencement of the Trial.
The terrain was uneven with crimson red boulders and pools of lava spouting off from the ground.
The environment truly resembled the fabled Hell dimension spoke in religions.
"Well well, now where is the Purgatory Flame Demon?" With his hands clasped behind his back, Noah walked on the pool of lava unaffected.
How could mere lava affect him who has complete control over the fire itself?
Amidst the waves of heat emanating from the pool of lava, his robust figure appeared to be hazy.
Suddenly at the place where he was standing, the lava started violently churning, and the temperature increased by several degrees. It was as if an ancient behemoth that was previously sleeping had suddenly started awakening from its slumber.
Noah took a step back and immediately, from the place he previously stood, a deafening roar sounded before an enormous Flame Demon bathed in red flames emerged.
It stood at thirty-three meters tall with every inch of its body spewing hot flames. It had two ferocious-looking eyes which were currently fixated on Noah's figure. Atop its head, two long horns of fire protruded. Noah thought the horns looked familiar to Hellboy, a character he watched in a movie during his previous life.
Noah analyzed its strength and found that it was in the Sixth Stage of the Divine Tribulation Realm.
Was this a joke?
Was the Spirit of the Phoenix sending this beast to be bitch-slapped into non-existence?
The Purgatory Flame Demon although it was most of the time mindless, seemed to have sensed the disdain from Noah and it was extremely enraged.
With a roar, it opened its enormous mouth that was constantly spewing magma, and from it, a huge fireball that seemed to be under rotational force was shot toward Noah.
Noah calmly lifted his hand and before the super-sized fireball touched him, he compressed the whole attack to become so tiny like a marble.
"Go back."
Noah returned the marble-sized fireball stacked together with true dragon flames toward the Purgatory Flame Demon.
The speed of Noah's attack was so fast that the gigantic beast didn't have time to even finish its roar. The tiny fireball penetrated its head via the Golden mark on its forehead which was its weak point.
BOOM!
The Purgatory Flame Demon exploded and traced its roots back to the lava.
He finished the first phase in a matter of seconds.
"Damn, when will I fight to my heart's content?" Noah lamented in a not-so-sad voice.
Like a chain reaction, various images of extremely powerful beings started appearing in his mind, and when an image of a very short and small blue character with a large oval-shaped appeared in his head, he immediately stopped his dangerous train of thoughts.
He was courting death thinking early about such a multiversal character and he wasn't at that level yet.
Chuckling to himself, Noah looked around for some time before his surrounding started warping and all the pools of lava and volcanoes disappeared and he felt himself appear in an unfamiliar landscape.
" The Second Phase of the Trial Begins. Prepare for the Arrows of the Phoenix."
The surprised voice of the Phoenix resounded due to how the First Phase was easily cleared as if wasn't worth a fart.
Is the world already changing? She couldn't help but ask herself.
