Chapter 262: The Effects Of The News VIII

Seeing the enemy stab him from behind, Shun gripped the spear tightly, as he quickly swung it around in an attempt to catch Muerte in the chance that his weapon was stuck inside his body. Unfortunately before the spear could hit its intended target, Muerte quickly with surprising strength, pulled the blade out of Shun's body only using physical strength, before he kicks the ground and distance himself away from Shun.

The moment Muerte did auch a thing, Shun was then left with a gaping hole through his chest, as blood flowed out of the hole and his body going limp. But despite that, he forced his body to hold its ground, as he stayed awake while simultaneously trying to reach for a health potion within his inventory.

In fact with such an injury, Shun should have been in the brink of death right at this very moment, but despite all odds, his will to live fought on as he refused to even fall here right now. Naturally the Aquasphere sensed his great desire to live despite having his chest pierced through which can kill a person. In response to Shun's determination, the Aquasphere acted as a temporary blood pact for Shun as it forced its organs to function properly while slowly closing the gap in his chest.

All of that was done automatically by the Aquasphere itself and is out of Shun's control.

However despite the aid he received from the Aquasphere which is currently keeping him alive, it would still not change the fact that Shun is currently fighting a person who literally outwits him in this battle. What's more, the Aquasphere's aid can only do so much that it can be compared to stalling for time.

The power of the Aquasphere could not help him in his dire situation where he has one foot below the ground. He knew that if the attacker is able to pierce his chest once more, that would be the end of him. After all the Aquasphere he has is not omnipotent thing which could cheat death and what's more the Aquasphere power that he has is nothing but a fragment of its original source. The real Aquasphere is back in the kingdom beyond the seas, but despite the fact that what Shun has is just a fragment, he could still tap on the power and use it accordingly.

Now that he patched himself up, Shun then saw Muerte smiling at him as he said.

"Your not dead yet? Oh well, that only means that you can entertain me more"

As Muerte said that, he then suddenly disappeared on the spot which caused Shun to open his eyes in shock, as he quickly set up the Aquasphere's barrier, just in time to defend himself from another surprise attack.

In response to this, Muerte whistled in a tone if amazement, as he smiled back and changed his weapon choice once more. This time it is a dual blade, which packs even more power in comparison to the other weapons he had faced. In a blink of an eye, Muerte charged towards him in a speed of light, while Shun reacted just in time as he thrusted his spear and clashed against Muerte's cross slash.

But that didnt end there, just as both of their weapons against each other, three bulge suddenly popped out below Shun, as it spewed out a quick rock throw, forcing Shun himself to dodge the attack and back off for quite a bit.

Following that Muerte charged forward once more as he slashed down his sword and begun clashing against Shun non stop like real weapon masters. What's more in some cases, Muerte inserted magic attacks in between, which annoyed Shun by a lot and force him to retreat step by step due to the pressure given.

Without casting any chant, Muerte shifted his weapon back into a staff, as he tapped the ground and caused a huge tsunami lava to erupt and rush towards Shun.

Upon seeing this Shun in the sense of danger, quickly turned towards the columns of the room in order to avoid being in the range of attack and somewhat be safe from the opponent attack range. Unfortunately Muerte saw that coming, as he suddenly appeared and shifted his staff into a hammer before swinging it towards him in full force.

In the snap of the moment, Shun used the spear to block the attack as he got blown out of the column and came rolling across the ground itself. But despite that Shun quickly got up as he rush forward and thrusted his spear, however this time it is a different type of skill.

Gathering mana throughout the body of the spear, Shun thrusted the attack towards Muerte which caused a devastating effect towards his surroundings.

"Whirlpool Thrust"

Seeing a massive attack heading his way, Muerte did something with the hammer he held, as he strongly tapped it to the ground and casted multiple layer of walls in front of him. However the attack was so strong that it pierced through all its defenses, and literally shocked Muerte while he got dragged around by the attack, before he crashed to the ground.

While Muerte was somewhat trying to recover from his fall, Shun blinked on top of him using Katarina's Shunpo, as he smashed his head in with a stomp while preparing to finish him off with an attack.

However despite that, Muerte simply smiled, as he responded.

"I keep telling you, you cant kill me that easily"

In that moment as if popping out of nowhere, a sword was swung towards him, which caught Shun's attention, as he used Zhonya's to become invulnerable and gave him time to readjust himself.

While somewhat shocked by that sudden invulnerability, Muerte was also curious at the same time amazed on just how far can Shun's  invulnerability last as he prepared to swing the sword once more.

But before he could enact such repeated attack, Shun suddenly turned towards the assassin, as he breath out a powerful attack.

"Breath of light"

In just a moment while letting out Aurelion's sol skills against his opponent, the whole field turned into white, as a huge chunk of land was blasted away followed by the explosion and late rumbling sound of the explosions aftermath.
