Chapter 261: The Effects Of The News VII

[Duke's Mansion]

Rushing to the room where all the champion's signal was lost, Shun then blitz through the mansion, as he broke through one door and saw a hooded assassin standing all alone in a wide room with his staff half his size and Sephiria lying down in front of him. Looking at the damaged walls and floor, it seems like a deadly battle had just ended as it seemed that his champion all they could just to save his fiancé. Unfortunately the enemy before him is too strong to the point that all his assassin champions died by its hand.

He didn't know how they died, but one thing he was assured about was that, the person in front of him was not someone he could take on lightly.

"You arrived here much faster than i expected, i reckon that all my men are dead"

"You can think of it as such, but don't worry your next... I've had enough with assassins and cloaked people"

"I see... looks like you have your own fair share of traumatizing events in regards to such people, anyway i have also finished things on my side"

"..."

"Not fond of talking?"

"Heh! what's there to talk?"

As Shun said those words, he then launched himself towards the assassin as he stretched his spear and thrusted towards his opponent. In response to this the assassin simply stood still with his eyes following Shun's movement, and a barrier made out of mana erected between them and blocking the former's attack.

Upon seeing this, Shun opened up his summoning book as he summoned Yuumi, while simultaneously stretching out his other hand and blasting the barrier with a barrage of attacks.

"Overload x20"

Using Ryze skills in instant succession like a machine gun, Shun caused a huge explosion to erupt which gave Yuumi an ample of time top pick up Sephiria and drag her towards the door of the room leading to the hallway. However despite that machine gun like barrage of attacks, the mana barrier was still intact, as the assassin simply looked at him emotionlessly and targeted Yuumi with a fireball that he had casted.

"Realm Warp!!!"

In that instant, Shun used another one of Ryze Skills to change his position with Yuumi and Sephiria as he blocked the fireball attack with his Aquasphere's mana barrier. Without wasting any time at all, Shun quickly entered a piercing stance as he loaded up his mana unto the spear and thrusted its power out towards the assassin with all its might.

"Aqua Thrust!!!"

Seeing the huge torrent of power rushing right to it, the assassin's eyes widened in amazement and surprise as he finally moved and did something to cause a huge explosion to rung out and blew away the main hall and right towards the front yard of the mansion.

"Amazing! I never knew you had such power within you, looks like i underestimated you so much because your young"

"I don't need your compliment"

As the assassin voiced out his amazement, Shun sprung out of the smoke as he attacked with his spear with then clashed against the staff that the assassin used to block his attack.

As both of their weapons clashed against each other, the assassin leaned in closer to Shun which then shoved his hood away, and showcased his wolf like ears, eyes, and teeth. Basically a type of beast man just like the cat girl assassin that he had just killed along the way.

"Shun Kurosaki! Call me Muerte... Its nice knowing you"

Showing its sharp grin, Muerte then pushed back his spear, as he transformed his staff into dual saber in just a blink of an eye. Even though Shun was surprised by this sudden transformation from staff to saber. he then stayed focus on the target and ignored the excited smile from his opponent.

"Shunpo!!!"

Using shunpo to arrived before his target, Shun thrusted out his spear and begun attacking Muerte with multiple thrust. In response to this, Muerte deflected all the attack in quick succession, before pushing in his counter of cross slashes. However such a counter was not enough, as Shun used flash to blink himself behind Muerte, before putting out a powerful attack

"Aqua Thrust!!!"

However despite his effort, Muerte was still able to dodge his sudden attack and somewhat managed to arrive beside him with a creepy smile.

"Blade impact!!!"

"Aqua Barrier!!!"

As Muerte slashed down his saber towards Shun followed by a sword wave, Shun was able to erect a barrier in time and somewhat able to defend himself from getting a critical damage from that devastating attack alone. After that attack, he quickly deactivated the barrier, as he took a deep breath in and shoot out a tsunami of flames.

"Flame breath!!!"

Sending out that tsunami of flames towards his target, Muerte gathered mana unto his blade as he cuts the ground and somewhat for some reason shoot out a wall made out of thrown to block the flames.

Just like that when Shun saw his attack got blocked, he then sensed tremor deep within the earth, as he quickly jumped up just in time to dodge some of the thorn vines that sprout up just to catch his legs. If he was a tad bit too late to react from that tremor, his whole body would have been restrained and him being open to all kinds of powerful attack.

"Hello!"

Just as Shun thought that he had escaped danger from below, a creepy greeting brushed past his ears, as Shun saw Muerte standing upside down above him with a smile and his blade turning into a pole taller than him. With one swing, Shun was blasted out of the sky, as he crashed unto the ground and got pinned down by a trident that Muerte had thrown at him.

From this case it seems like Muerte can freely change the appearance of his weapon which somewhat became quiet a variable against Shun in this situation. However Muerte isn't the only one with tricks, as Shun body suddenly turned to smoke which indicated that the one that got impaled was none other than a clone.

"A clone? I got duped by a clone?"

"You talk to much"

As Muerte was shock that he had just attack the clone, Shun made his entrance from behind, as he took advantage of Muerte's shadow and strike him with his spear in a literal blind spot that his eyes cant observe. In just one attack Muerte was pierced by the spear, as blood splurged out from his mouth, while also giving out a laugh

"Ahahahaha"

"What's so funny?" asked by Shun

"Don't you get it? your not the only one with tricks"

After Muerte said that, his body turned to mud as it revealed itself as none other than a mud clone, causing Shun to be shock and witness a blade go through his chest from behind. In that moment he realized that he had gotten attacked  in his blind spot  which literally caught him off guard.
