"Well, don't be too agitated, I am doing this just for my safety. As long as you will do as I say, I won't kill you neither will I rob you." Meng said towards the dragon.
"You dare to even make demands, human?! I don't believe that this king can't squash you!" The dragon roared, enraged by Meng's casual words.
The dragon tried to stomp Meng's tiny body. In response, Meng only narrowed his eyes and a cold glint flashed in his eyes as he stretched out only one arm above his head to block the dragon's attack.
*BOOM* The entire cave started violently shaking as if the earthquake was happening.
"Eh?!" The dragon's eyes widened as the cloud of dust cleared up and saw Meng who stopped his attack containing his full strength with only one hand.
"Give up, in terms of physical strength, you are too weak compared to me." Meng said before he gripped one of the dragon's large claws and threw the entire dragon deeper inside the cave. All of this was done with only one hand. Although Meng noticed that, in the description, it didn't mention that his physique was the strongest in terms of strength, however, his body could weigh much more than this dragon, how could he not be able to throw with the dragon's body around when he is able to stand and even perform Cloud Steps with a much heavier body? The only danger he might face would be its high-density flames but he already took care of it.
His body would naturally be able to fight against the flames but for how long, he didn't know.
"How is this possible? What are you?! What kind of bloodline do you have that provides such an enormous strength?!" The dragon quickly recovered after being thrown into one of the walls and then asked with disbelief in his voice.
"Bloodline? Heh, the bloodline of great Su Meng!" Meng said with a wide smile and one eye closed while showing a thumbs up with his right hand.
"...What kind of poison did you feed to this king?" The dragon considerably calmed down and asked with a resentful tone.
"I won't answer anything until you swear an oath."
"An oath?!"
"That's right, the blood oath to be precise. I will let a drop of my blood fall on the ground and you do the same right on top of my drop of blood before you will swear to the heavens that you will never intentionally attack me unless I attack you personally first." Meng said before he bit the tip of his index finger and let the drop of blood fall on the ground.
"...That's all?" The dragon still wasn't convinced, after all, it was poisoned right now and the human in front of him was much stronger than current him. That human could easily take everything here and maybe even take his fire-attribute Profound Core.
"Two of us had quite a pleasant conversation just a few minutes ago, furthermore, we have no enmity in between us. The only reason why I am doing this is to ensure that we won't attack each other's backs when the other isn't watching. Of course, if you refuse, I will be forced to kill you since I don't want to risk going against your flames that you must have cultivated for numerous years. This cave's entrance is also too small for you to get past me even while flying so don't think of running away." Meng explained while shrugging his shoulders before stuffing his hands into his pockets with a carefree expression.
"...Have you thought of everything even before entering my den?!" The dragon asked with an angered tone but it was visible that he was holding back as it realized that Meng's proposition isn't bad, however, he couldn't be sure that this isn't another Meng's trick.
"Impossible, I thought of everything along the way, however, I was even prepared to fight you in case you would have been less friendly, haha. So...what will it be?" Meng asked with a polite smile while tilting his head to the side.
"FINE! You can be proud of yourself for tricking this king, human! However, I can't deny your enormous physical strength, strong are respected, weak must bow down, your offer isn't that bad, this one will agree even though this one feels extremely humiliated." The dragon said before taking the blood oath.
"Come on, it's not like I want you to bow down to me, why do you feel humiliated? Ah! I get it, all your life, you were too arrogant and now you can't stand being on equal footing. I apologize." Meng said sarcastically before bowing down to him as an apology.
"..."
"Anyway...I am just going to take all fire herbs and be on my way, see ya" Meng said before approaching the sea of fire herbs.
"WHAT?! STOP RIGHT THERE!" The dragon released an enraged roar.
"Well, we only agreed on the ceasefire but there wasn't any statement about me picking up things from your lair." Meng winked at him and explained with an innocent expression.
"YOU DESPICABLE HUMAN!!! I WILL DESTROY YOU EVEN AT COST OF MY LIFE!"
"Jeez, calm down...I was just joking, I am not so shameless." Meng said with a slightly tired face from the dragon's roaring.
"..." The dragon didn't reply but Meng was able to hear the dragon's teeth making grinding sounds.
"What about the poison in my body? How did you do it anyway?"
"The effect will disappear very shortly as for my method...the true color of Beast Strengthening Pill is...RED and yes, the first ones we swallowed were real Beast Strengthening Pills. I believe you are smart enough to get the rest. Anyway, my offer is 1 Beast Strengthening Pill for 1 fire herb, I have 12 more pills but to gain the most you can from one pill, you have to wait at least 1 week before taking another.
"Hm...The offer isn't bad considering our situation. I accept the trade, take 12 fire herbs, and leave the pills on the ground." The dragon agreed and Meng proceeded to take the fire herbs while leaving the pills on a small cloth.
"I will be nearby, I need to use this peak of the mountain for my training. If you will protect me for a few days, I will make a few more pills for you." Meng suggested while slowly leaving the cave.
"Wait, what do you mean "I will make a few more pills."?! Haven't you said that your master was the one who created them?!"
"Eh? Did I really say that? Whoopsie-daisy." Meng turned at the dragon and asked while scratching the back of his head before he "apologized" while sticking out his tongue and showing V sign with his right hand.
*ROOAR!*
'What an energetic fellow...' Meng thought with an amused smile as he was leaving the cave while clearing his blocked ears.
[I don't understand why the host didn't simply kill the dragon when the host had a chance. The host could have gotten a lot of good items just by killing it, not to mention skill points. I can't see any advantage in negotiation with that arrogant dragon.] Even Vista was confused by Meng's was of doing things.
'Vista...I try to find something more in cultivation other than absorbing particles of energy from the air...I try to look farther. I was the one who invaded that guy's home, he attacked me only after I poisoned him, if I used the excuse of him attacking me to kill him, I wouldn't be able to continue tempering my heart and mind. And if I couldn't contain myself in front of a few goodies, how can I contain myself in the future in front of some real treasures?'
[But didn't the host kill all those beasts from before?]
'Maybe they are just protecting their territory but they can't even understand me, therefore I won't hesitate to be ruthless. People usually have a large part of their heart ruthless and the other small part is kind or vice versa, in some extreme cases, their heart is completely ruthless even disregarding their relatives. Some have a completely kind and pure heart, never killing a soul. What I want to achieve is a perfect balance!' Meng spread his arms and looked at the sky as if to declare his ambition.
"Just as Yin-Yang, I want to achieve perfect balance! Kill when death is deserved, spare when you are in the wrong no matter what benefits it might give you. I believe that principles that you will follow for your entire life can make you into someone even much stronger outside of the influence of profound strength." Meng said with a slightly obsessed smile as if he found a new goal to pursue.
[...] In truth, Meng's words slightly scared even Vista. Vista saw a few fragments of Meng's old memories and he knew that humans from his era were the same greedy humans as in this world, Vista couldn't believe that Meng who came from that old world wanted to achieve something as perfect balance within his heart.
These were just Vista's speculations but if Meng were able to truly achieve a perfect balance, it would probably completely clear his mind and his comprehension ability would hit the peak that even gods can dream of. In Vista's opinion, if such a case became truly reality, Meng would be probably able to instantly learn any kind of technique just from seeing it or sensing the structure of profound energy used for it.
'Let's finally start the experiment, hopefully, it won't take longer than 1 week but it's possible that I will be out for even the entire month, depending on how deep I will sink into its understanding.' Meng thought, revealing this thought even to Vista. He was now able to completely freely separate his thoughts into personal thoughts and shared thoughts with Vista as if it was completely normal, this feat would help him in the future to master the telepathic technique.
Actually, this idea of Meng's perfect balance came after experiencing Xia Qingyue's cold energy invaded his body. He has heard a few things about Frozen Cloud Arts and Frozen Cloud Asgard. They only take in female disciple because the female's constitution leaned toward Yin while they were also forbidding any type of love between male and female, going so far as to believe that if one were to become even colder, their Frozen Cloud Arts would get stronger.
Although Meng still didn't understand this world too much, he wanted to go and have a laugh at those who are leading Frozen Cloud Asgard.
'Personality needs to be cold so that their arts can be stronger? What kind of bullshit is this? They are just slaves to their own power. They are the ones cultivating, they should be the ones deciding what to do and not. Completely erasing yang from their body will only cause them to die. Even if they are training in Frozen Cloud Arts, their own body must feel like it's freezing. What a painful yet weak way of cultivating...If their way of thinking would be true, does it mean members of Burning Heaven Clan should always be horny during the fight? Haha'
'Let this a newcomer to a cultivating world show you how it should be done! Everyone is focused only on one element, why should I limit myself this way?' Meng thought before he sat down at the highest place in the vicinity right under the burning sun.
