16 Profound Energy split into 2 parts?

Meng was sitting in a cross-legged position with closed eyes and an utterly tranquil expression. The profound energy in the air slowly started moving towards Meng however he didn't absorb any of it, instead, a dark purple aura appeared around him which was the color of his neutral profound energy. The dark purple aura around him slowly started to leak out into the air.

Meng was trying his best to reject all the energy from around him and only wanted to accept the specific energy from the highest point. His profound energy kept leaking out of his body however he still couldn't feel any energy entering his body, despite this fact, he kept rejecting the energy around him. The biggest problem for him was that he couldn't sense the specific energy he wanted to absorb, he could only try to be nearest the place where that specific energy should be in plenty amount and that was right under the sun.

During the entire day, Meng occasionally mumbled something under his nose. Vista couldn't understand much since it almost sounded like Meng wasn't speaking any kind of language and instead was just releasing some random sounds. Vista couldn't even hear any of Meng's thoughts as if they completely disappeared, making him feel slightly lonely and bored for the first time.

The sun quickly went to sleep and the moon woke up from its slumber, hanging out right above Meng. At that moment, he started mumbling something once again before he stopped after a few seconds.

After 24 hours passed by, not a single visible change could have been seen on Meng, however, he kept on sitting still without moving an inch. The same could be said when 48 hours passed and even after 72 hours passed since he started cultivating. Vista by now was slightly worried since Meng still had yet to eat anything and even if he had richer profound energy and enhanced organs, it wouldn't help him that much. Not to mention, by now, his profound strength even downgraded back to the first stage!

Although Meng spent already 3 days without drinking or eating, his expression remained the same, tranquil as ever. From afar, the same dragon was occasionally taking a look at what Meng was doing but he couldn't understand him at all, however, the dragon had a feeling that if he tried to attack Meng right now, he would receive the wrath of heavens and it wasn't just because of the blood oath, it was primal fear of feeling something unknown.

5th day of nothing but Meng's occasional mumbling...Vista was already considering whether to interrupt Meng but he wasn't sure if he would be able to even wake him up. The current Meng didn't seem to be present with his mind and soul. To Vista, it felt like he was inside a soulless body that was still functioning.

6th day, the biggest change yet appeared.

'?!! W-What is that?!' The dragon who was getting slightly bored widened his eyes with a hint of fear inside them.

Two big gates formed out of faint energy appeared behind Meng's back. One on his left side and another on his right side. The gates were about 5 meters tall and 2 meters wide, they were hovering above the ground and were very faint as if they were just an illusion, however, the most distinctive thing about them was that...the left one was made out of pure bright amber-colored energy with the small frames of dark blue-gray color, giving other people warm yet dangerous hot feelings. The gate on his right, on the other hand, was made out of completely dark blue-gray energy with the small frames of pure bright amber color, giving people feelings of extreme coldness, death, however also comfortably cool feeling.

If some people were to choose which one to enter, most would choose the bright one as it looked safer but in truth, both were of the same danger.

Despite this change, Meng never stopped and during this change, not even his eyebrows twitched a bit.

During the night, 2 gates started slowly moving to each other and the energies started mixing together, however...

*THUNDER!* An extremely loud rumbling came out of the heavens before big lightning struck the ground right next to Meng during the clear night sky.

This caused him to frown down as sweat started dripping down his face before the gates that were previously beginning to become one were forced to get out from one another and keep their distance like the first time they appeared.

In the morning... *Huff* *huff* Meng opened his eyes and started catching his breath as if he wasn't breathing this entire week. The gates behind him already disappeared.

[Host?]

"*huff* How long have I been out?" Meng asked aloud.

[7 days straight]

"7 days straight" Both Vista and the dragon replied, this time, the dragon was looking at him more respectfully.

'Was he watching me the entire time?' Meng asked.

[Yes]

"I see...it didn't take so long and I was able to achieve half of what I wanted but unfortunately I am too weak to finish it now and even my cultivation downgraded to the first stage. Here you go, 7 pills for 7 days of watching over me. I will be leaving right now, thanks for everything." Meng stood up and threw a sack of pills towards the dragon.

"Wait, who really are you?" The dragon didn't bother to even check the pills and instead stopped Meng from leaving.

"As I said, I am Su Meng, vagabond cultivator as of now." Meng said and looked into the dragon's eyes that had a particular look inside them.

"...Don't ask. I have nothing to help you, traveling with me would be just a waste of time. I believe you will have a more fruitful time cultivating inside that cave, there should be some kind of fire-attribute treasure for so many fire-herbs to grow there. You should stay here." Meng understood the dragon's worries so he replied honestly before slowly leaving the mountain peak. The dragon only watched his back for a few seconds before returning to the cave with the pills.

The dragon had very mixed feelings from meeting Meng, he couldn't see through Meng and when Meng had a chance to kill him, Meng chose just to simply negotiate. The dragon still looked down on other humans but Meng was the exception he was willing to make.

The moment Meng got out of the dragon's sight, he immediately took food and water out of the inventory and started stuffing his mouth like a hamster.

'Fuck my life, 7 days straight without eating or drinking!' Meng thought with a mouth full of food before he glanced at the sky with narrowed eyes.

Meng noticed 5 people using the Profound Floating Technique, flying towards the peak of the mountain.

'Are they here for the dragon? Well, it's none of my business, although it would be a waste if "my" pills were to end in their hands, those pills are no longer mine anyway...Plus I wonder if they can find anyone who can identify the pill and discover its effects.' Meng thought before he shrugged his shoulders and continued devouring the food from his inventory. Although the food was quite simple as for example dried meat, he still greatly enjoyed it due to his hunger.

"Aaah, finally full..." After a few minutes, Meng released a satisfied moan while patting his stomach with a satisfied smile.

[Host, what exactly changed? I can still feel the same rich profound energy inside the host's profound veins. To me, it looks like nothing happened and the host only downgraded to the first stage.]

'First of all, it seems like I have 22 opened profound entrances so a great number of them were opened in the process. And the second, my profound energy inside my body was split up into 2 parts, the left side and the right side. I was unsuccessful in blending them together but I guess I expected that much.' Meng explained before he stood up from the ground and closed his eyes while clenching his fists.

The next moment he opened his eyes, his red eyes changed to radiating amber color while his pupils changed from dull black to dark blue-gray. When one looked closely into his pupils, they could see something moving inside them, as if slightly sparkling dust was gently and slowly moving in the air inside his pupils. While his pupils looked unimaginably deep as an abyss itself, his irises looked like radiating suns ready to scorch anything they look at.

[Host...this is-] Before Vista's surprised voice could continue, Meng interrupted him.

"Yin and Yang energies! Absorbing them was harder than I would imagine becoming a god in this world, I couldn't sense them so I had to reject all energies I actually could sense and hope that some energies will actually enter my body. Yin and Yang are everywhere however they are already blended together so absorbing just Yin or Yang would be impossible, at least for me. I had to try my luck and try to absorb energy directly from the sun and moon however...now, I can sense them."

[Then what about Frozen Cloud Arts? I thought that they are mostly just Yin]

'Yin and Yang can't exist without each other, Frozen Cloud Arts can't consist of only Yin because wherever is Yin, there is also Yang. The same about Fire profound techniques, the structure of fire profound energy consist of mostly Yang with the spect of Yin. In my opinion, the higher realm you achieve in Fire Laws means more Yang and less Yin in your fire profound techniques.' Meng explained his own outlook on this.

[Then the host is able to use all elements?]

'Hah! I wish, I failed at blending those energies together so they split up into 2 parts. As of now, I can probably only use water and fire element as they are the closest elements to Yin and Yang, for something like lightning, I will have to blend these energies inside me together and also find the right ratio to create the lightning element. However, in the future, it shouldn't be impossible for me to create anything I want.' Meng thought with a faint smile before he decided to finally slowly move on from this Scarlet Dragon Mountain Range.
