"... Search and rescue operation completed, one target found... Identity Confirmed, vice commander of the 31st Imperial Legion of Viltrum, Triton." A robotic voice woke me up, I opened my eyes and saw a floating robot performing a scan on me with holographic lights.

It took a moment for me to focus and remember everything from before.

"Age, 300 years old. Status: Minor fractures in the skull, healing almost complete. Ready for duty." The robotic voice continued.

'300 years old?!' I was shocked to hear the age of this body but then remembered Viltrumites aged for thousands of years.

Noticing the pain in my head was mostly gone, I stood up and observed my surroundings, taking note that most of the blood on my body had dried up. I was at the center of a crater.

The sky had the same two stars, making me sure I was still on the planet from before. Sighing in relief that I was alive, and with no Kryptonian being in sight, I relaxed and began to check out the spider-shaped robot.

"Commander Anissa status: MIA. Report Sent to Viltrum Central Command. Vice Commander Triton, Await orders." The robot then silently flew beside me and hovered there. I walked a few steps ahead, and it followed me.

Understanding that the robot was some tool for communication between Viltumites, I let it be and decided to make a mental list of what I had to do.

First, I needed to figure out how to use my powers to some good level of mastery, and quickly, I didn't want to be helpless in case something came up. I was in a warzone, afterall.

Second, I needed more information, just what the hell was going on here? Why were two fictional races at war, and just how bad was the situation for me... Based on my understanding of the races, I knew Kryptonians were just too overpowered, but on the other hand, Viltrumites were a race of war and not to be underestimated. Since I had become one, I had to take an interest and find a way to survive and run as far as I could.

No galaxy or universe would survive a war between these two races, especially if the population of these two numbered above thousands, a dozen were enough to ruin galaxies, let alone millions going at each other. Just imagining it made me shudder, 'I can't particate in a war, I have to get as far away as possible.' I thought.

I didn't have illusions of grandeur, it is fine to think of oneself as a hero and imagine saving the day, but when you face a punch that can shatter a planet, you run, no matter what.

But there was also a problem If I ran, I would be labeled a traitor and Viltrumites would hunt me down. That was equally bad. Was I confident I could evade them and vanish? No, I didn't even know where I was.

My situation did not look good at all. My choices were to fight in a war or become a fugitive. With a deep breath, I put it in the back of my mind. I needed more information to plan ahead and decide on what to do.

However, everything had to wait. First came testing my powers and getting familiar with using them.

I walked out of the crater with the robot following me.

I saw the ruins of the city I had found myself in, it was even worse than before. Dozens more of the buildings had collapsed, and a few mountains had been destroyed in the far distance. There were no more screams, and the alien-looking body parts laying around had begun rotting. A few days had passed at least...

I nearly threw up as the smell and sight hit me, but managed to hold back from the fear of the robot being capable of spying on me. I had heard the woman from before say something about someone betraying them, Viltrumites would not be betrayed twice, it was not entirely impossible for all sorts of communication tools and technology to be used to make sure no one betrayed the Empire again.

I had to be as paranoid and smart as possible to survive. Acting like how I expected the vice commander of an army of a warrior race would be hard but not impossible, first I had to talk as little as possible and not do anything stupid.

I approached a big piece of metallic structure used to reinforce the buildings on this planet near me, under it were a few dozen crushed corpses, it had surely fallen on them from a high altitude, and seeing the cracks on the ground confirmed my thoughts. I estimated the weight to be a few dozen tons at least.

Since I did want to raise a commotion and attract a Kryptonian here, I couldn't punch things and make sound, I decided to lift something to make sure I was strong, then try flying. I was not sure if there were any enemies near my position, the Kryptonian from before and the female Viltrumite were missing so I assumed they took their battle elsewhere.

'Here comes nothing...' I thought and grabbed it with both hands, slowly increasing my strength and trying to lift it.

I instantly felt a striking difference between this body and my human one from before. When one tries to lift something as a human, there is a certain pressure and strain on the muscles and one can feel it. But as a Viltrumite, I didn't feel such a thing even though I could feel the strength output of my body increased, it was a bizarre feeling.

My grip bent the metal, and I saw with wide eyes the structure slowly rising, I didn't feel anything as if I had just lifted a piece of paper. I lifted the whole thing above my head, not feeling a thing.

I was amazed and very excited, who had never dreamt of having super strength? It was a dream that had come true. Since I walked normally like on Earth, I knew the gravity was roughly the same and not lower, which meant I had just lifted dozens of tons like it was nothing without any strain and difficulty.

Just as I smiled, I saw my reflection in the blood pool that had formed under it from the crushed bodies and now was in front of me. The reflection was a handsome young man in his early to mid-twenties with the body of a Greek god, lean and very muscular, with straight black hair in a crew cut, and blue eyes.

I stared at what I looked like with wide eyes, feeling very creeped out, maybe it was the blood as the reflective surface, or the fact that the face was someone else's... But it did not make me feel good, the whole atmosphere of this city was very sinister due to all the death.

My mood plunged down, the bloody sight before me making me remember just where I was.

Suddenly, the silent robot beside me spoke, "Attention, Orders from Central Command: Triton, you are now the commander of the 31st Legion temporarily till Anissa returns and if she is dead, you will remain commander, gather the Legion and retreat to planet Oribu, we have found clues about Voltigen's Star destroyer, it is somewhere on planet Eonia in your sector, the details will be sent to your personal communicator drone, secure the weapon and bring it to Viltrum, glory to the Empire."

'Fuck...' I thought and looked at the robot, it slowly floated to my arm and transformed into a watch, tightly securing itself on my arm. I put down the metallic structure slowly to not make any noise, my mind in a panic.

'How am I supposed to find other Viltrumites, how should I act when I find them to not appear suspicious, how do I navigate space, and most important of all, how am I supposed to lead a warrior race when I have never fought and can't yet fly, let alone win against Kryptonians... I am so dead.'

I had no idea what to do...
