Meeting V and Jackie

They took the cab when John asks Misty, "Where do we go first to buy a house or find your friend for the chip?"

"The chip I would say. I can't really afford to buy you an apartment," says Misty as John leans forward.

"El Coyote Cojo," says John to the driver and he begins to drive when Misty looks at him confused.

"I thought you were new to Night City," says Misty as Nesiara smiles at her.

"John is the know-it-all of the group. The moment you told him where we are he already went through his mind to remember the key places of this city," says Nesiara explain to Misty that John is the brain of the two while she is the heart.

They soon arrived at the Coyote Cojo and Misty pays the driver before they are let out of the cab. They stood before the Coyote Cojo when Misty seemed more nervous than before.

"Mama Welles won't like to see me here," says Misty as John and Nesiara looked at her confused.

"Is she Jackie's mother?" asks Nesiara as Misty nods.

"Yeah, parents-in-law can be quite difficult. If you don't believe me ask my sons-in-law, they needed to make sure that nothing big happened while the big bear was around," says Nesiara pointing at John.

"I was just making sure that they get married to a man that loves them as much as they love him," says John defending his behavior when John looks at Misty.

"To tell you the trust if I had still a son that isn't married off I would present to you since you are a sweet and caring girl," says John petting her shoulder not wanting to ruin her hairstyle.

"You barely know me," says Misty as John smiles.

"That might be true but I have read about you and everyone in this world before. The next best person would be another girl but she is into girls," says John as he walked towards the door.

He opens it and he says, "Old School, I like this place."

They walked to the bar and sat down when the barkeep turns around and sees Misty and says, "Did you close already, Misty. You are lucky 'tu suegra' (your mother-in-law) isn't around."

"I had to close earlier today, Pepe. I got visitors from Atlanta. They want to try to make a living in NC," says Misty as Pepe took a close look at John and Nesiara.

"They don't have synthetics, am I right?" asks Pepe as John leans forward.

"That's right," says John as Pepe leans forward as well.

"If that is the case don't mess with the Maelstroms. They are some crazy bastards," says Pepe giving John and Nesiara some advice since they are new in the city.

"We will keep that in mind," says Nesiara as Pepe serves them some cold beer.

"Those are on the house since you are new and friends of Misty. Just don't tell the boss know," says Pepe as Nesiara begins to drink her beer.

"You both don't look so old why are you calling me a girl?" asks Misty quietly as both Nesiara and John chuckle from hearing her.

"I am at least reaching the hundreds while Nesiara should be in her hundred and sixties maybe even more," says John to Misty without Pepe hearing him.

"I used to be the younger one of the two of us before. John is normally a year older than me but I was trapped in a place that made me go through difficult times," says Nesiara as she looks at Misty and plays with the beer bottle she was holding.

"If you are that old it means-" says Misty shocked when John stops her.

"Not really, I used some wishing orbs to wish for Eternal Youth for our family which includes my daughters- and sons-in-law," says John as he was holding an empty bottle of beer when he puts a small nugget of gold on the counter.

"Can I get another round?" asks John as Pepe looks at the nugget and pockets it away while his eyes turn blue for a moment.

"Here you go, tell if you want another one," says Pepe as he served them another round.

"So when are we going to meet with Jackie?" asks Nesiara as she looked at Misty.

"He should be on the way," says Misty as they continued drinking when some people enters the bar and Misty stood up because she knew just from hearing their voice who it was.

John and Nesiara turned around and they saw a stocky man with brown hair and green eyes and beside him was a woman with red hair and steel blue eyes.

They were openly carrying their guns in their holsters as if it was normal which didn't surprise John and Nesiara since everyone they see in this bar was carrying a gun except for Misty.

Misty walked towards them and hugged them before bringing them over and saying, "John and Nesiara, this is Jackie and V. V and Jackie, those two are John and Nesiara. They are friends of mine."

"Nice to meet you. I never heard Misty talking about you two before," says Jackie a bit suspicious since Misty was quite open about her friends.

"We weren't friends but just some acquaintances before," says John as Misty nods.

"That's right, John and Nesiara are Mercs like you two," says Misty as V and Jackie looked at them.

"Where are your weapons?" asks V feeling that something was fishy about them.

John moved his hand into his inner pocket when he summoned Yamato into his hand and pulled it out slowly putting it on the counter.

Nesiara, on the other hand, didn't have that problem as she pulled her guns out of their holsters and put them on the counter.

V and Jackie were still suspicious when Misty says, "I told them you could help them with something."

"And that something is?" asks Jackie suspicious as John stood up.

"Misty told us that you could get us a chip in which we can save our money," says John showing his neck to Jackie and V who see that John's body wasn't augmented before.

"Are you a Nomad?" asks V curious now.

"No, but it seems you were one," says John pointing at a place where before a patch used to decorate.

"Yes, used to ride with the Bakkers. But if you aren't a Nomad what are you then?" asks V when John walks to the counter and picks his sword up.

Nesiara put her guns back into their holsters and John says, "Let us talk somewhere else."

"I know the right place," says Jackie as he took the lead.

He brought them out through the backdoor and they walked the backstreet down until reaching a garage which he opens and he says, "Welcome to my hideout."

Everyone enters the garage which was a bit messy but normal since it was a man-cave. John walked towards the wall and leans against it. Nesiara uses the bench which Jackie normally uses for bench pressing.

V was leaning against another wall while Jackie leans against his tool bench with Misty removing some of the magazines to sit down beside him.

"Is this safe enough?" asks Jackie sarcastically as Nesiara stretches her hand out and a barrier appears around them.

Everyone was surprised except for the couple when V asks, "What the fuck did you just use?"

"Magic, it is quite handy to deal with enemies. But right now I used a barrier so nobody can overhear our conversation," says Nesiara as V and Jackie looked at Misty for an explanation.

"Don't look at Misty. She is quite innocent and wanted to help us since we don't come from around here," says John as Jackie and V were now even more confused.

"It is not that they are from here it is that they are from nowhere," says Misty as Jackie and V were now completely gone.

"What do you mean with they are from nowhere?" asks Jackie confused.

"She means to say that we aren't from this Universe," says John as both Jackie and V began to laugh out loud thinking that John and Nesiara were actors that Misty paid to prank them.

"Right, and I am from Mars," says V making fun of them.

"I would be serious if I were you, Valerie. Death is looming over you and Jackie," says Nesiara making both pull their gun out when they find out that Nesiara wasn't on the bench any longer.

They felt something cold pressed against their throat and Nesiara whispers into their ears and says, "Try something funny again and she will find you."

Nesiara removes the scythes from their throat as the merc buddies touched their throat to make sure that it really happened.

"Who are you really? No human can move that fast even with augmentations," says Jackie as John chuckles from hearing that.

"Like said before we are from another world and we need your help," says John as Nesiara puts her scythes back on the belt.

"Why do you need our help?" asks V as she looked at them confused.

"We need an identity and money. We have money but not a way to use it since we don't have an identity. Then we need a way to use our money which in your world goes everything digital and by using your mind," says Nesiara as John nods.

"We need a place to stay after all and we need to find out which year and month we have," says John as Jackie looks at them.

"We have the sixth of January of the year 2077. Why is it that important?" asks Jackie as John flinches giving Jackie and V a bad feeling.

"You will find out in three months. Also, let us try to be friends since we will all depend on each other in the future," says Nesiara seriously.

"And how do you expect to do that?" asks V as Nesiara stands up and walks towards her.

"I am Nesiara Crownguard and he is my husband John Crownguard. It is nice to meet you two," says Nesiara stretching her hand towards V.

"I am Valerie, but everyone calls me V. I hope you will do the same," says V as she takes her hand before Nesiara turns to Jackie.

"Jackie Welles, nice to meet you both," says Jackie shaking Nesiara's hand as well.

"Now that we are all friends, how are we going to get some identities?" asks John as Jackie and V were thinking before they remember someone that can help.

"I think T-Bug should be able to help here," says V as Jackie nods.

"She should but that will cost you a lot," says Jackie as John pulls out a gold bar.

"Money is no problem for us. You are talking to a former Queen after all," says John joking about it while the group looked at them shocked.

"She is Royalty?" asks V as John nods.

"Exactly, but right now our daughter is the Queen," says John as he gives Jackie the gold bar while saying, "Just ask your friend if she can do it by today so we can begin with our preparations."

"Preparations for what?" asks V as John looked now serious.

"Preparations so we can avoid the worst-case scenario for both of you," says John seriously as he looks at Misty.

"I don't want to see our common friend cry because both of you died back-to-back," says John meaning Misty who already knew that Jackie would did but not when and were.

They stayed for a while as Nesiara removes the barrier so V could talk to T-Bug about what they needed for the couple.
