The temptation of billionaires

Wendy first met the billionaire Dirk at a party hosted by her boyfriend, Glenn. In order to retaliate against Glenn's unfaithfulness, Wendy had a one-night stand with Dirk, and their lives turned into a complex adult game, a high-risk gamble, where the boundaries of right and wrong became blurred, and no one emerged unscathed. However, beneath the surface of this adult game, there is a story of redemption. Dirk had secretly admired Wendy since childhood, and this article reveals how their relationship is fundamentally a mutual journey of redemption. Dirk is a product of arranged marriage by his parents, leading to a lack of love and indifference in his upbringing. It was Wendy's father who gave him a glimmer of paternal love, which initially sparked Dirk's interest in Wendy. Meanwhile, Wendy's life underwent a significant transformation during her high school years; her parents tragically passed away, leaving only her and her aunt. They became mutually dependent, shaping Wendy's character. This story unveils the passionate, complex, and ultimately redemptive journey of two souls intertwined by fate and environment, exploring themes of love, desire, and the pursuit of emotional healing.

What Does Your Boyfriend Do?

"Have you ever considered coming to work at my Visionary Vortex Inc?"      Dirk suddenly asked.

Considering Wendy's education and work experience, she could actually join Visionary Vortex Inc, but her position probably wouldn't be very high.       Besides, she had been with Future Group for so long and was on the path to becoming a department head, even though it was just a subsidiary of Future Group.       It was a position she had been striving to reach.

If she went to Visionary Vortex Inc and things didn't work out with Dirk or she didn't like it there, would she have to look for another job?

Dirk seemed to know what she was going to say.       "Actually, you know in your heart, your prospects at Future Group are limited.       They're such an old-fashioned conglomerate, resistant to change, and they don't embrace modern management practices.       Plus, there's a clear gender bias in the workplace.       But at Visionary Vortex Inc, with me, you can achieve much more than at Future Group."

This was the second time tonight that Dirk had brought up her future plans, but it all seemed to be under his watchful eye.

However, Wendy didn't intend to engage in a tit-for-tat discussion with him.       From his words, she could sense that Dirk was making concessions and not just throwing money at her.

"But isn't Dirk known for not accepting unwritten rules?"

"That's for others;       there's a difference between acquaintances and strangers.       You can think about it."

He didn't make it a definitive statement, and Wendy didn't need to outright refuse him.       Many times, she didn't like making binary choices, but if she had no other options, and Dirk was willing to offer her a way out, she didn't have to be at odds with money.

The company arrived quickly, and this time, Dirk didn't park the car so far away, reaching the building directly downstairs. Wendy opened the car door and asked him to wait for a moment as she quickly returned.

Dirk nodded, watched her walk into the company, and then turned to open his phone, only to find that Colin, that guy, had gone crazy again.       He had sent dozens of Facebook messages, live-streaming Sophia's madness when she realized that both he and Wendy had disappeared, asking if he was with Wendy.

Dirk only replied with a location to him, "Working overtime."

Colin...

What's going on with you two?  Are you practicing some new form of Platonic relationship, spending the whole night working overtime instead of go on a date?  You truly are Mr. Dirk.  I must be getting old.

Dirk closed the chat window;  conversing with Colin was truly unproductive.

Wendy quickly came out and greeted the security guard at the entrance.

"Sorry for the wait."

"Here are your leader's coordinates."

Wendy sent Simona's location to Dirk, and it would take about twenty minutes to get there.

"You should rest for a while."

"It's fine;  I won't be able to sleep for more than a few minutes anyway."

Simona's house was quite quiet, located in the rear villa area.  After Dirk parked the car, Wendy softly said, "I'll be back soon."

"Sure."

With Wendy, the man got out of the car and watched her enter before leaning against the car to smoke.

Simona was clearly a bit impatient.  As soon as Wendy entered, she took the documents and started reading.  After Wendy finished her phone call and had completed the communication, Simona finally said to Wendy, "I'm sorry for calling you out tonight and forgetting to offer you a drink."

Wendy smiled, "It's part of the job.  If there's nothing else, Simona, I'll take my leave."

"Shall I call a car for you?"  Simona offered, reaching for her phone.

"No need," Wendy replied, and Simona looked at her.

"I came here with a friend."

Simona, being well-informed, asked, "Boyfriend? What does he do?"

Seeing her curious expression, Wendy, with a forced smile, said, "He's really not my boyfriend."

"In that case, he must be a suitor. Don't worry, I'm not so strict that I won't allow my subordinates to date. It seems I've interrupted your evening," Simona got up, preparing to see her off.

Wendy was also worried about keeping Dirk waiting for too long and hurriedly walked out.

"What happened to your foot?"

"I accidentally sprained it this afternoon."

"Do you need to take a leave then?"

"No, it'll probably be fine by tomorrow. see you tomorrow," Wendy waved to her and then walked toward Dirk's car.

From a distance, Simona couldn't clearly see what the person looked like, but he was tall with long legs, leaning casually against the car. His posture and figure made it evident that he was a handsome guy. Just from his silhouette, Simona felt he was even more impressive than Glen.

Simona didn't watch for long; she had planned to close the door but as soon as she saw Wendy approaching the man, he lifted her face and gave her a passionate kiss, in a very passionate manner, and she could even see a hint of crimson between his fingers.

It was like a scene from a movie. Simona waited for Wendy to pull away before shifting her gaze and, blushing, closed the door.

"Did the people from your company leave?" her husband came down from upstairs.

Simona smiled gently, "Yes, and they claimed it wasn't her boyfriend who dropped her off, but they were passionately kissing at the door like wildfire."

"I saw it from the balcony just now, I even thought it was Dirk; he looks so much like him."

Simona was pouring water at the moment and, upon hearing this, she gave him a glare, "Are you seeing things in the middle of the night? Why would Dirk be here? We're not in the same circle."

Wendy is undeniably beautiful with an exceptional charisma.  She could easily pursue a star as a celebrity.  However, her being with Dirk, she could easily secure her position in the company even without his help.  There's no need for her to go through all this trouble.

No one understood better than Simona how challenging Wendy's early days at the company were.  She was the first to arrive every day and the last to leave.  Even when eating at the cafeteria, she would be reviewing materials.  She approached every task with dedication, unlike some who entered through connections, casually handling their work, and frustrating others who couldn't get them to take it seriously.

That's why Simona was willing to give her a chance.  If it weren't for Wendy suddenly starting a relationship with Glen, she should rightfully be in Henry's managerial position.

Simona's husband leaned out of the window, but the car had already driven away.  His expression was strange.  He thought it was indeed bizarre for Dirk to appear here, but the resemblance was uncanny.

Wendy's heart was still pounding.  As she left Simona's house earlier, she saw Dirk leaning against the car, his long legs crossed casually, cigarette in hand, wearing a wristwatch.  He exhaled a puff of smoke, and when he looked at her, his gaze was like that of a wolf waiting for its owner to claim it.

In an instant, her heart softened.  A good exterior was so important.

Wendy had just reached his side when Dirk wrapped his arm around her waist and kissed her.  It began as light, gentle pecks, but as time passed, his thumb traced the corner of her lips.  His eyes were fixed on her, and for a moment, Wendy felt as though he truly cared about her.

There was the sound of the night breeze rustling through the treetops, occasionally carrying the scent of flowers in the air, along with the commotion of children upstairs complaining about their homework.

They seemed like a couple in their own little world, sheltered from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, holding each other closely.

But as Wendy's mind flirted with these thoughts, she quickly doused herself with a metaphorical bucket of cold water.  Falling in love with a friend was absurd, especially when that friend was Dirk.

"Let's go back," she lowered her head and whispered.

Dirk held her hand.  "Sure."
