The temptation of billionaires

Wendy first met the billionaire Dirk at a party hosted by her boyfriend, Glenn. In order to retaliate against Glenn's unfaithfulness, Wendy had a one-night stand with Dirk, and their lives turned into a complex adult game, a high-risk gamble, where the boundaries of right and wrong became blurred, and no one emerged unscathed. However, beneath the surface of this adult game, there is a story of redemption. Dirk had secretly admired Wendy since childhood, and this article reveals how their relationship is fundamentally a mutual journey of redemption. Dirk is a product of arranged marriage by his parents, leading to a lack of love and indifference in his upbringing. It was Wendy's father who gave him a glimmer of paternal love, which initially sparked Dirk's interest in Wendy. Meanwhile, Wendy's life underwent a significant transformation during her high school years; her parents tragically passed away, leaving only her and her aunt. They became mutually dependent, shaping Wendy's character. This story unveils the passionate, complex, and ultimately redemptive journey of two souls intertwined by fate and environment, exploring themes of love, desire, and the pursuit of emotional healing.

a guy like this must be super boring

"You caused this! It's all your fault!" Vanessa exclaimed as she picked up her bag, preparing to strike Wendy. Luckily, Mandy had sensed that something was amiss and immediately grabbed Vanessa from behind. "Come and help," she urged.

A few male colleagues quickly pulled Vanessa away as she attempted to lunge at Wendy.

"It's your fault that I'm in this mess!  I won't let you off the hook!  Wendy, you just wait!"

Wendy glanced at her colleagues' perplexed expressions and said, "Rumors stop with wise people.  Don't blame me for your own misdeeds.  If you think it's me, you can always report it to the police and let them investigate."

At this point, Wendy smirked, "I forgot to tell you, the company already found out that you were the one spreading false information about me on the forum.  Rest assured, if you don't let me go, I welcome you to report me to the police.  But as for the defamation case against me, I'll have my lawyer officially sue you."

Her colleagues were stunned.  While they knew Vanessa often gossiped behind people's backs, they didn't expect her to go to such extremes.

Of course, Wendy's typically strong approach had just been revealed.  She was usually quiet, but when she decided to report to the police or file a lawsuit, nobody dared to say anything against her.

Vanessa was also dumbfounded.  She had never seen someone so unapologetic.  Wasn't she afraid of being labeled as ruthless by others?

Simona came out of her office, saw Vanessa causing a scene, and immediately called the security team.  She ordered them to watch Vanessa and remove all her belongings from the office before she could leave.

Normally, when employees were let go, the Human Resources department handled it discreetly to save face.  But now, with things escalating like this, Vanessa had no future in H City.  No reputable company would want to hire someone with such a tainted reputation.

Vanessa gave Wendy a final intense glare before leaving.   As she passed by Wendy's desk, she whispered, "Don't think that just because you've got Dirk, you're invincible.   You're nothing more than someone he's sleeping with.   I'll be waiting for you to fall, and then you'll be even worse off than me."

Wendy had no intention of climbing the corporate ladder through her relationship with Dirk.   Even if she were to fall in the future, it wouldn't be related to Dirk.

Wendy was used to dealing with people like Vanessa, those who were incompetent and furious.

"Let's go, we have a meeting," Wendy grabbed her files and left Vanessa with nothing but her departing figure.

Mandy followed her, giving her a thumbs-up.   "You were so cool just now.   I think I'm falling in love with you, babe."

"Joanna's flight is coming in tonight.   After the meeting, let's go pick her up together."

Mandy's eyes lit up.   "The Food Goddess is coming back, I'm going to trick her into a feast.   I've been eating salad for half a month, I'm practically withering away."

After the meeting, Wendy and Mandy went to the company's parking lot.   Before getting into the car, Wendy checked it thoroughly, with Mandy helping out.

"I didn't find anything here.   Your luck is something else, a lousy ex-boyfriend and a lousy colleague.   You're so afraid they might tamper with your car."

The car had been returned to Wendy by Roan later.   Wendy opened the door.   "I'm having a bad year;   there's nothing I can do about it."

Mandy fastened her seatbelt.   "By the way, Glen's case hasn't been decided yet, have you seen him at the police station?   I heard that Glen's mother has been pulling strings everywhere, trying to get her son and husband out."

Wendy was genuinely concerned about the Glen family's situation, especially because if they managed to evade justice, Glen would undoubtedly come after her.

"Where did you hear that from?"

"I guess it came from higher-ups in the company.   I overheard it in the break room.  the secretaries in the company know everything."

Wendy breathed a sigh of relief, which meant they didn't intend to support the new top management.  Otherwise, these matters wouldn't have leaked out.

They had a stop-and-go journey to the airport.  When they arrived at the airport's pickup area, a swarm of reporters flocked in.  Coming out of the exit, a group of people approached, with a man at the forefront, and it was Dirk.  Mandy, standing beside Wendy, marveled, "What window did God close for Dirk?  I look around and feel like he's winning at life."

Dirk had his own business empire, with no siblings, and he was the sole heir.  He had no pressure to become the CEO.  With the combined resources of his strong parents falling solely on him, it wasn't surprising that reporters swarmed him whenever he made a move.

Wendy watched Dirk, surrounded by the crowd of reporters, his gaze brushing over her with indifference, as though all those relentless nights were just a dream.

Suddenly, someone tapped her on the shoulder, and Joanna removed her sunglasses.  She was dressed in straps that were completely unsuitable for the season in H City, with new hair color.  She gave Wendy a passionate kiss.  "I saw two beauties from afar and thought when did H City have such heavenly beings?  But on a closer look, they are all my sisters."

Mandy and Joanna chatted excitedly, holding hands and walking out.  Joanna suddenly said, "Dirk is also returning today.  He's sitting in the seat next to mine.  He even looked over just now."

Mandy was surprised.  "Oh, you know Dirk?  I didn't know."

Joanna raised an eyebrow.  "I know him, but he might not remember me.  We were in different graduating classes when I was in school, and later when I approached him at an event in the R country, he was so cold.  He asked me to contact his assistant if I had any questions!"

Joanna rolled her eyes.  "Finding a partner like him, if it weren't for his wealth, it would be tough to find one even in the next life."

Mandy shrugged.  "With that face, you're worried about his romantic luck.  You should worry about what we're eating tonight."

Joanna chuckled, "You make a good point, hahaha."  She hopped into Wendy's car, and as they exited the parking lot, a convoy of cars drove past.  Mandy, envious of Dirk but also curious, began filling Joanna in on the events that had transpired while she was abroad.

"What on earth?  That jerk Glen still dares to harass you?  What a dog of a man!"  Joanna's voice rose.

"Never mind, they're all in jail now. Let's not talk about them while we're having a get-together." Wendy quickly doused the flames of conversation, and Joanna nodded in agreement, understanding the logic. "It just so happens that a restaurant contacted me today, inviting me to explore their establishment."

One of the perks of hanging out with Joanna was that no matter how exclusive a restaurant was, she could secure a reservation, and they often dined there for free.

As they entered the city, Wendy's phone buzzed.  Mandy picked it up.  "You've got a message."

Wendy, concerned that it might be Simona, asked, "Could you check who it's from?"

Mandy took a quick glance.  "Oh, it's that person who added you the other day, asking where you are."

Wendy paused.  "No need to respond."

Mandy's eyes lit up with curiosity.  "Wait, something's up, isn't it?"

Joanna set her powder down.  "Well, isn't it normal to have something up?  Let me see who this person is."

Mandy quickly handed the phone to Joanna, and the two of them began pondering the enigmatic friend circle, which only contained reposts of Dirk Group's news.

"I bet a guy like this must be super boring."

"I've lost the enthusiasm for chatting."

"But how can a handsome guy not have any photos at all?"

They exchanged comments, and Wendy didn't know what to say. She just hoped that Dirk wouldn't send any more messages. After all, he was only looking for her because of that matter.

"We're here, stop analyzing." Wendy retrieved her phone.

However, as she looked up, she saw the familiar vehicle that had left the airport earlier.
