Chapter 2

"Adrion, wake up, please," I heard a voice begging, before I slowly started opening my eyes. Everything was blurry for a moment, but after a short moment it became clear again. I started seeing ashen white hair, and after a couple of seconds a face became clear to me, there were those beautiful blue eyes, I was looking at Nyx, a childhood friend of mine, she is leaning over me, looking worried into my eyes.

"Hey Nyx, what's wrong?" I asked not totally understanding why she looked so worried.

"Adrion, you are awake!" she said with a big smile on her face and pulled me into a hug. "I found, you were lying here unconscious about 5 minutes ago, I was worried that you are hurt."

I hugged her back, when suddenly I remembered what just happened and immediately started looking around. "Nesu, where are you?" Worry started to creep up on my face as I kept looking around for the dragon.

"Who is Nesu?" Nyx asked surprised as I finally spotted the little dragon coming out of crack between some stones, he must have been scared of when Nyx arrived and hid there.

I immediately got up and walked over to him, "You scared me, little one" I said, now with clear relief, as I get down on my knees and start scratching his chin.

Nyx mouth dropped as she saw the young dragon and it took her a couple of minutes before she was able to speak again. "Adrion, d…d…dragon" she stuttered.

I kept petting Nesu as I turn my head towards Nyx and start speaking, "Yeah, I've just found him here right before you woke me up." And as I said this my mind started to realize what my vision really meant. I would need to travel the world and I would need to start as soon as possible. My smile started fading a little bit as this thought really kicked in.

Nyx now started to walk towards me as she seen the expression on my face change. She got down on her knees as well and put a hand on my shoulder. She smiled at me trying to hide to worry in her eyes at my changed expression and asked, "Is everything alright Adrion?"

"I've got to leave the island, Nyx" I looked at her with sadness and worry in my eyes and continue, "I am not sure when I will be back, I just know I have to leave as soon as possible." I kept looking at her for a moment longer.

It took Nyx a few seconds to reply, but eventually she managed to ask, "Why do you have to leave? Life is so good here, I don't understand." She looked at me worried and confused, why wouldn't she I've known her for practically all of my life and know I am telling her I need to leave the island and I don't know when I will return, who wouldn't be worried at that.

I took a quick breath before beginning to speak with a calm voice, "Do you remember the story of the origin of Arvesia we have been told as kids?" I asked. Nyx just nodded slightly before I continued on, "It was about a young man who found a dragons hatchling and then together they set out on a journey to finally push back the darkness," I took another breath before continuing, "Well I just found Nesu," I turned my head towards the young dragon and smile a little before I carried on, "The moment he touched my forehead, I heard an old voice telling me to travel to the North, South, East, West and Center, just like in the story"

My head dropped a little bit as I finished talking, before Nyx put her hand under my chin and slowly pushed it up so our eyes meet. She opened her mouth, but she didn't know what to say, it took her a little bit before she looked at me with a smile, "Then I gonna go with you" Her voice was full of energy, and I thought it was really sweet of her to offer to join me, but could I really let her join me, it might be dangerous and I would never forgive myself if she gets hurt.

I looked at her for a second before I started trying to talk this idea out of her, even though I knew I wouldn't been able to, once Nyx has set her mind on something not even a herd of wild horses could stop her. "That's so sweet of you, but it might be really dangerous, and I would never forgive myself if something would happen to you." I started stuttering a little bit knowing she would immediately dismiss my point.

She looked at me seemingly a little upset as she replied, "Just another reason I should join you, don't forget I am the only one here who can wield a bow." She added teasing me a little bit with her voice.

I was still worried, but I eventually sighed in defeat, "Fine, you can join me, but you better not get yourself hurt." I knew she was more than capable to look after herself, most likely I would be the one who gets himself hurt or killed in any danger.

Nyx smiled at her victory as she slowly started to stretch out her hand to pet Nesu's head. He really seemed to enjoy her attention as well as he leaned his head into her touch.

As Nesu licked Nyx hand I smiled at her for a moment and chuckled a little as I said "He seems to like you" Even though I was worried about Nyx joining me on this journey, I was also quite happy knowing she would be by my side and who knows it might turn out to be terrible boring and then I would have at least somebody to prevent me from getting insane.

A couple minutes went by when Nyx finally said "We probably should start heading back to the village here soon or the others will start worrying and don't forget we got to pack for our journey ahead"
