4 Chapter 3

I picked up Nesu and he immediately started to make himself comfortable. Nyx let a small laugh at the dragon relaxing on my shoulders, I was actually surprised how light he felt, Now don't get me wrong I definitely feel his weight on my shoulders, I would have just imagined it to be a lot more, after all he was a dragon, even though still a really young one.

"Well I guess we are ready." I said with a smile on my face, looking at Nyx. Nesu just chirped in agreement as we started to head back to town, when suddenly something came to my mind, 'how would people react when they see Nesu', it was still an open question, and if I am honest about it one I worried about. Should I hide him, or should I just walk into town like any other day trying not catch too much attention after all the sun has already set, maybe nobody would see Nesu until I reach my house.

Just at this moment Nesu started sneezing and a small flame came out of his mouth, not hot enough to burn anything, but combined with the sound of his sneeze it would definitely attract attention.

Nyx giggled a little at the sound of Nesu's sneeze and turned her head towards me, "What's bothering you now, Adrion" she sounded a little annoyed, but was clearly just teasing with the sound of her voice.

"Well I was just thinking how people would react when they saw Nesu and what would be the right way to not draw too much attention" I said smiling back at Nyx, but clearly still thinking.

"Good luck with that" she said still with a teasing voice; "He is a dragon, he will draw attention, after all nobody has seen one in a thousand years" she added now sounding a little more serious.

I looked at her for a moment before turning my head to face Nesu's head, he looked at me for a brief second and then yawned before relaxing his head on my shoulder and closing his eyes. I gave his head a quick pet and then looked back at Nyx, "I guess you are right, let us just try to catch as little attention as possible" I said smiling at her.

We walked most of the rest of the way in quite until we were able to see the first buildings of our hometown, as well as something both of us were not expecting, a giant sky ship has docked in the harbor, bigger than all ships I have ever seen, they must have room for at least a thousand people in there. It was a magnificent size that we were able to see it from all that distance and for the rest of the way we speculated where this ship has come from.

It wasn't too long until we reached the town and to our surprise, we met almost nobody, and those that we met where on the way to the harbor to take a look at this ship. We walked up to the Neighborhood where both me and Nyx lived, soon we had to part ways and I just stood there for a moment looking at Nyx.

"Good night, Adrion" She said with a smile before adding "We gonna meet right here tomorrow at sun rise and then head to the harbor to start our journey"

I looked at her for a couple more seconds before I replied with a simple "Good night, Nyx, see you in the morning." We slowly parted ways, and I walked over to the door of my aunt's and uncle's house, I slowly opened the door and asked, "Aunt Ashley, Uncle James are you at home?"

After a few seconds I saw my aunt and my uncle walking over to me. "Where have you been, Adrion it's really late, we have been worried", my aunt said as she walked over to me.

It took her a moment to see the dragon on shoulder but once she did, she stopped right in her track. "Adrion, you know there is something on your shoulder don't you", she asked not yet knowing it was a dragon.

Nesu opened his eyes at the new environment of the house and the sound of new people around him. He curiously lifted his head looking at my aunt, it was then that she realized that this thing around my head wasn't a thing at all but a dragon, she stood there for minute before she asked, "Adrion, this isn't a dragon is it?"

I just nodded and smiled and waited for my aunt to fully process the situation.

It didn't take her long, before she grasped, herself and said, "Well that's certainly an unusual creature to bring home, Adrion" she smiled before she asked, "Where did you find it?"

I looked at Nesu, for a moment before turning back to my aunt. "Well I found him by the lake in the center of the island" I said as I made my way over to the living room sitting down and pointing to a chair across from me, "Sit down please aunt Ashley I need to talk with you and uncle James."

My aunt took a seat but spoke up, "Well if you want to speak with your uncle you have to wait for him to return, he went down to the harbor to take a look at the giant ship that docked a couple hours ago."

Well my timing seemed to be perfect because just as she finished this sentence my uncle came back home, "Honey, is Adrion already at home?" he shouted as he entered through the door.

"Yeah he is right here in the living room and he wants to talk with us about something, and he has a how do I say it…dragon with him" she shouted back, but with a sweetness in her voice that you wouldn't believe she could even talk at a fraction of this loudness.

My uncle went silent for a moment, when after a few seconds he entered the living room and said with a kind, but surprised voice, "And I thought I had some ground breaking news" he said as he sat down next to my aunt and took a look at both me and Nesu.

His statement sparked my curiosity what news would he have? I asked myself as I started to speak, "Well now that you both are here, I have to tell you something" I took a quick breath, before continuing, "I will be going on a journey and I am not sure when I will be back, I just wanted both of you to know so you don't have to worry that much."

Everything went silent for a moment, both my aunt and my uncle kept looking at me and after a couple of minutes my aunt started to speak up, "We understand Adrion, I knew you would have to leave from the moment I have seen this young dragon." There was a little bit of sadness in my aunt's voice it sounded like she didn't want me to go, but she also knew that it I had to.

After my aunt finished talking my uncle asked, "When are you going to leave?", he also sounded a little sad, yet he was better at hiding his emotions than aunt was.

I looked at both of them before saying, "I will be leaving tomorrow morning, Nyx is going to join me on my trip."

"Well if you are going to leave tomorrow, I want to ask you to be careful of this big ship in the harbor, try to avoid it," my uncle took a quick breath before continuing, "You remember I told you I had some news as well, the people who arrived with this ship claim that they come from beneath the clouds, and we don't know why they have arrived just now, but it might be something to do with all of this" he added slowly.

I spent the rest of the day with my aunt and uncle, my aunt made me my favourite food, roasted potatoes with bacon, onions and cheese, before I finally went up to my room and packed the stuff I was going to need into my bag, a couple of clothes, some matches and a little bit of food. It only took me a couple of minutes to finish packing and heading to bed, after all tomorrow would be a long day, so I wanted to get as much sleep in as I could.
