Chapter: The unexpected

At last she woke up and opened her eyes. the room felt unfamiliar . she turned around and to her shock saw someone lying beside her. though she had experienced a lot but this was something new for her. yes, she often woke up in different rooms of different hotels many times but always when she opened her eyes she was always alone. but this was it was strangely different. she had many affairs in the past few years , many one night stands also but none was something like this, cause after every night she was again all alone. after starting her career as a doctor and getting separate from her parents she had changed quite a lot. in fact, she had turned into a total mess. going to bars , drinking every night and having all these affairs and one night stands with persons she did not even knew had become her daily routine life. in order to escape all the worries and darkness of her heart she always took refuge in these things , mostly alcohol which had become a source to carry on her life.

Anyhow, every time she woke up after spending the with someone she always found herself all alone. the other party had always left every time so she did not felt embarrassed at all. but this time she had to face it. the reason why she had become like this was to relieve herself from the pain she had went through so far. even though she had become a successful doctor now and her career was quite stabilized, she still could not let go the darkness of her heart. she was still kept in her past like bird trapped in a cage. all this helped her to suppress those dark desires and emotions of hers she often dreamed of.....

In the eyes of the world she was a successful doctor . a person with a worthy character and elegant and decent personality. a person with strong sense of humor and dignity, a very talented cardiologist but in reality she was nothing more than an apple which looks fresh and beautiful from outside but in fact is rotten from inside.

While she was submerged in her thoughts she suddenly realized that , that man who was lying beside her just now had woken up. she could not bring her self to look into his eyes as this was her first time like this.to her surprise he suddenly came close to her and put his hand on her forehead his hands were warm and there was softness in his touch. she couldn't bring herself to ask anything from him but then the long waiting silence finally broke and he said," looks like you still got fever ands its quite high. anyhow, now then you are finally awake let me bring something for you to eat and afterwards you can have the medicines.

Saying this he went outside the room. Ella was quite surprised, she could not understand the situation. she could not interpret what was going on. then she realized suddenly she still had her clothes on as it is and could not sense any other feeling of tiredness. then suddenly it clicked to her mind that last night while drinking at the bar she suddenly passed out and could not remember anything afterwards.

Anyways, why was she lying on the bed along with that stranger? and why did he brought her with him? why did he helped her when no one else had ever bothered to do so. in this world where people only do something that benefits them and where no one cares whether someone dies or lives, where no one do unnecessary favors, why had this person helped her out? just why didn't he ignored her like everyone else? she could not understand this fact.....

When she was still immersed in her thoughts , she felt that someone was standing close to her. she lifted her eyes to see. it was him again, standing there. he was holding a tray in his hands having a glass of water and a bowl of soup. suddenly she could not think of anything and her mind went blank. "umm! you should get up and have something to eat so that you can take your medicines, you will probably feel better this way'. he said softly.

'why?.... why are you doing all this for a total stranger like me? why are you being so kind? as long as I remember I don't know you at all." she said confused.

The man smiled softly and did not say anything at first. he put the tray on the side table and then replied, "you should better eat quickly and do not burden yourself with such thoughts we can talk about this later."

'No," she said forcibly. 'we have to talk right now. about last night, I am sorry to burden you for all this but you should not have done all this for me. I mean, you should have just leave me be and have just ignored me. you should not have brought me here with you. you....."

"What I should have done, I know that better. firstly, I did not do it for any kind of other means , I just felt like helping and so I did.' he broke into. "Now, please have this and rest for a while. you can leave as soon as you feel better."

Ella was confused by the situation. she could not interpret what was going on. why had things turned out like this? why out of nowhere this person have helped her like this? but she still obeyed what he had said , she drank the soup and took the medicines. since the medicines contained some tranquilizers she slowly went to sleep afterwards without knowing.

after a while she woke up again and saw that he was sitting on a chair beside the wall. as soon as he saw that Ella was awake he approached her and asked whether she was feeling well now. her fever had went down and she was much better now. she then thought that it was time for her to leave now. she got up and fixed her dress. then she stood up and said," well, I think I have troubled you enough, i should leave now.....thanks, by the way but as I have already said you needed not to do this to begin with."

"And I have also told you that its up to me whether I should have helped you or not". he said and smiled.

'Hah! Fine... well... what is your name? I mean I should at least know the name of the person who have helped me . Right?" she said lifting one of her eyebrow.

"Hmm... you will get to know this soon. so, don't worry about this."

"Huh?! what do you mean by that? I am sorry I can not understand."

'You will understand shortly." he said with a soft smile.

"How strange!!" she thought, 'this man keeps smiling for no reason and what the heck is all this about?"

'Humph', he grinned. 'You might think me strange or mysterious now but you will understand with time.'

'Yeah! whatever. I think its time for me to leave now. Thanks again. Goodbye! "

"Bye..." he replied with a warm smile. "and do try to take care of yourself next time." he added after wards....
