Chapter : The Realization

Ella went home silently. she seemed rather calm from the surface but there was a burning feeling in her heart deep down which she could not understand. she first thought to go to the bar to ease her mind but then she gave up the idea. maybe it was a side effect of all the efforts that Noir had exerted to pursue her. on her way, she just bought some cans of beer. she came to her apartment and threw away her stuff here and there. she placed the cans on the table beside the sofa in the lounge and sat on the floor near it. she began to drink slowly. there was a irritating feeling that was annoying her. she could not explain it but it was rather... painful. a bit too painful that she like her heart was being stabbed. maybe it was because she was once again rejected from being loved. it was not new but still why did it felt so strangely hurt. she kept drinking until she lost sense of her surroundings. she continued drinking until she felt mindless but still that pain did not went away. Why? why was this happening to her? It was not like that she had any special relation with Noir, and it was not like she had feelings for him but then why this was happening.

Maybe, because she did not expected something like this. maybe she did not expected him to fell silent and still like that. or maybe she had already lost control of her,,, heart and it did not belonged to her anymore, maybe she had already..... fallen for him.

But no matter what the real reason was it was already too late to realize it because it was of no use now.as it had already turned out like this. well,.. It was maybe her fault to ask something so strange to your male friend all of a sudden but what if he had given her a reply. just a normal and simple reply to keep her heart. was it that difficult?? she thought to herself.

That day, she kept drinking till late and until she fell asleep. she kept thinking about what had happened and had realized how she felt for Noir. next day, she woke up, got ready and went to the hospital like usual. Of course, it was Ella whom we are talking about so she pretended like nothing had happened at all. she acted like she used to every day. and one more thing was that she was used to keeping things and feelings to herself and also... to give up on them.

While she was looking the patients, she encountered Kate again. she came near her smirking and then said. " That`s strange. you are not with Dr. Noir today. otherwise you would never leave his side for even a bit. Did you had any quarrel? " she asked.

"Hah! well, it has nothing to do with you in the first place and secondly, miss Kate don`t you have anything else to do except wandering around ,keeping everyone in check and gossiping idly.' Ella replied almost annoyed.

"You.. you are crossing the lines miss Ella" she shouted and then said smirking, "Humph, well I think Dr. Noir didn`t pay any attention to you so that you are venting your anger on poor little me. but Miss Ella I already warned you not to fly so high that when you fall you won`t have anything left with you. and who told you to take such high leaps, look now that you have nothing at all." she said annoying Ella.

"Firstly, it has nothing to do with Noir and also since have you started to care for me so much. just why don`t you mind your own business. I think I heard that you were quite badly scolded by the director for not paying attention to your work properly. hmm? " Ella gave a counter attack. and like always went away while Kate still kept shouting in anger.

she went to her office and sat down to have some tea to relieve the head ache. A nurse came in and told her that someone had come to meet her and he was not a patient. she told her to let him in. After a while, he came in. it was Jayson unexpectedly. when she looked him she was very shocked but retained her composure and greeted him in.

"Did you need anything from me? sir Jayson." she asked.

"I... wanted to apologize for the other day, I realized it later on that my behavior was rude. so, I am sorry.' he said in a apologizing manner.

"That is really alright. and also it was not your fault in the first place so no need to apologize." she replied back with a smile.

"so, does that mean you have forgiven me?"

"Yes. of course."

"So,... can we be friends? " he asked hesitating.

"Hmm? Oh! sure, why not." she replied back a bit confused because she had thought that after knowing what kind of person she was no one would want to befriend her but this was rather strange .

"You must be thinking that I am being weird but really I don`t have any ill intentions." he said explaining.

"No. I can see your sincerity" she replied back.

"Actually, after you left I reflected a lot about what had happened in the park. I realized that you were a really nice person, I mean If you had wanted to deceive me you would not have told me anything about you and without you telling how would I possibly able to know about your past. but I think that you must have had a reason to do so. and beside like the saying goes that past is just a history so why should we bother looking at it and lose our PRESENT." he said and smiled

"Wow you are very good at words, sir Jayson. and also thanks for understanding me and not making me a bad a person.' she said politely.

"Then, we are good now? so how about dropping these formalities and call each other casually."

' Umm,, Sure." she said smiling. Jayson looked at her and smiled back.

" you know what, Ella? you really have a very nice heart. how come we did not meet earlier." he said a bit lowly.

"That is very kind of you to think this way about me otherwise people don`t except a person like me so easily as they think that they are a spoiler of nations and society. and about the other thing we only meet one when it is fated." she replied.

"Hmm, you are right about the later one but it is others that don`t understand you so it is their problem not yours." he said firmly.

"Yeah, Yeah, but not everyone thinks like this." she said sighing.

"Then just leave them on their on. and let us go to have a drink together. the weather is also perfect to go out for a walk. What do you say? "he asked looking at her with pleading eyes.

"Ok, fine. but don`t make that face. it really does not suit you at all." she said grinning.

"Huh! really, but I thought I was looking good because you know when ever I have to convince a girl this always works." he said joking.

"Oh my. just look at you. aren`t you afraid that I will refuse after hearing this." she said smiling and her brow.

"No, because I know that you won`t" he said smiling.

"and what made you think like that? I really can refuse right now."

'Huh! you are not serious right, dude I was just joking. besides I do not talked to girls so often." he said arguing.

"humph! look how you are back on the track" she said and started to laugh. After that they had a long chat and even joked around while walking outside. it was like that they had been friends for a very ling time. It did not felt at all that they just became friends. well, I guess life really is unexpected....
