Chapter: 8 The Secret Revealed

"Hah!" she woke up. yes, it was just another memory relapse which she often had. nothing much special. anyhow, when she looked around she found that Noir was there again. but somehow she was not angry nor surprised this time, rather she was much calm than before. seeing her patient, Noir stepped forward and said gently, "Umm... I brought you some food to eat, so... please have something."

"I don`t have any appetite now" she replied and was calm for now.

"But you should have something to eat or else your health will get worse". Noir insisted.

"Why... do you always help me? Why are you being kind to me when I was so rude to all this time.? " Ella asked Noir looking into his eyes in order to find the answer of her question. he remained silent and just smiled softly then he took in a long breathe and replied,

"Because I know how it feels to lose someone close to you. I have experienced that pain so I don`t want anyone near me to go through the same pain. I am just trying so, that others don`t lose their loved ones." although he seemed calm but there was a slight sadness in his voice.

"hmmm... that`s so kind of you but in my case there is no who hold me dear to them so your efforts are just going to be in vain." she said so and laughed at her on words afterwards. but there was a deep pain in that laughter.

"Whether my efforts would go in vain , it will be proved by time, but if you don`t mind, can i ask you something? " he asked politely.

"Go ahead." she said sighing. 'Umm... as long as I can understand, you are quite disappointed about the world, the people around you and your life. why?" he asked hesitating.

"you know, that`s a very personal question and we are not close enough to discuss my private life with each other. but..... If it`s you then I think it would be fine as you have already witnessed much.... To tell you the truth, I myself don`t know why I am being like this. I don`t know why I can`t live like normal people. I ..I have almost everything which one can wish for but still it feels so empty and dull." she finally opened up to him.

" It would be awkward to listen but I guess I understand you. I mean as a doctor I can tell that you are not stable mentally.'

"I know that too. I know that I am not in my right mind."

"Why don`t you try consulting a psychiatrist? and have a medical check up properly?" he asked.

"Hah! I don`t need to. I already know that I am a crazy psychopath so I don`t think that anyone can help me anyway. but... don`t worry I won`t hurt anyone that I assure you." she said jokingly.

"But you are hurting yourself like this," he interrupted as he continued," you should not do this to yourself." "Okay, and what am I doing to myself?" she asked as if she did not knew.

"You are hurting yourself, off course. you are killing yourself deep inside....and I think and I think you should let everything out and be just what you really are." he said in a convincing manner.

"But I can`t do that." she said abruptly. "And why is that?" he asked a bit angrily.

"That`s because, ..... because, I am afraid of being left alone." she said while a thinking deeply.

"and how is that related to all this.?" he asked raising his eyebrow.

"Cause it has always been like this. whenever I open myself up to someone, they end up leaving me alone. and ... I do not have the courage to stay alone anymore. even the slightest thought of it makes my heart to stop.' she said in a very low voice and Noir could see that she was shaking as if she had encountered a nightmare. he than said politely.

"Why don`t you give it another try? maybe things would get changed this time.'

"And why should I do that for.

" For someone who holds you dear, try to live for that person."

"And I already told you that I do not have any"

"But who knows you will have in the future or maybe even now but you just don`t know.'

"Humph! what a joke." "just why don`t you try at least. and I promise that I will be by your side until then. what do you say?"

"Oh! that is very kind of you but why will you do that?" she asked joking.

"Because we are friends." he said abruptly and smiled brightly.

"And since when?" she smirked while raising her brow.

"Since today." he replied. " Ohhh!..." she said and then they both began to laugh at themselves.

Isn`t life too strange and unexpected. we never know what will happen in the next moment. it always turn out to something that we never imagine. that is why we call it life. who would have thought of this unexpected encounter. Me meeting with Noir like this and without knowing opening up to him. maybe I did so, cause I felt familiar with him. or he felt somehow warm. he was not like others, not someone who was double faced or mean. he was someone who would give you warmth and kindness without demanding anything and this part him was so charming that I might fell for him though I do not want this to ever happen because falling for someone is the most painful feeling one can ever experience.

Without knowing, both of them grew closer. even Ella started to open herself up to him because she felt somehow safe around him. she started to share things with him that she had never told anyone else before. she even stopped going to bars more often. she also gave away many of her bad habits which she had started lately. she herself did not even realized when she got this close and attached to him. she started to laugh and smile more often and more naturally. her cold lifeless eyes also started to have a glimmer of hope in them. and it was all off course because of Noir. because he contributed a lot in all this change. he always used to try to motivate her and encourage her to live tried to change her point of view of people and the world around her. to make her think a bit more positively. to make her live a bit more naturally and happily. and he was succeeding in his efforts . although a bit slowly but still improving bit by bit, day by day.

In all this they really forgot what they had been before, they started to grow closer like they had never to others around them and most of all Ella was the one who changed the most. even others around her could also notice it but somehow everything started to get better as Noir has told her. she just needed to put in some effort.....
