School life (3) - Introduction Ceremony

"Isn't that my sister? Wow, mom is not good with names.." Asune asks, getting closer to the stage, "For many years, this school has stood tall as the best school in the continent, not only for its amazing staff, because of the graduation rate, because of the quality of the work, but because this school has what no other school has: pride. Pride in our.."

"Oh me, this is the most boring speech I have ever heard.." "I wish she would get to the point." Asune thought.

Asane glares at Asune. "And now, without further ado, some words from your new-comer president: "Hm, I wonder who it is." Asune thought. The boy with long hair walks on stage and is pushed out. "Go. Go!" a voice whispered, shooing him onto the stage. The shaking boy thinks, "I only wanted the shiny star.. and the food; I don't know what to do.. The tree isn't responding.." The boy walks to the podium, shaking. He looks into the crowd, and people are whispering about him. "What's with his clothes?" "Why is his hair so long?" "What does his eyes look like?" The boy begins to hyperventilate and shake more. "He's scared. He's embarrassing himself; I have to do something." Asune begins to walk to the front to direct attention to him.

"Hello everyone! My name is Barrett; I am 14. Some of you may know me from the explosion at the gate." Barrett, the kid with red, spiky hair, said

The boy begins to shift off the stage, and while Barrett is talking, he looks to the side, where Asane is, and Asane realizes this and says, "That's enough, Barrett; thank you for your introduction!" Barrett climbs down from the stage, Asane clears her throat,

"Ahem, well, next we have some words of encouragement from the principal! ahaha..." She said, awkwardly shuffling off of the stage.

"Thank you, Asane. It seems we have a full house today. I'm more than grateful for each and every one of you." Grent said. "My grandfather built this school 120 years ago on the thought that many great scholars would be born here, and you know, he was right; we have given birth to so many great mages and heroes alike.."

"Oh great, another boring speech.." Asune begins walking out, and he gets to the main hall to see Fred standing there. "Fred?" Asune calls out. "Hm?" Fred looks up and says, "What're you doing?" Asune asks. "None of your business; why're you out here?" Fred asks. "I got bored of the ceremony." "Is that so?" "Yeah, they kept talking about history and heroes and whatnot." "Hm. Interesting, anyway, I'm going to go; it looks like the ceremony is over." Asune turns around.

"That quick-?"

"Huh? Nobodies coming out." Asune looks back at where Fred was, and he isn't there anymore. "Son of a B-" "Why is that lackey talking to me like he is on my level? He's weak; I barely sense any mana within him." Fred thinks, walking in a hall with windows and classrooms. "Anyway, let's get back to shopping; this disguise pin is going to run out." He said, looking at the cracked gold circular pin on his shirt.

"Shop."

Asune goes back into the ceremony. "And with that being said, everyone, enjoy your time here! Welcome, to the great school of Illinger." The principal, Grent, said. "It's over?" Asune thought. Barrett approaches Asune. "Yo." Barrett said to Asune "Hm?" Asune side eyes at Barrett: "Wanna be friends?" Barrett said. "Huh?" Asune said, bewildered. "Everyone keeps avoiding me, and you haven't run away yet, so wanna be friends?" Barrett said, "So blunt." Asune thought. "All jokes aside, this kid is super strong, his pressure is through the roof; no wonder kids don't want to be around him!" "Eh, sure." The names As-Azir, what about you?" Asune Said. "Barrett Ashton," Barrett said. "Ashton." Asune thought, "Do you have a sister here by any chance?" Asune asks, "Yeah, she's really weird, though; you DON'T want to be friends with her." Barrett said, "Anyway, where should we go now?" He asked, "Well, what did they say in the ceremony?" Asune questioned. "They told us to explore the school, I guess." He said. "But I don't really know where to g-" Suddenly, Asune dashes off. "See you later, friend!" Barrett said, waving. "What a nice guy," he thought.

"There she is." Asune thought, running towards Asane, who is now entering a door.

He grabs Asane before she can enter the door. "Oi," he said, breathing heavily, "you're asane, right?" He asked. "That would be me," she said, confused. "I'm Asune; you're brother." Asane now has a stern look on her face.

"Did mom send you?"

"No, I came here on my own." "Hm. Follow me." She said, taking him down a few halls, into a classroom, "Wow, this is a classroom; it's the size of our house." Asune said as they entered the classroom. "So, you're our sibling, huh?" Asane said. Quickly, she turns around and tries to strike Asune with the sword on her hip, Asune instantly takes his sword out of his inventory, forming it in his hand and parrying the strike. "Hmph, so you are my sibling." She said she was putting her sword back in her sheath. "Why would you do that? Are you insane?!" He shouted.

"It was just a little test; calm down; if it were our brother, he would have done something different."

Asune sighs, "Well, what now?" "Do you plan on going back home soon?" She asks, "Yes." He responds quickly. "You just can't get enough of mom, hm?" Asane said. "What's wrong with wanting to see my mother? More importantly, why don't you want to go see her?" Asune asked sternly. "It's not that I don't want to see her; I do; it's just that, man, I can't go back." "What did he do?" "It doesn't matter, anyway; I brought you here to confirm whether or not you are truly my sibling. Brother will be alerted of our newest sibling." She states. "What's that supposed to mean?" He asked, "Gotta go. Bye, little brother," she said before disappearing. "I'm beginning to notice a trend.."

"Everyone keeps leaving.." He said standing in the empty classroom, alone.
