Vanity Desire Admiration

Jack had no inkling of the blunder he had created by dismissing the young guard. He terminated the guard for failing to portray his enemy, Kiba, in a negative light. Instead, the guard unintentionally wounded Jack's pride by recounting Kiba's defeat in an unflattering manner.

How could Jack not be infuriated?

An employee might falter in their duties, yet still hold onto their position if they excel at flattering their superiors.

One of the most fundamental human desires is to receive compliments and admiration. This longing intensifies especially when one holds a high-ranking position. Although someone might claim to dislike compliments, deep down, they crave praise!

Otherwise, why would there be such fierce competition among women regarding beauty? Why would they splurge on new outfits for every occasion? It's all for the sake of flattery! They seek validation for their vanity!

Similarly, men also desire compliments. Why else would they boast about their romantic conquests or sexual prowess? Even if their claims are exaggerated, all they seek is admiration.

People squander money recklessly just to receive validation from others.

"Too many people spend money they haven't earned to buy things they don't need to impress people they don't like!"

Vanity is a powerful force in everyone, regardless of gender or race. And vanity craves admiration from others.

On the contrary, the young guard defied his boss's vanity-driven desires! Although Jack found the guard's behavior peculiar, he didn't dwell on it.

The world is replete with senseless individuals who are oblivious to what's in their best interest.

His desire for vengeance against Kiba burned within him, but after the humiliating slap, he knew he stood no chance.

Born into privilege with an unparalleled background, he now faced humiliation from a man without any notable lineage!

Not only had Kiba seduced his wife, but he had also embarrassed Jack in front of his sister and other high-ranking officers of the White Angel Corporation. If Jack were to let this slide, he wouldn't be true to himself!
