Sun Wukong

*In the battlefield at the corners of the Rim*

Darkness has covered everything.

The grotesque corpses of their comrades were no longer visible. The thick, metallic smell of blood that made them puke was no longer there, and their pitiful wails now simply faded into the darkness.

A soldier, lost without his scenes, was trying to find his way through the blackness, trying to escape it.

"My body feels heavy... I can't see, I can't hear, I can't smell. I can't even feel if my feet are touching the ground... ", he thought, as he stumbled around the battlefield.

While finding his way out of this hell, from inside the darkness, a coarse, vile voice echoed. One that made him shudder, made his legs tremble and forced him to kneel.

"SUN WUKONG!!".

The voice echoed throughout the surrounding space making it tremble and shake so hard, it almost cracked open.

He was surprised he heard a voice in this absolute darkness. He couldn't hear anything else, but he could hear this voice. It was as if the darkness itself was speaking to him.

He was forced onto his knees and vomited blood only from the presence of the voice.

His eyes became bloodshot, and he was barely able to keep his senses.

He was a distinguished soldier of the Heavenly Realm. He went into battle countless times and still hadn't outlived his potential. He was the cream of the crop, but he was still utterly powerless in front of this voice. It was like he was instinctively helpless in front of it. No matter the amount of training, battles, and heavenly treasures, none of it was enough to overcome this fundamental difference in disposition.

Suddenly, while he was on the brink of losing his senses, a brilliant light radiated through the darkness, it made the pressure vanish and even healed his injuries. The soldier was stupified and looked at his body in delight. He then turned his gaze towards the brilliant light only to see a golden staff hovering mid-air.

Behind the staff, was a figure of godly stature, looking in a certain direction of the darkness.

For the soldier who had no sense of sight till now, seeing that figure was more than a delightful surprise; he felt true bliss from seeing this godly, ape-looking figure.

The Great Sage

Heaven's Equal

Monkey King, Sun Wukong!

The thief of the peaches of immortality.

The man who singlehandedly destroyed the Jade Palace army.

A true God that achieved enlightenment after his historical adventure to the West.

As the soldier's eyes fell upon his grace, he noticed the Great Sage, staring into the darkness, as if his gaze was piercing through it.

"Tamas!", the Monkey King replied.

"Did you really think your puny skill would work? I broke it once and I will do it again!", he said playfully.

Sun Wukong grabbed the golden staff and spun it around while gathering strength in his arms. The world started trembling as space itself started to bend around the golden staff.

The desolate battlefield, where not even grass grew started cracking apart. The cracks on the infertile ground, due to the lack of hydration, cracked up to reveal red, combusting magma.

It seemed as if the end of the world was nigh, as the Great Sage was reading himself for an attack.

The soldiers run for their lives, some fell in the abyss only to be saved by a yellow cloud which had magically appeared below them. Nimbus saved every soldier on that battlefield.

Wukong stopped spinning his staff as the space around him formed cracks. Suddenly his biceps bulged and he, with great force and speed, swung his staff outwards.

*CRACK!*

The sound of glass shuttering reverberated, and the darkness surrounding everyone, as if though it was tangible, broke into millions of pieces.

Suddenly the darkness disappeared as if it was sucked somewhere, and the senses of the soldier returned. The world was once again bright. The stench of blood assaulted their sinuses and the sound of silence made them shiver once again.

When the darkness disappeared what appeared in the sky was a figure.

A man with skin so pale that nymphs would be jealous. Hair so dark, they devoured the light surrounding them, and a sinister smile that revealed a row of pitch-black fangs. His eyes were so black, that if you stared at them long enough, you would get lost in the darkness. His body was covered by a long black robe, that left his chest bare. He was rather skinny, as his ribcage was clearly visible under his thin skin.

He was staring at Wukong menacingly and smiling creepily.

"You can't break through my darkness so you used this little trick!? How far you've fallen, oh mighty Sun Wukong? Where is the rebellious little king I remember? The one who danced in Buddha's palm?", he said with a coarse, vile voice.

What actually happened just now, was that the darkness that had veiled the battlefield seeped through the cracks in space that Wukong created. Meaning he didn't "break" the darkness, but broke the space it existed in, and send it into the void.

Wukong's expression showed no change as he faced the black-robed individual.

"Mukikiki! I see your smelly attitude remains unchanged!", Wukong's monkey laugh made the earth tremble. His face showed a nostalgic expression as he closed his eyes and spoke.

"Tamas, stop with the useless chatter, that's history now. No point in dwelling on what was, let us deal with what is. Why did you leave the heavenly realm? I am pretty sure everyone was fair with you", the Great Sage replied.

Suddenly Tamas's expression changed. It became twisted and sad. But the prominent emotion showing on his face was anger. Deep anger. His vile and coarse voice resounded through the battlefield as he yelled out in frustration.

"SHUT UP, YOU DAMN APE! YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT ME! FAIR??FAIRRRRR?? How DARE you even say that word in front of me! YOU were there! ALL of you were there! When that BASTARD HUMILIATED ME! SPAT ON ME! And you have the NERVE to say I was treated FAIRLY!? HAH! An ape will ALWAYS be an ape."

Wukong's expression once more had no changes. As someone who achieved enlightenment, he had risen above insults.

"Tamas, I shall only ask you once. Return to the Heavenly realm. It's still not too late.", he replied.

"Wukong, I am Darkness itself. My pride won't allow me to return to that place. Accept the fact that from now on, me and you are enemies!", he said and dashed towards the Great Sage.

The sage heard his words, and after a long sigh, opened his eyes. The golden hue of his pupils glistened. A crazy, playful smile appeared on his face, and what burst forth was unbelievable.

Fighting spirit!

Bloodlust!

Spiritual Will!

The pressure was so big, Tamas stopped in his tracks. His eyes widened, staring at Sun Wukong as he stood there unmoving.

This was The Great Sage!

This was the Heavens' Equal!

The man who fought the whole army of the Jade Palace on his own, and won! His Fighting Spirit and Bloodlust were unparalleled. He slayed an impossible amount of demons on his journey to the West.

A god whose might was respected by even Heaven himself. Even he wouldn't dare mess with Sun Wukong!

He spun his Ruyi Jingu Bang* and put himself in a fighting position. His staff was like a dragon ready to attack at any given moment. His eyes glowed with a golden light as if they could see through anything in his universe.

Tamas greeted his teeth and started absorbing the light in his surroundings. He was turning everything around him into darkness. "After all, what's is darkness, if not the lack of light? , he thought after seeing Wukong's golden irises. Whispers could be heard from inside the darkness as his pressure started rising, almost rivalling Sun Wukong's. He gathered the darkness into his palm and formed a spear out of it. He rushed towards the Monkey King.

His coarse, vile voice resounded once again in the form of a battle cry, as he stabbed towards Wukong.

The Great Sage, parried the spear with his staff. The force of the parried spear carried on, moving through space and creating a hole in the ground so deep and wide, it looked like a gateway to hell. Wukong rotated his body, and in one fluid movement, brought his staff down on Tamas's head. The world suddenly changed colour as space bent to the staff's will and an enormous cluster of energy was concentrated on the tip. His movement was so fast and skilful, Tamas could only watch the Ruyi Jingu Bang* approaching his face.

His Fighting spirit and Bloodlust reached a peak as his staff clobbered The Dark. They were both enveloped in bright light when suddenly-

-------------------------------------------------------------

*Swoosh*

An invisible giant scythe, made out of energy, cut through the air, as well as through a couple of Green Wolves.

The giant scythe was bathed in blood after cutting the wolves in half. Suddenly it was replaced by the figure of a young man. His eyes were dark blue, and his skin had a tinge of green. His hair was long, reaching below his ears, and gathered in a bun, with only two strands graciously falling on his face. The boy seemed rather young, but the amount of blood he was covered in, made him look ferocious. What made him especially terrifying was the fangs protruding out of his mouth, his long, pointy ears and the unfathomable feeling one would get from looking into his eyes.

Tens of corpses littered the surroundings, awakened beasts were slaughtered in mass.

There was an incredible amount of killing intent in the cavern, and all of it came from the green young man. His lust for blood was so heavy the temperature of the room had fallen so low the blood started freezing.

There was blood in every corner of the room.

It gurgled and suddenly gathered right in front of the green young man in the form of a sphere. The young man plunged his hand into the sphere and hundreds of green strands started entering his body through his veins. His face displayed a refreshed feeling.

Suddenly a sweet voice resounded in his head.

*Ding*

" 'User' has slain 64 Green Wolves!

'User' has acquired 97 life force!"

*Ding*

"Congratulations!

'User' has acquired enough life force to level up!

Level 0-> Level 1 (50/50)

'User' has acquired new traits!"...
