Chapter 19: Who's the monster?!

Marcus found himself in a dark space where he could barely move.

"Where the hell am I?" Marcus asked.

"To think you are my master" a voice boomed in his ears.

"What the hell?" Marcus asked.

"You are so pathetic, to have trouble with such a lonely being, if I hadn't stepped in you and your friend would be dead" The voice boomed again.

Marcus covered his ears.

"Who are you?" he asked.

"You have no write to know my name, now hurry, wake up and kill that cowardly being" the voice said and Marcus opened his eyes in the dungeon.

He looked around and didn't find the goblin lord.

"Marcus, that damned monster is running for the exit, get it before it gets away!" Ben yelled.

"Ben!" Marcus yelled.

"Leave me, I drank a healing potion!" Ben yelled.

Marcus looked at the boss room entrance and saw it destroyed.

He ran in the direction where he heard heavy footsteps.

"Come here you bastard!" Marcus yelled.

"Leave me alone!" the goblin lord yelled.

Players and some locals were infront of the goblin dungeon.

"Are you saying these waves appeared from this dungeon?" a local asked a player with a smirk.

"Yes" the player answered.

The local scoffed and shook his head.

"You players don't know what your talking about, this is the goblin dungeon, goblins are about the easiest and Weakest monsters out there, even the boss monster is barely anything to worry about" he said before a door appeared.

"See, a player is getting out of the dungeon, we'll see his testimony" he said point at the dungeon exit.

They all turned to the door but all of them local and player alike all had cold sweat run down their backs.

The goblin lord was prying the doors open using pure strength even thought it was a magic based boss monster.

The he struggled to open the doors but he got them open after a few seconds and began to walk out.

Everyine there was frozen by the frightening presence of the boss monster.

The goblin lord was beginning to run but it's left calf was pierced by the [Masters first weapon] and he fell over yelling in pain.

"Damn it!" it yelled as it began to crawl away.

Everyone watching was susprised to see suck a terrifying boss crawl in fear, but their surprised turned to stone as they saw an insane looking man drenched in his and the goblin lords blood, the man looked exhausted to the point of passing out and looked like he sustained injuries that should have killed him but he stayed standing.

'Why did other goblins respawn at such an a time, all this goblin blood is making me sick' Marcus thought.

'How high is his HP?' people thought looking at the man.

"Man, your one shameless bastard" he said as he slowly walked forward.

The goblin lord ignored him and kept crawling, but came to an abrupt stop as he felt something grab his right leg.

He slowly looked down and saw two ruby red eyes stained in crimson starling daggers into him.

"Get over here" Marcus said before lifting him and throwing him into the ground landing the goblin lord in his back on his back.

'How strong is this guy?!' people thought but dared not to speak in fear attention might be brought in them.

"M...mercy, please, spare my life!" the goblin lord pleaded.

Everyone already in a state of shock couldn't hold back their looks of bewilderment.

No player had ever seen a monster speak no less beg for it's life and even the locals were in shock of this development, they already know there were monsters out there with high enough Intelligence to speak, but never have they heard of a monster beg for it's life before.

"Mercy?" Marcus asked. "Like the mercy you were gonna give me and my friend?" Marcus asked.

"I'm sorry, forgive me!" the goblin lord yelled.

Marcus raised [Dragon tooth] and he saw the goblin lord get pale as he looked at it.

Marcus smiled at this.

"What a pussy" Marcus said.

"A little more and I'd be level 10" Marcus said before falling down as the goblin lords body evaporated.

He took deep breaths as he was out of stamina.

'Fuck, how did I run out of stamina?' he asked himself.

"Excuse me" he heard a voice say.

He tilted his head up and saw a local looking at him.

"Don't worry, the monster is dead" he said.

Everyone looking at him all had the same thought 'Who's the monster?!' but again decided to keep the thought to themselves.

"Are you alright?" the local asked.

"Yeah, just out of stamina, you got any bread or something, I would get mine but I don't have the energy to lift a finger, I'll pay you for it" he asked.

The local took out a Grey colored potion and fed it to Marcus. After a few moments Marcus could feel his strength returning to him and sat up.

"Thanks, how much, I remember a Stamina potion goes for three silver at least" Marcus said.

"No, you killed that thing, one Stamina potion was a small thanks from me" the local said.

"Oh, then we're good" Marcus stood up and collected the dropped loot from the goblin loot and ran back into the dungeon.

"What an amazing player" the local said.

Another local stood next to him.

"Didn't you starve yourself for a month to get the money for that potion?" he asked

The man punched the ground and almost shed a tear. "Don't remind me" he said.

Marcus ran back to the boss room and found Ben collecting the loot from the hobgoblin guards.

"Your okay" Marcus said drinking his own health potion.

"Yeah, how did it go out there?" he asked.

"It's dealt with" Marcus replied.

"Good" Ben said. "Oh yeah, I found a kid in here" Ben said pointing at a young boy sitting nearby.

"That's mine" Marcus said.

He walked up to the boy.

"Hey kid, a friend of yours is worried about you, you should go and see her" Marcus said.

"R-really?!" he asked.

"Yep, go on ahead" Marcus said.

The boy ran with tears falling from his eyes.

"Our job is done" Ben said sitting down.

"Yeah" Marcus said sitting next to him.

"You think they'll ask us questions outside?" Ben asked.

"Yeah, the adventurers guild will want to know what happened" Marcus replied.

"What do we tell them?" Ben asked again.

"The truth, they have lie detecting items, so lying will only make them mistrust you and make it difficult in the future" Marcus said.

"Okay" Ben replied, Marcus looked at him closely and saw his trembling hands.

'His first near death experience, he must be holding back the urge to break down in tears' Marcus thought.

To be continued...
