The incidence of Mira

It was morning already, I checked my phone and I received a missed call from Mira. I'm wondering why is she calling me after I left her in the library. I'll just ask her at the school, I wonder if she did not understand our lecture yesterday. I decided to get up on my bed to wash my face and brush my teeth to go to the supermarket to buy groceries. While I am walking I notice there's a lot of people in the park and I think there is something strange happening. I was nearly at the park but suddenly somebody tap my shoulder; it was Akuma. She was smiling at me and ask me where am I going when I mentioned the supermarket she join me and she offered that she'll help to take the groceries.

"Why are you the one who were buying groceries in the supermarket?"

"Uh--- I was in charge of buying groceries and my little sister is in charge of the house chores"

"Oh! Do you have a little sister? I did not know that"

"Yup. She is the only family that I have."

"How old she is?"

"I'm one year older than her"

"You seem too close, are you?"

"You are right. We're too close because we only have each other."

"Where are your parents?"

"My mother died after Yuri was born and my father died because of the severe illness"

"Oh! I'm so sorry!"

"No, it's okay."

After talking with Akuma and buying groceries, she went home because she does not want to be late again for school. I need to hurry too because I don't want to be late again!"

"Yuri, I'm home"

"Welcome home, brother. Take the bath already, you will be late again."

"Thank you, Yuri. The groceries are on the table. I'll place it later after class."

"Don't worry, I'll take care of it. I already prepared your lunch box."

"Thank you! You should take care of yourself too, you have a class, right?"

"Yes, we do have but we don't have our first period?"

"Is that so? Prepared your lunchbox too and you must attend your class early."

"I know brother. Just hurry up! Idiot."

I enter our bathroom and face on our mirror; the marks are still here. I was taking the shower then I feel someone is outside in this room, those eyes are glaring at this door. I open the door quickly but no one is here other than myself. I think I am overthinking again, my days become strange and I feel uncomfortable. I wear my uniform and ride on my bicycle, I need to use my bicycle because I feel I can't make it if I decided to walk to go to our campus. When I arrived on our campus, I parked my bicycle and walk into the hallway. While I am walking to our room I heard there is a student here on our campus who died because of the robbery. I open the door of our room and I saw that everyone is staring at me, it feels strange. Something is happening without me, one of my friends approach me; it was Akuma.

"What's happening here? Why everybody is staring at me?"

"Do you heard the news already?"

"What news? "

"About the student studying here at our campus died last night at the park"

I was shocked when Akuma mentioned it, the news is true not just a rumor. I was talking to Akuma suddenly my two classmates are looking at me; it was Akko and Miko.

"Why are you both looking at me? Do you need something?"

"Why are you so calm even you know she died!"

"What are you talking about? I am really confused! what's going on here?"

"You don't know what's happening, don't you?"

"What are you talking about?"

"Is it true that you are the one who is with Mira last night?"

"Yeah, that's true. She asked me to teach her an English subject. We are in the library yesterday. Why do you ask Akko?"

"Do you went home together?"

"No. She told me she's going to drop by the bakery. Why are you asking too, Miko?"

"When do you last time saw Mira?"

"Last night. Why are you asking too, Akuma? Why is everybody asking me about Mira? I am really confused. What's happening"

Everybody was strange and they are keep asking about Mira and since we are talking about Mira I did not see her around in this room.

"By the way, where's Mira? I don't see her around here in our room. She's not the type of the person who's late in the first period"

"She's dead."

"Huh?"

My world suddenly stopped for a moment because of what Akuma tells. I was confused about what's happening and I don't know what word will I say to them. I'm with Mira last night but today she's dead already.

"What do you mean? I'm with Mira last night. We're studying at the library last night. What do you mean she's dead?"

"Mira is dead, that's all!" –Akuma

"The dead body of Mira was found at the park in the morning"-Akko

So that is the reason why many people are in the park that time when I went to the supermarket.

"She was a stab at her heart, stomach and also her right hand was stab too."- Miko

I don't know how would I react when I heard all of these and the fact that Mira is already dead. A moment of silence of us suddenly our teacher appeared in our class. We sit down on our chairs and our teacher is at the front of the class with a sad expression. It is natural for a teacher to be like that because every one of his students is like his children.

"Everyone, I would like to announce to you that your classmate, Mira is already dead. Based on the investigation, Mira was died because of the robbery. Some of her stuff is gone like her wallet. Let's pray for her soul to be in silence. Yuu, you'll be left here in the room after class"

"Why?"

"The police officers need to ask some questions with you since you are the last person who was with Mira"

"Yes. I understand, sir."

It is right that I am the last person who saw by everyone with Mira and I also remember she called me that night. If I only answered her call, I'll save her to that case. It's my fault because I did not send her to her home and did not secure her safety. If I only accompany her to the bakery, she's still alive right now. It's all my fault why Mira died. I'm blaming myself the whole day and can't stop thinking that Mira is dead. I did not pay attention to class discussion all that I did is blaming myself and overthinking during the class. I'm just starring at our teacher but it does not mean that I'm paying attention. I did not also eat the food that my little sister prepared for me and I'm just looking at the sky on our lunch break. I was grief by Mira's death, I just lay on my table and someone taps my shoulder; it was Akko.

"Are you alright, Yuu?"

"Not really, I still can't believe that Mira is dead"

"Don't blame yourself because of what happened to Mira. It's not your fault"

"No! It's my fault. If I only accompany her to the bakery, she's still alive right now."

I shouted Akko, I did not mean to I'm just too emotional, suddenly she slapped me and hug me quickly. She hugged me and pat my head to calm. When I am a little bit calm someone appeared in front of me, it was Akuma. She is just starring at us like we are doing something bad, I am startled and I quickly push Akko.

"Why did you push me, Yuu?"

"I'm so sorry, Akko. I was startled by Akuma."

"Akuma? She's not here."

"She was on your back earlier"

Akko turns around to take a look at her back but she sees nothing.

"Yuu, I think you're tired because of all of what happened. You should go home and take a rest"

"Thank you, Akko. I should go now. the police officers are waiting for me."

"Sure. Take care and see you tomorrow."

I sincerely smiled at her because of what she did to make me calm. Akko is nice to everyone and I would not doubt why she's popular with everyone especially with boys. It was really weird when I saw Akuma was staring at me but she's not there, am I hallucinating again? I was walking towards the police station then someone calls my name; it's Akuma.

"Hello, Yuu. Where are you going?"

"I'm going to the police station. Police officers are waiting for me."

"Why do you need to go there?"

"They will ask me some questions about Mira."

"Why do you need to go there?"

"Like what I said a while ago, I need to answer the questions of the policers officers to trace the person who killed Mira."

"May I join you to go?"

"Why are you joining to go to the police station?"

"I just wanted to hear your statement."

"It's fine with me. Let's hurry up they are waiting for too long."

When we arrived at the police station I saw Akuma was listening to us. She seems interested in this case, I think she does want to be police someday. I answered all of the questions as soon as I can but this last question makes me wonder.

"Why did Ms. Mira called you that night?"

"To be honest, I don't know why she's calling me. I was busy that time when she called me."

"Do you think she knows who's the one who killed her?"

"I don't know."

"Is there any person who has a motive to killed Mira?"

"I think none because Mira is nice to everyone. No one hates her."

"Thank you for your cooperation."

"Wait a minute. Why are you asking this all of the sudden? You already declared that she died because of the robbery, right?"

"Yes, it may look like a robbery but her cellphone and her necklace did not take away by the thief."

I was shocked by the revelation of the police officer that the cause of death of Mira was not because of the robbery but because of the murder. They still have no clue who is the killer because the killer did not leave any clues. We can't help at all because we're not professional, the thing that we can do is to wait for the result. I am now heading home with Akuma and to be safe I send her home because I don't want her to die just like Mira.

"Thank you for sending me home safely, Yuu."

"Your welcome, Akuma. See you tomorrow."

"Yes. Take care and can't wait to see you too, tomorrow!"

She smiles at me brightly like an angel before I left for her house. The looks of her house are just a normal house. When I arrived at our house I saw the television was turned on. It looks like Yuri was watching a horror movie, I went to the kitchen, and I saw Yuri handling a knife.
