The Providence of Solomon: I Become The Lord of 72 Demons

"Contract with the Devil"—how many times have you heard these words? If you could sell your soul to have any wish fulfilled, would you do it? Many people ponder this question. Some would hesitate or refuse, but a small group would accept without a second thought. You might think people like this are selfish, but in truth, they are driven by something or someone more valuable than life itself—and Rafael is one of these people. Rafael is a final-year student at Royal Valtara Academy. For him, nothing is more important than his sister's happiness. By a twist of luck, he discovers that he is one of Solomon's possible heirs, the lord of Purgatory. Join him on his journey as he uncovers the dark side within the academy and carves his own path through hell.

Penalty

Rafael nodded. He had read about it. If he did anything that breached the contract, he would need to pay a huge penalty.

If he failed to pay this for a year, the school would then take legal action.

But this was not what scared him the most. Royal Valtara Academy is linked with the government. Getting blacklisted by them is equal to having no future in the country.

Rafael would need to completely change his identity and move elsewhere to start a normal life if he really incurred their wrath.

"Thank you, Mrs. Vivian." Rafael took the two briefcases. They were quite large and heavy, but he had no problem carrying both of them.

Looking at the briefcases, Rafael felt it was not good to bring them to the class. It would surely make the other students gaze and feel envious.

He had no problem becoming the center of attention, but SuiYin was a different case. Rafael decided to change direction toward the library.

This time, the librarian was not asleep. She was busy playing with a portable game device. Her golden hair cascaded down like a waterfall, reaching her back.

Her blue eyes were as clear as the ocean. She was beautiful, but not enough to mesmerize Rafael.

As his own sister Reina was also a beauty, Rafael had grown his immunity toward this since childhood.

Rather than her beautiful appearance, what struck Rafael was that she seemed to be the same age as him.

"Hello, so you wake up now," Rafael said while knocking on the surface to gain her attention.

The woman raised her head, her eyes observing Rafael for a moment, "A new student? Well, if you want to read, just go ahead. No need to disturb me."

Her reply was cold, not matching her appearance, making Rafael's lips twitch.

"You know, for someone who locked me inside this library yesterday, you are really rude."

"Locked you inside?" The woman put on a thoughtful look for a moment, then added, "I see, so you are the one that made me get berated by Mr. Draven this morning.

You also left the window open, making me need to clean up the library thoroughly."

'The hell with this woman,' Rafael cursed in his mind.

"That is your fault, not mine. Who asked you to just lock the door without checking who was inside?"

"I called out once, telling everyone I would lock the door. It's your fault if you didn't hear it. Anyway, I got you locked in, and you made a mess for me. So let's just forget about this and move on."

The woman then looked at the clock on the wall. "It's still class time. What are you doing here? Want me to report you?"

Rafael started getting annoyed by the woman. No matter how beautiful someone was, it didn't give them a free pass to treat him like this.

"Look, I don't know what kind of life you have, but I am not here to make trouble. I just want to put these two briefcases in the library."

The woman turned her gaze toward the objects in Rafael's hands. Her lips turned into a frown as her mood plummeted further.

"Just put them on the side then. Just remember, it's your own choice to put the items here. I am not to be held responsible if something happens to them."

"You…." Rafael's voice raised as he started getting angry, but he took a deep breath. If this turned into a long debate, it would be detrimental to him.

"Fine. I still don't get it. You can already watch the library. What is wrong with just seeing two more suitcases?"

But the woman didn't reply and just glared at Rafael, then at the briefcases. Her gaze lingered for a while before she turned back to her portable game device.

Seeing her not responding, Rafael just looked for a hidden place. He picked a table in the corner, then put the two briefcases under the desk. He glared at the woman one more time, then left the library.

Seeing Rafael leave, the woman turned her gaze toward the briefcases. "If only I could get a full scholarship too…" She mumbled in a low voice, then let out a sigh.

'Stop it, Airine. Let's focus on the task. Mr. Draven already promised me he would give me full sponsorship and directly enter the second year.' She thought, then returned to her game.

For the next few hours, the class ran smoothly without any problems. As the bell rang, marking the end of today's school, the students quickly dispersed.

"See you tomorrow, Rafael," SuiYin said while leaving the class.

"Wait, SuiYin, Mrs. Vivian has something for you. She gave it to me before, but I kept it in the library."

"Library? The one we met at yesterday?"

"Yes."

"What item? I don't get why you didn't just bring it with you."

Rafael's lips curled into a smile, "You will understand why if you see it. By the way, have you met with the librarian?"

"Airine? Yes, she is a nice woman."

"Nice? You call her nice? Come on, she is even ruder than Jeff."

SuiYin's eyes widened, and her mouth gasped as she put her palm over it in a dramatic manner. "Rafael, so you really are a bully. She is a nice, kind girl. If she's being rude to you, that only means…"

Rafael's lips twitched, "Firstly, I didn't make any inappropriate comment. Second, she is the one who started. Do you know she locked me inside the library yesterday?"

"For real?" SuiYin asked as she let out a chuckle.

"Yes, why do you think I got involved in the bus incident? It's all because of her. And she still has the audacity to blame me for the mess."

"Tell me first, then I could give my opinion."

Rafael then started narrating the story as both of them walked to the library. Aiyden didn't join them; he had already said his goodbyes to them through their chat group.
