Nightmare Valley: Pit of Despair (part 1)

It was at this point the CIpher wished he had been more careful because not more than 4 inches from his face was the face of a large Nightmare Beast at eye level with Cipher. The beast had bright yellow eyes that glowed as if a fire was burning within them, large horns on its head that curled like a ram. The smell of the Nightmare gave was repugnant, and it seemed to have some sort of mold-like substance covering its head. Cipher for the first time instinctually used his Appraiser Skill, which he would have been happy about if he hadn't seen the name of the Nightmare in front of him, (C-Class lesser Mold fiend).

Cipher immediately jumped back pulling out his twin star blades. While he was able to unsheath his blades, he wasn't able to travel more than three feet before his back hit something hard yet squishy. Slowly craning his head back, Cipher couldn't but sigh when he got the back view of yet another Lesser Mold Fiend. This was the first time Cipher was in a situation where he was outnumbered by Nightmares, while he had trained with Axela and Yuri for this possibility putting practice into actual combat was always difficult.

Cipher took a deep breath and relaxed his body, the Nightmares were sure to attack, so calming himself was the best method to making sure he wasn't caught off guard. That only lasted a moment as the second that Cipher had inhaled he was hit in the back, by what he only guess was the claw of a third Lesser Mold Fiend. Having the wind knocked out of him, Cipher ended up rolling and skidding ground the round. Cipher attempted to jump up only to be hit by another claw slamming him into the side of a Lesser Mold Fiend. Unless Cipher wanted to be used as a human pinball he had to think of a way to get ahold of the situation and kill one of the smelly bastards. CIpher thought of an idea if he could overload the flashlight he could make a makeshift flash grenade blinding the Nightmares giving him a moment to kill one and get the better of the other two. After backing off the Nightmare, which he had used as a cushion to the flashlight put as much magic as he could into it and threw it in the air, before it exploded he made sure he had his blade prepared to slash through the Nightmares.

Cipher watched as the Lessor Mold Fiends followed the flashlight with there eye, Cipher turned away the flashlight exploded. What he saw when it exploded made Ciphers heart drop. There wasn't only two or three, from what Cipher could tell there were at least twenty of the disgusting Nightmares. CIpher had landed into a Nightmare Lair and the only clear route through required him to go through at least fifteen of the Lessor Mold Fiends.

Cipher's facial expression turned resolute, he knew what he needed to do, using his right foot he pushed off the ground attempting to run through as many as possible. Cipher couldn't see a way to cut them all down and extradict them in the process. With it being as dark as it was extremely hard for Cipher to see, he had to rely solely on his sixth sense. While running Cipher gave a silent thank you to Yuri, if not for here training with the blindfold Cipher knew he wouldn't have made it as far as he had or even have the possibility of surviving this situation.

Cipher used his acrobatic skills to jump and dodge the incoming attacks from the Nightmares, each attack would just barely miss, but barley was enough for Cipher to survive. He knew he wasn't free and clear, but he was getting excited, [I am almost there, I can make] Cipher thought to himself. It was at this point that something slammed down in front of Cipher, blocking his path. As mud and grime splattered all over Cipher a demonic laughing sound could be heard, a deep gurgling laugh that turned into an animalistic scream.

Due to his Appasial Skill Cipher was able to tell that the Nightmare in front of him was a (B-Class Earth Gargoyle). Cipher knew he could fight all the Nightmares but with the Gargoyle showing up he had no choice, the worse part was he could barely see the dam thing. He knew it was at four times his height as that was what he had read prior, but he would tell if it was a variant with wings for not which put him in an extremely dangerous situation. He was going to have to fight this Gargoyle and defend himself against a hoard of C-Class Nightmare. Cipher couldn't help but think [Fuck this] before resolving to attack the Nightmares.

Having the Twin Star Blades in had Cipher ran toward the Gargoyle, as he got close Cipher could hear the gurgling laugh again. Cipher didn't know if the Gargoyle was laughing at Cipher, but no matter what it was laughing at he would make it regret having stepped in front of him. Sensing the Gargoyle's clas coming toward him, Cipher took the Twin Stars and brought them up slicing the Gargoyle's hands as it attempted to grab Cipher.

Before Cipher could do anything else though he was hit in the side, the Gargoyle had used its tail to hit Cipher the moment he hand lifted his arms to attack its hands. Its attack cause Cipher to shoot off like a rocket slamming into a nearby wall of the pit. Having been indented into the wall of the pit, Cipher found it difficult to keep conscious. Cipher had felt upset in his previous life, but this was the first time he felt true anger and hatred towards something. He wanted nothing more than to slice the Gargoyle to pieces, he wanted to watch it suffer and feel pain.

I plan to release at least one more chapter today, if I can get two done then I will release the second as well. Here's to hoping :]
