Kyuriko Art

I opened the book and flipped through the book expecting to see a bunch of cool moves.

The instant the messages were issued the book in my hands went up in flames. I felt some new fighting styles appear in my head. Something in my body urged me to practice it immediately, so I stood up, got my sword, and followed the images that had been placed in my head. They mainly focused on quick strikes with a peculiar style holding it together. I spent my remaining time in the forest just repeating these movements until they became something equivalent to second nature. I also decided to stay in the forest to improve my senses, I didn't notice the rabbit until it was a few meters away from me. This was dangerous what if I came across an enemy that attacked from afar? Luckily including the fighting style I had learnt from the Kyuriko art, there was also a type of meditation. It improved the user's perception and mana. I went into a lotus position and concentrated. Opposing its goal, the first step required me to let go of my surroundings. To not focus on anything and to just relax. This was hard for me who was usually always on alert due to my father's career. I decided to think of something that made me calm; my mind instantly went to when I used to relax in my room listening to music and occasionally reading a book. My mind was at rest to the point I almost forgot my original goal. I quickly followed the next step and started taking notice of the tiny things around me. How the wind picked up speed, the soft chittering of insects, how ants moved on the earth lugging their food around, the chirps of birds in trees and overhead, and the sounds of monsters and animals alike hunting their prey or running from their predator. The third and final step was both tricky and easy; I was required to come out of the relaxed state while still maintaining the level of concentration I currently had. I opened my eyes and stood up from my stationary position. It took everything out of me to keep up my concentration, I tried walking towards but my concentration broke.

I went back to a lotus position and worked up my concentration. I stood up and stayed there becoming comfortable with the position. I took a step forward but my concentration broke once again. Once again, I went back to a lotus position and established my concentration, standing up and moving forward. Luckily, it didn't break again and I continued moving forward. I walked in circles before breaking off into a jog and then a full-on run.

I jumped up in excitement. The next thing to do was learn how to maintain it even while I wasn't fighting monsters. 'Am I forgetting something? Ah! I'm supposed to meet up with Yuka she said she will meet up with me in my starter village.' I started running to the village In hopes that she had yet to arrive or I would earn the scolding of a lifetime. I headed To the center of the village and looked around for her. She said her character was an elf with pink hair and blue eyes. It was hard to miss as I noticed her by the weapon store. I went towards her and quietly asked, "Yuka right?". She turned towards me in surprise. "Yes, what may I do for you" She scrutinized me. "It's me Hyuno," I told her. "Eh…EEEHHH!!! Hyuno-chan is that really you?" She cried out. "Yes, why do I look weird?" I looked down concerned. "No, no, no. It's just you look different from how you usually do" She reassured. "I wanted to try a new look for this game" I clarified. "It looks good, anyways let's get to the reason why we're meeting. I can not allow my friend to be weak so I'll carry you for a while. I'm level 22, what about you?" She inquired. "Ah, I'm level 10 currently," I replied. "Well, I guess you level up fast. Let's head to the dungeon." She instructed. "Dungeon? What's that" I wondered. "Y-you don't know what a dungeon is? Then how did you level up." She asked quizzically. "I went to the forest to hunt some jumping rabbits," I answered. "No wonder you're only level 10. Dungeons are the places where players go to level up. They go in through a portal and are transported To an area depending on the type of dungeon. We gain rewards for every monster we kill and for the dungeons we conquer. We're lucky that demon is an unpopular race so the demonic starter dungeon shouldn't be crowded. Let's go already" Yuka informed me before heading towards the dungeon. I ran to catch up with her and walked beside her. We arrived at a type of deserted place with only a purplish portal in the center. "That is the dungeon entrance" Yuka pointed out. "Do you know where it will take us?" I questioned. "Nope! We will have to find out." She took My arm and dragged me to the entrance. "W-wait don't we need a plan" I panicked. She threw me inside before jumping in after me.
