"Have fun watching me, Qian Hua," I said, before standing up and preparing to leave, but her next words stopped me in my tracks.
"I will, Xuan Kai. But… 4th is not a good place to start. When I was in your year, I placed first in this exam."
"Commendable. Unfortunately, you had a functioning class. I don't."
"You're afraid of being targeted by the other classes, yes?" Qian Hua laughed. "I suppose that is logical. If it were an individual competition, you could probably beat any other student in the 1st year, but as a member of the student council, teamwork and leadership skills are vital. Best of luck, Xuan Kai… and let me know if you need any advice."
"It's not like you'll tell me even if I did ask," I snorted.
"Hm… but how do you know that?" She said with a wry smile.
