Chapter 5

The next day, Jucin hurriedly took her bath and dressed up without the help of her hand maidens. She had her breakfast alone at the dinning as she had woken up late and they had had their breakfast.

She was in haste because she was really excited to meet her friends. She finished her food and hurried outside when she bumped into someone and her head crashed into his chest

" Going somewhere"? he asked

" Uh..um brother Jeremy I just wanted to take a stroll through the gardens" she lied

" Must be some fascinating trees and birds" he said sarcastically which she picked immediately, it made her wonder if he was aware about her whereabouts the other day

"Fascinating" she faked a smile

"Your teachers would be here in 30 minutes so behave and don't do anything stupid"Jeremy said and she nodded slowly while pursing her lips.

She saw the guards behind Jeremy give a deep bow followed suite by Jeremy, she turned and saw the king, her father and she bowed in greeting

"Greetings father" they both said simultaneously and he nodded

"How was your night"? he asked Jucin

"it was good" came her reply

" Very well"the king turned his attention to Jeremy "How's the deed of the land going"? he asked

" Great my king, Just 2 more kingdoms and we're good to go" he replied

They Continued their discussion while leaving Jucin alone in the lonely corridor. She went back to her room feeling disappointed about the change of plans as her teacher was coming and she wouldn't be able to leave the castle.

The lady who was supposed to teach her and Julia finally arrived and they started the lesson immediately.

It was still midday when the lesson ended and Jucin left the Castle. She went to the coffee shop but she didn't find either Mai or Shabeth. She asked another lady who worked in the shop and asked for their whereabout, she was told it was their day off and was giving direction to their house.

She arrived at the house which looked decent enough, she rapped on the door and in no time the door was opened half way revealing Mai's head which popped out from the side

"Princess"! she exclaimed as she came out fully

"Mai"! Jucin gave her a hug

"Please come in" Mai offered and she stepped into the humble looking home.

After offering her a glass of water the 2 girls sat at the sofa to chitchat for a while

"Where's Shabeth?" Jucin inquired

"She went with my parents to the neighbouring town to see a close relative of ours" she explained and Jucin nodded.

This duo left the house and Mai took her to a lake. It was heart shaped and the water sparkled with ducks swimming on top of it

" It's beautiful!" Jucin exclaimed

"I know, it's a place I come to when I feel like relaxing and forgetting about the troubles of this world" Mai gave a faint smile

They sat on the grass surrounding the lakeside and they laughed and talked about all sorts of things till the cloud slowly started to cover the sun

leaving orange shades in the sky.

"Time for you to return to the Castle" Mai said

" I don't want to" she groaned

" Don't worry we'll see each other tomorrow" Mai cheered her up

"Okay" Jucin gave her a hug and was about to leave when Mai called her

"Yes"Jucin turned to have Mai cover the space between them

"Can you come with me to a party"? she asked

"What kind of party?" Jucin asked

"A party for demons and witches, accompany me and Shabeth"

"Okay" She nodded

"Great, I'll come pick you tomorrow by 10 in the night" Mai smiled

"10 in the night when my family is fast asleep sounds wonderful"

She waved Mai goodbye one last time before heading to the Castle.
