Chapter 5

Sirius Black was trying to comfort his wife as she sobbed into his shoulder from hearing the news the healers had given them. Amelia had been rendered sterile from a spell she had been hit by during a raid in Knockturn Alley that she was leading. Amelia was afraid that Sirius would marry someone else again as she could no longer give him a male child to carry on the Black lineage as females could not become the head of house of House Black so their daughters could not inherit it and now she had been rendered sterile.

Sirius just looked at her like she was crazy and said, " sweetheart I wouldn't leave you even if you could not give me any children, you have already given me two angels for daughters and as for the matter of the Black heir I am thinking of naming Harry as my heir to House Black. I think even grandfather Arcturus would be happy with that as he adores Harry. I mean Harry is basically a son to both of us in all but blood, so if you are okay with it I would officially adopt Harry as our son meaning that he would legally be son to both Lily and James as well as both of us and would be known as Harry Potter Black".Amelia had no hesitation as she considered Harry as her son and readily agreed.

The next morning Sirius and Amelia visited Black manor to speak to Arcturus about making Harry as Sirius's heir to the house of Black and Sirius informed Arcturus in secret without Amelia overhearing them about his suspicion about the involvement of Lucius Malfoy in the attack on Amelia in order for his son to become the Lord Black after Sirius if he didn't have any male children. Arcturus had no problem with it and readily agreed.

Arcturus also said , " I will look into the attack on Amelia and see if Lucius was involved and if he was then then the smug piece of shit will get what he has coming for him , you don't worry Sirius and take care of Amelia. Also we will keep the issue of making Harry the Black heir a secret as we don't want Lucius to get any ideas about attacking him, and I will have Dorea to start teaching him Occlumency to protect his mind. "

James was surprised to see Amelia and Sirius entering their home in the afternoon. When they joined them for lunch James was surprised by their request to adopt Harry officially as their so making him Harry Potter Black and the Heir Black. Lily was greatly saddened by Amelia's plight and knew that Harry would be able to cheer her up so she excused herself for a few minutes and apparated near Harry's school and had him excused from the remaining classes for that day and took him home after telling him about what happened to Amelia and to try and cheer her. Harry immediately agreed as he loved Amelia like his own mother. Amelia was surprised when she suddenly found herself being hugged to death by her godson saying "love you Aunt Amy, " and then Harry distracted her from her sadness by chatting with her non stop about how he had started brewing simple potions under his mother's supervision and and had joined his school's football team . By the end of the day she was feeling slightly better thanks to Harry. James and Lily also agreed to their proposal and Dorea who arrived sometime in the evening agreed to teach Harry Occlumency even though it was difficult for children to sit still for long period of time patiently which is required for Occlumency but Harry had no such problem as he was used to it due to his potions practice with his mother.

In the year since his seventh birthday Harry had finally managed to master using the Lumos charm wandlessly and nonverbally with only a thought and also increasing and decreasing its brightness and even managed to modify it to become a ball of light or multiple balls of light hovering around you providing more light than the small light of the standard Lumos charm. He practiced the charm nonverbally from the starting as he didn't want to rely on shouting incantations and start using magic nonverbally from the starting itself and practising this way helped in training his intent used for performing magic as bon verbal magic was all about intent.
