By the time the sun went down, my friends and I were out of our Hero costumes and tired from all the jobs we did.
"I'm exhausted." Sato groaned.
"We've gone Plus Ultra beyond what's allowed by the Labor Standards Act." Kaminari said.
"Hey, uh." Sero raised his hand slightly and called out to our class representative and Class deputy. "How 'bout fewer small jobs?"
"No can do!" Iida answered. He looks up from his paperwork. "All jobs are equally vital."
Yaomomo stands up from her seat and turns to everyone.
"It may be true that we came here as heroes, but remember, we're still just students." Yaomomo states. "We have to work hard and prove ourselves to earn the islanders' trust."
"I'm still surprised that Bakugou did some jobs that didn't involve fighting." Mineta commented.
Katsuki clicked his tongue.
"Tch. That's because Hikari dragged me along and made me do those jobs with her." Katsuki glanced at me while I sat down next to him with my fruit-infused water. I smiled and winked at him.
"That makes sense!" Kaminari remarks with a grin. "I can't think of any other person that'll get Bakugou to do these jobs."
"I was only making him help me with those jobs because he hasn't done anything since we got here." I mentioned, resting my head on my are while smiling at Katsuki.
"Well, somebody's gotta stay behind and watch the office." My boyfriend said. "What're you gonna do if a villian shows up while the rest of you are out doing stupid crap, huh?"
"Oh, come on. Eijiro spoke. He's lying his head on the table across from Katsuki. "There aren't any villians on this island."
"Eijiro is right, Blasty." I took a sip of my water. "There are no villians, but there are people that need us. Being a hero isn't just about fighting bad guys. Remember that."
Suddenly, the front doors of the Hero Agency opens. The Mayor and the other inhabitants of the island entered the Agency with food.
"Sorry for barging in." The Mayor said.
"Mr. Mayor!" Iida walks up to the islanders.
"It was so sweet of you to carry Granny to the hospital earlier." A lady gives Iida a container with a seafood dish.
"Thank you." An old lady said to Yaomomo. "And thanks for fixing that old bike of mine."
One after the other, each of the islanders thanked us and brought in food and drinks.
"Whoa!" I gasped at the lay out of food on the two tables. "You didn't have to do all this...!"
"Nonsense." Mrs. Suzumura said. "This is just a little something to show you how grateful we are that you're helping us. Please, enjoy!"
My classmates and I rejoiced over the gift the islanders gave us. Iida reprimanded us for not showing some restraint, but we didn't care. We thanked the citizens and chowed down on the homemade food. The food was so delicious and filling; you could really feel the love they put into their cooking. I volunteered to do night watch and Katsuki joined me. After putting on our Hero costumes, we did the night watch together. There was no signs of villians, crooks, Nomus, citizens in danger, or anything remotely suspicious. Still, Katsuki and I did keep an eye out. When we got close to the UA Hero Agency, the first thing we see is Izuku outside. It looks like he's doing some training.
"Hey, Izuku." I greeted my childhood friend. He halts his training and shifted his attention to me and Katsuki.
"Himawari! Kacchan!" Izuku said. "Hey, uh... How's the patrol going?"
"Good. Nothing to report about. Also, it looks like you're getting a little better with One--" I stopped myself from saying the name of his given Quirk. One of our friends or the civilians might hear. "I mean, that Quirk."
"I still have a lot of work ahead of me, though." Izuku rubs the back of his neck.
"I'm not a big fan of waiting, ya know." Blasty walks past Izuku as he says that.
"Of course, Blasty." I sighed out, standing next to Izuku. "Izuku and I know that better than anybody."
"He hasn't changed much since we were kids." Izuku said and I agree with him.
My boyfriend stops in his tracks.
"So hurry and make that Quirk your own instead of his, Deku." Katsuki turns his body to face Izuku. "Then we can finally have a real fight." Izuku and I gazed at Katsuki as he continued. "I'll prove it to you once and for all. I'm gonna be the number one hero, and you're gonna be in my dust."
Izuku looks at his clenched fist with a determined expression.
"Yeah, I'll work as hard as I have to until this power is truly mine." He lowers his arm and looks back up at Izuku. "And then I'll be the greatest hero in the world!"
"Yeah, whatever. I'm gonna be greater than the greatest."
During our little chat, we heard a voice from behind us.
"Excuse me." We all turned around and saw Katsuma, standing under a street light.
"Katsuma, why are you here?" Izuku questioned the boy.
Katsuma lowered his head and hesitated.
"Um, to tell you that..." He quickly raised his head back up to look at us. "... there's a villian!"
"What!?" I gasped.
"A villian, where--?" Katsuki pushed Izuku out of the way before he could finish his sentence.
"All right, brat, start talking!" Katsuki ordered.
Katsuma told us that the villain turned himself into a giant mantis, and that he's in the island ruins. I immediately put Katsuma on my back and the four of us made our way to the island ruins. Katsuki wasn't too thrilled that Izuku tagged along, but I told him we might need back up. Just like Katsuma said, the villian at the ruins has the appearance of a huge mantis; he forgot to mention that it looked funny.
"Katsuma, you stay back with Deku!" I put the little boy down and he took some steps back. "Let's go, Katsuki!"
"Right!"
Katsuki and I used our Quirks to fly up to the villain's head.
"Stun Grenade!" Katsuki creates a large flash of light to blind the giant mantis. The strangest thing happened...it didn't react to the bright light at all. That's not the only thing odd about the weird mantis. Katsuki and I also noticed that it didn't have a shadow! We instantly figured out what this large mantis really is. The two of us came back to the ground, giving the enormous insect a chance to attack us. When the claw of the giant bug struck us, we didn't feel anything. No sharp pain, no weight, no touch, nothing. It just phased through us. Katsuki then generates a huge explosion on the ground that makes a little girl fall from her hiding place. The giant mantis disappears, confirming our suspicions that the monster was a fake. I stared at the little girl that's was hiding until I recognized her.
"That's Mahoro!" I gasped. "The girl that was behind those fake reports!"
"Hey, that hurt. No fair." Mahoro rubbed her but in pain. "That thing was way scary and you two just stood there!"
Oh. My. God! This girl is unbelievable! I thought she learned her lesson when I scolded her! I bet she used her Quirk to make that illusion.
"So, I'm guessing you're the idiot who made that illusion?" Katsuki interrogated the little girl. She flinched at his words.
"Um, how did you know that it was an illusion?" Mahoro yelped, avoiding eye contact with Katsuki.
"Cause we're not stupid! It didn't have a shadow. So, you little brat. Is taunting heroes a hobby of yours? Well?"
Mahoro whimpers and crawled backwards away from Katsuki in fear. His anger rose with each sentence.
"Your cheap tricks won't work on me, 'cause I'm not like any hero you've met before. You're looking at the next number one. The guy who'll be better than All Might was in his prime. The name's Katsuki Bakugou. I'm telling you right now, kid, you picked the wrong person to mess with!"
"Um." Katsuma nervously walks up to my boyfriend. "Please don't yell at my big sister, sir."
"Huh?" Katsuki glares down angrily at Katsuma, making the boy yelp with fright. "You were in on it, too, weren't you? Come here!"
Before Katsuki did anything irrational, I trapped him in my Aqua Lock.
"...uh, th-thank you, Miss--"
I didn't let Katsuma finish his sentence as I pushed his sister's head. Now, the two kids have my wrath to worry about.
"Just because I put my boyfriend in an orb of water doesn't mean you both are off the hook!" I pointed a finger at Mahoro. "Why the heck are you still pranking heroes and dragging your little brother into them!? You're the older sibling, so you should already know what's right and what's wrong without someone having to yell at you to get the message into that obnoxious head of yours! You better get your act together, or else--!"
"Stop!" Izuku held me back before I could continue. "They're just kids, Himawari!"
"Will you let go of me, Izuku! This is the third time they faked an emergency!!"
While Izuku and I were arguing, Katsuki was able to free himself from my Aqua Lock, but I immediately restrained him with my Aqua Chains. Because the three of us are so engaged in our quarrel, we didn't notice Mahoro and Katsuma leave the scene.

The next day, I sat outside on the veranda of the UA Hero Agency, drinking my glass of iced tea while trying to forget about those brats from yesterday. Seriously, what is wrong with those two!? Eri is around the same age as them and she's an angel! Do Katsuma and Mahoro like to cause trouble after getting chewed out? Twice? As I thought about the kids from yesterday, I heard Izuku talk to Mahoro from below. Katsuki joined me on the veranda with a popsicle and we eavesdropped on their conversation. Katsuma came to apologize for what he and his sister did. Katsuma also wants to be a hero when he grows up, but Mahoro is worried about her little brother. I don't know if she really does hate heroes or not, though. After Katsuma finished talking to Izuku and left, Mrs. Suzumura showed up and told Izuku an important fact about the two kids. She said that Katsuma and Mahoro lost their mother at a young age, and their father's away for work so often. The siblings are always on their own a lot, and the neighborhood looks after them the best they can. I didn't stick around to hear the rest of the conversation and just went inside with my finished ice tea.
"You thinking about those brats?" Katsuki asked me from behind after he threw away his popsicle stick. I sighed.
"After learning about them... I feel like I was too hard on Katsuma and Mahoro." I set my empty glass down on a table. "Maybe I should have been more calm... or maybe I shouldn't have hit them and raised my voice when I scolded them."
"If you didn't raise your voice and scold them, I doubt that boy would've come to say sorry." Katsuki hugged me from behind. "Besides, you didn't know about their situation until now."
Katsuki does have a point. I wish Mahoro came with her brother to apologize to us, though.
"Come on." Katsuki unwraps is arms around me and takes my hand. "Let's go put on our Hero costumes and get to work. And don't leave your glass on the table!"
I chuckled and picked up the glass I drank from.
"You know, running a hero agency with our friends and doing all these jobs, it's a great experience for when you and I open our own hero agency."
Katsuki looked at me with a surprised expression, but he isn't against the idea.
"Yeah." He turns his blushing face away from me, squeezing my hand. Not enough to hurt me, though. "But when we do, we are not doing any lame-ass jobs."
"Well, get ready to do a few more "lame-ass jobs" today, Blasty." I teased.
