Jungle trouble

It's been a week since the train accident.We still haven't reached Lava town.And worse than that, we've ran out of food.

Luna lead us with the map in her hands.According to her,Lava town is 20 km away.We were too exhausted to walk such a long way. Vapid was panting a lot and Hadean have been moaning for a while saying that he was hungry.Veson seemed exhausted and I'm at my limit too.

Then,Luna pointed towards the horizon and said that there was a forest ahead.There might be fruits which we could eat.We ran towards the forest hoping to find food.The sun beat down on us.After walking half an hour,we reached the forest.

It felt good to be in the shade.We looked around to find something edible. But we were disappointed.There wasn't a single fruit on the trees.That made me even more hungry.

We sat down not knowing what to do.All of a sudden, a loud whine of a cat echoed through the forest. Though it sounded more like a human's howl. We jumped onto our feet.We looked around,cautiously.Vapid told us to take out our weapons.I stretched my shadow,and solidified it into shadow bow and arrow.I looked around to see others ready to attack with their weapons out.We looked around to find who it was or what it was.

"What do you want humans?" :The voice echoed from every direction.

We were unable to find the origin of sound.It was kind of creepy.

Suddenly Hadean called out to us pointing towards a tree.We looked above to see someone standing on a tall tree branch.It was so high that we could barely see her.

"Who are you?": I yelled.

All of a sudden she jumped down from there and landed safely on her four limbs.We were startled to see that.If a normal person jumped from there, he will have his bones doubled.

In the dim light,we could see her clearly now. She was way younger than us with messy,long,yellow hair and glowing yellow eyes.She was wearing torn out rags which weren't mend for years.It was clear from her appearance that she was living in the forest for years.But she wasn't a normal human. She had two cat ears on her head and a tail waving around.A cat-girl?

We stood there,baffled.She was really quick. Our eyes could barely keep up with her speed. She ran like a wild animal on her four limbs. In an instant, she captured Vapid.He was lying down with his hands locked behind by her arms. He layed there confused, unable to move.

The cat-girl said with a giggle:

"Well,well, what've we got here.I really wanted a pet and he's perfect."

She giggled again.

We have to save Vapid from her clutches.But I don't want to hurt a kid.I shot an arrow just near her hoping that she would dodge it and that would give Vapid a chance to escape.As expected, she jumped aside and Vapid escaped.

She gave me a fierce look and came rushing towards me.In a second I was pinned on the ground with my hands pinned on the ground by her arms.I couldn't move.The cat-girl looked furious.

Her nails was too long and sharp that it pierced into my flesh and plunged in deeper.I cried out in pain. Blood gushed out from the wound.

Vapid took his water sword and swinged it at her.The cat-girl jumped to one of the tree branches. Luna came rushing to heal me. But the cat-girl didn't allowed her. Just a kick from her sent Luna flying and knocked her out. Hadean ran towards Luna to help her. Vapid rushed towards the cat-girl with his sword in hand.

Suddenly,a loud roar echoed throughout the forest.Was it a lion? The cat-girl rushed to where the roar came clinging on the branches shouting: "Leo! " again and again.

Vapid came rushing to me,extremely worried.I said to him that I was fine.But the blood won't stop.I never knew that spirits had blood. Luna is unconscious and can't heal me.

I was about to stand up saying I was fine when Vapid torn a piece from his shirt and held my hand to look at the wound.He wrapped the piece of cloth around my wound.It helped to stop the bleeding.By my worried look, Vapid said with a calm smile:

"We can buy a new shirt ,but we can't buy a new Gabria if something happened to you, can we? At least let me do this.I couldn't protect you last time."

He was worried.I said calmly:

"That's not true.You tried your best.If you weren't here I might have lost my arms."

Vapid smiled at me.I was really happy. But my heart felt as if someone was squeezing it.What's this feeling.My face felt hot.For some reason I was really happy.

We couldn't go on with Luna in this state.We decided to stay there until she woke up.We rested on the cool grass.I could hear the birds chirping. But we were really hungry.I hope Luna wakes up soon and we can get going. Hadean sat by her side.Veson crawled down.Was he asleep?
