ARC 3 part 2 The Elementals of Zethros

Jaina smiles "I can see it, it was much farther away than I expected to be honest"

Daiman nods "yeah well at least were close arent we"

Jaina notices wolfs and deers passing through the forest.

Jaina looks suspiciously at the deer and noticed a deformation on its leg

Daiman looked at deer "we would have to come close to know what it is, but if I were to guess id say it could be wound from ice pieces"

Jaina "I'm not so sure it looks too big for that"

Jaina and Daiman proceed down the road and notice a corpse of a bear, it stunk pretty bad but there was something off about it

Jaina checked its right side and noticed it doesn't have any fur at all and that large part of its skin is green there

Daiman takes a step back " that is not normal"

Jaina gets closer to the corpse

Daiman looks at Jaina and looks worried "what are you doing don't touch it"

Jaina looks close at it "relax I'm just checking it out if I had a dagger and a bag I would have taken a sample"

Daiman nods "I guess that's a good idea, maybe doctors in town would figure out something we missed"

Jaina smiles and gets up "exactly well just have to come back here later"

Daiman looks like he is about to puke " let's hurry up please I don't know how you can take this smell

Jaina laughs "ah alright sorry let's get going, also being raised on partially on the taught me few things"

Daiman looks down "you know I know you don't like to talk about it but how was it on the streets you know"

Jaina looks down "I guess I would have had to talk about it sooner or later anyways"

Jaina looked at Daiman " it was hard mostly I had to relly on my own, back then I was with a guy only known as Will, he was hoping I would grow up into his loyal lackey

Daiman looks at her very curiously "how was it with him"

Jaina sighed "it was bad he tried all he could to tie me completely to himself there were others as well "

Jaina looks sad " he was selling drugs and he kept people and the kids tied to him"

Daiman "I'm assuming he tried to get you into than"

Jaina nods "I didn't know what drugs exactly were, but I could see they were awful"

Daiman was relieved that they got far away from the bear, which made the smell tolerable, but he decided to not show the relief and stay focused on what Jaina was talking about.

Jaina "honestly I hardly felt sorry for them at the time, I mean most of them were doing it behind their family's backs "

Jaina gets angry "wasting their families hard-earned money"

Jaina then seriously looks at Daiman "from I have seen while in and out of the family the world is cruel "

Jaina then smiles and looks forward " but not unforgiving, when I was on the street and even after I was adopted I looked and spied admittedly but for the sake of learning"

Daiman laughs and looks at Jaina "and what did you learn"

Jaina closes her eyes and confidently smiles " well I learned a lot about being a handyman or in my case handywoman, other than the obvious cooking I'm decent at repairing ships I always in alchemy but I never actually managed to learn about it"

Daiman looks curious "I was always curious about why were you interested in it"

Jaina smiles and looks at Daiman" well I find alchemy to be very entertaining, think of all things we can do with it bro create blue fire create crystal decorations eruptions and even scientist was able to cause mutations with it"

Jaina was very excited "but I'm getting off-topic in the end Will got captured by Police"

Daiman "Huh how was he caught"

Jaina laughed "I'm glad you asked he kept me close to him, but he thought I was just little stupid kid so I ended up leaving the traces for police to caught up"

Jaina looked at Daiman with warm smiled "I was honestly scared back then I thought id spent rest of my life on the street alone, and then Dad came and promised to take me in, of course, he lied to you and kain about the fact that I had to go to police and courthouse for testimony"

Daiman looked up "I guess that's fair, it also explains why you were going out a lot at the time, but honestly, I'm just glad that's settled besides we have bigger issues to worry about"

Jaina nods after 2 minutes they arrive at the town they see the long stone wall stones weren't very well cut and for the most part rough, partially because the village lacks the tools to do so and the weather didn't make it easy either.

Jaina glances over the wall and notices the wooden gates "seems like the gates advance they are opened and closed from inside manually"

Daiman looks at Jaina "I see well let's hope we don't get attacked"

An old 55-year-old looking woman she is 100 years old comes on the of the walls wit hr head only sticking out

She glances down well "that depends on what's your purpose here"

Daiman steps in front and looks at the old woman "we are here to resupply and try to solve an issue this island seems to have since we arrived close to your island we started having the extremely bad weather affecting us

the weather then has begun getting even more stormy and hotter.

Old woman "well alright"

The old woman then turns around and looks down "Oli open the door they will talk to the mayor"

The slowly opens and Jaina and Daiman walk-in and they see a lot of small wooden building with a very big one in the center, there was one tiny building where Oli just walked in

Oli was very tall look like he had 30 years but he was actually 57-years old, he was very muscular he wore a white shirt, black leather jacket, and white pants with a bronze belt, the pocket in his jacket had a small wreck put inside of it, despite him looking very one glance at his hands can show you he works very hard he had blonde hair medium length straight and green eyes he looked relax and the weather seemed not to affect him as if he's used to it

The office he was in, on the other hand, looked very uncomfortable to work at.

Jaina looks at where Oli entered "poor guy couldn't they made his workplace more comfortable"

Daiman "I'm sure they tried but after all the weather here is very unpredictable and they are poor"

Jaina smiles " maybe we could try to help him later"

Daiman "lets first see how bad the situation with weather is then I will think about it "

they go through the streets and see people going around men were dressed very similarly to Oli, meanwhile woman wore long or short dresses, it seems people here wear outfits that are best for weather condition such as this and try to spend as little time as they can outside

Jaina noticed a lot of damage from the weather in the city as well, especially on roofs.

Jaina and Daiman walked into a large wooden building which seems to be one of few with multiple floors, it also has a kingdoms flag on it, although the flag is damaged seems little burnt, the building from the front has a few windows with the flowers visible from the inside

After Jaina and Daiman enter the large building the see few pictures on the wall of previous mayors, there's a red carpet and 1 door upstairs and 1 door downstairs.

They hear the voice coming from door downstairs "come in please"

Jaina and Daiman enter and then they see the Mayor he was an old man with white hair, he looks like he has 70 years but he is 160 years he has long mustaches go on all the way to cheeks and then takes a turn with it pointing upwards, he wears a black suit with yellow scraps showing off from pocket ,on his chest he had short white hair, he wasn't muscular but he looked very and he wore glasses while holding a book in his left hand, the glasses very big and round, his pants where black as well he looked overall very uptight and Sirius.

Mayor narrowed gaze and looked at Jaina and Daiman "who are you and why are you here"

Daiman smiled "we were told by the old lady to come here and talk to you about the issue "

Mayor put a hand on his head and sighed " I told her countless times to not send outsiders here, this is our problem which probably will never be solved"

Jaina smiles and takes a step forward showing confidence " perhaps will have better luck than others"

Mayor sat on his chair "it is not that simple unfortunately, many have tried and died I don't want any more pointless deaths to happen"

Daiman nods "I understand that Mayor but we will not end up like the rest "

Mayor looks up at Daiman "don't kill yourself with trying, please "

Jaina smiled and stepped forward "that's a given sir"

Mayor smirks and leans forward "well if that's the case, I guess I can't convince you to give up"

Jaina nods "beside it's our problem as well now our ship is stuck"

Mayor looks at them and after widening his gaze a bit " alright then, I accept your help"

Daiman " perhaps we could start by piecing together clues from previous attempts"

Mayor looked around the table, and then pulled the chair back and open the drawer next to the wall " all the notes and discoveries are put here, I guess all I can say now is good luck"

Jaina smiles "also my name is Jaina and this is my brother Daiman

Mayor nods and smiles "my name is David T Peterson, it's nice to meet you both"

Middle-aged Woman comes burgeoning in "David"

She looks pretty frustrated she notices Daiman and Jaina, but she addresses Mayor David first "Tell your people to stop leaving those infected corpses around, the last thing we need is it spreading more than it already did"

The woman looks like she's 32 years old (she is 64 years old ) shes clearly not from this island as well, she has well straight mid-length black hair that's very well taken care of, she has 1 longer bang on the left side of her face close to her eyebrows and lot of smaller ones on right side of her face, she had dark blue eyes, pointy face, and slim figure she wears a white shirt with green stripes and dark green jacket which had tailor of the black rose on it, the black rose was placed close to her neck, on her chest she a had pocket with napkin on it and something hidden in there out of others sight, she wore a short dress and a long socks, which looked a lot closer to gothic style.

She smiles and looks at Daiman and Jaina curiously "hm seems like I'm not the only visitor around, but it seems they are pirates"

Mayor David widens his look but woman eases him " they are not those kinds of pirates if they were here to pillage you wouldn't talking"

Mayor David sighs " I guess I jumped the gun, I'm sorry but understand things have been a lot more difficult now then they were before" he hands them over a bunch of papers

The woman smiles and shakes Daiman and Jainas hand "My names Lilith it's nice to meet you"

Jaina smiles "same here my name is Jaina and this is my brother Daiman"

Lilith nods "will talk later, ill you 2 outside after you finish your business with Mayor"

Daiman turns "you have it rough here sir I understand"

Mayor David smiled "this all, for now, if you need anything else Lilith is much better equipt to help you then I am"

Jaina nods "In that case, let's get started, bro"

Daiman and Jaina exit and Mayor David shows a faint smile as he watches them leave.

Daiman and Jaina look around the wooden building.

Jaina looks at Portraits "looks like this colony has been led By Peterson Family for many years"

Daiman comes closer "I can imagine that's why didn't give up on it"

Jaina smiles " His somewhat like us after all"

Daiman looks determined and remembers all he lost "In that case, let's prevent another disaster from happening so soon"

Lilith comes in and smiles "in that case, come with me"

Daiman looks surprised "wait where are we going"

Lilith turns around and puts a hand on her wrist "to the storage, of course, I doubt you'd stop here if you didn't need resupply, so well start from there"

Jaina smirks and follows her "seems like we can't hide anything from you then"

Jaina and Daiman follow Lilith they head behind the Town Hall, and exit through back entry.

After that that they to the south end of the town, along the way they see a lot of people whispering

wondering about Jaina and Daiman

Lilith smiles "its rare sight to see outsider here nowadays because of the weather"

Daiman nods "I can imagine"

After they finish walking through the streets they reach the big building and Lilith unlocks the door and enters it.

Daiman looks around sees people ignoring them for time being.

Jaina looks at him "let's finish shopping first bro, and go back to solving the mystery"

Daiman whispers "I'm just puzzled why they aren't being suspicious"

After they enter they see shop form the inside with basement being locked

Jainas eyes open as she sees its actually a shop from the inside.

Lilith then takes them to the basement

Jaina looks confused "where are we going"

Lilith looks at Jaina "It's better not to do smuggling up there"

Daiman was a bit surprised "well seems like we had a like we hit just we found just want we needed"

Lilith hands them over paper and pen and winks "write down all you need and ill get it for you, and if you need anything specific feel free to ask"

Jaina and Daiman started writing down everything they needed, they start debating as they write down all the food materials they need

Daiman looks at Jaina "that's all is it right "

Jaina looks annoyed "firstly we don't need all those maps just buy the one we need and that's it "

Daiman sighs "it doesn't hurt to have multiple you know "

Jaina looks frustrated.

Daiman looks annoyed "fine" then he looks curiously at Jaina "by the way didn't you say you wanted to get some books"

Lilith smiles and looks at Jaina " I got plenty which one do you need"

Jaina widens her looks " I'll need the book which would help me learn the basics of alchemy, a book about repairing ships and cooking recipe book"

Lilith turns around to the boxes surprised by Jainas question "most of the peopel ask for something lot rarer books, but I have ones you need just come with me"

Jaina smiles confidently "there's no point going out there if I don't know everything I need to survive "

Lilith smirks and hands her over the book "good thinking, but be careful out there elementals can be dangerous, especially if you don't know magic or don't have any protection against it"

Jaina looks down "yeah I was thinking about that"

Lilith smiles "I could make blessed items for you for free if you bring me everything I need for it"

Jaina looks interested "sounds like a good deal, what do you need"

Lilith "4 pieces affected by elemental magic and any item"

Lilith takes the paper and writes down everything " anyway let's go to your captain"

Daiman gets up from the chair and hands over " that's all we need "

Lilith smiles "well this sounds like a very nice ship"

Daiman looks a bit uncomfortable "Uhm thank you"

Lilith laughs and pats him "seems like you weren't expecting that don't get uncomfortable about it, most of the pirate ships are stole anyways, anyway help me fill up the wagon"

Jaina smiles "so you're going to transport it to our ship"

Lilith "of course walking there own your own back and forth would have taken forever after all"
