Gold Coins

"Yuram watch out!!!" shouted Ling Fei upon seeing

Aeshin trying to attack Bai Lu by running so fast towards him.

Seeing Aeshin on the verge of attacking him, a buzzing sound suddenly sounded so loud and sonorous that it made Ling Fei, Lee Gon, and Aeshin cover their ears as they couldn't bear to hear the painful sound.

The buzzing sound was loud enough to make Aeshin immediately leave and disappear because she couldn't bear to hear it.

"What was that sound?"

Lee Gon cast his eyes all over the dark forest.

"Who's that little boy?"

Bai Lu pointed at a wolf-eared little boy who appeared from behind the bushes, then came over to him.

"Yeongwan? Why are you here?"

Ling Fei walked straight up to the wolf-eared child, then lowered her body to be more in line with Yeongwan's body which was shorter than her.

"Noona."

Yeongwan walked over to Bai Lu and ignored Ling Fei who came over to her.

"Noona?" Bai Lu sounded confused as the little kid called her big sister, then came over to her while running.

*Noona is what a younger man calls a woman who is older than him.

Lee Gon walked up to Bai Lu and held her right shoulder as he looked at her gently.

"She's Yeongwan, a half-blood demon. She's half-wolf and half-human. Yeongwan is the little boy you saved from the ghostly spirit of the old lady, who almost harmed us, Yuram. For almost a month now, Yeongwan has been following us around, especially you. She really likes you a lot."

Bai Lu looked at Yeongwan gently and smiled sweetly at her.

"You're such a sweet child. Did that buzzing sound come from you?"

Yeongwan nodded her head then smiled widely. He passed a gold coin towards Bai Lu's hand, after giving it to her he waltzed away.

"Eh, where did he go? Why did he just disappear?" asked Bai Lu glancing to the right and left, looking for Yeongwan the werewolf.

"Yuram, you must continue to hone your skills. We can't protect you forever. Because you also have to protect all of us, protect this sacred waterfall valley."

Ling Fei looked at Bai Lu and asked him to always hone the abilities of the Yuram figure within him.

"We still have a long way to go, Yuram. We must find the sacred red stone before Aeshin and the other gumiho get to it first." Lee Gon added.

"Yes. And, starting today, we are going on a long, endless journey. Through valleys, cliffs, rivers, forests, villages, and other things. We also don't know what we will experience in the future. Because it's possible that on our journey, we'll be killed by whatever we encounter."

Bai Lu looked at the gold coin that was in his palm when Yeongwan gave it to him earlier. The gold coin looked very strange. It was golden in color but did not shine. It was dark in color, yet it seemed to hold something invisible.

"A magic gold coin?" repeated Bai Lu who looked amazed and took a good look at the gold coin.

"That magic gold coin can actually be the center of attention and a source of conflict. Some people might try to obtain this coin for their own benefit, while others might try to protect this coin from people who want to misuse it. This is because the magical gold coin is an object that possesses extraordinary magical powers. It has the ability to fulfill the owner's wishes. When someone holds the magic gold coin and utters their wish, the coin will magically make that wish come true," Ling Fei continued to explain in considerable detail.

"Is that true?" asked Bai Lu incredulously.

Ling Fei nodded his head and Lee Gon also confirmed what his brother had explained.

"However, the power of this magic gold coin is not without consequences. Every time someone uses the coins to fulfill their wishes, there is a price to pay. This price could be losing something important to the owner or even experiencing changes in themselves," Lee Gon continued.

Bai Lu nodded his head. However, while re-examining the gold coin, he felt something strange in the coin. Like there were unusual things that could possibly be extraordinary.

"This coin looks strange!" exclaimed Bai Lu feeling astonished and confused.

"Why?"

Ling Fei walked over to Bai Lu who was looking at the magic gold coin in his palm.

"Isn't this gold coin very strange and unusual?" exclaimed Bai Lu again.

Ling Fei took the gold coin that was in Bai Lu's hand to examine it then held it up high. His two eyeballs began to narrow as he watched the gold coin closely.

"Take a look, it looks like something is moving inside the coin."

Lee Gon looked so enthusiastic when he managed to find something moving inside the gold coin.

"Doesn't it look like a map?" said Bai Lu, which made Lee Gon and Ling Fei agree to what she said just now..

"A map? Doesn't it look like a map of the sacred waterfall valley," said Lee Gon to Ling Fei and Bai Lu's surprise as they looked closely at the gold coin, and found that it did indeed look like a map of the region.

"Where did Yeongwan get this gold coin? Why would she get a valuable coin like this? This coin is like a rare coin that hardly anyone knows about. I think this coin is just to fulfill the owner's wish. Is there an ulterior motive for this coin's existence?" asked a confused Ling Fei who still didn't understand the purpose of Yeongwan giving this gold coin to Bai Lu.

"The gold coin will help the three of you in your endless journey to find the sacred red stone that you have been searching for."

Ling Fei, Lee Gon as well as Bai Lu immediately glanced towards the source of the voice.

"Who are you?" asked Ling Fei curiously when she saw the figure of a two-braided woman, who suddenly appeared from behind a tree.

"I'm Asahi, the guardian of the sacred tree in Yeongdam forest," she replied in a firm and round voice.
