The Last Demon Slayer

A loud banging sound could be heard from the trunk of an old car that was parked inside an abandoned warehouse. The inhumane rocking of the car was accompanied by a muffled scream. "Shhh... Be quiet..." One said as she slowly opened the trunk and pulled the poor lady out from it. The two suspicious characters that were wearing clown masks tied the poor lady in the middle of the floor where a big pentagram was scribbled. "MSHGGSKKSSSSH!!!!" The poor lady made a desperate attempt to scream but it was to no avail. One of her assailants had the heart to remove her gag but the first thing that she asked as soon as it was removed was, "Is this a prank??? I know it was you, Cassie. That shirt is mine." As soon as she heard her name, Cassie removed her mask. "Ana, don't panic. We will just exorcise you, okay? Calm down. After all of this is done, we could just all pretend that none of this ever happened in the first place." "What?!!!!!! You're crazy, Cassie!" "NO! Look, you tried to strangle me with a belt last night. But don't worry because I don't blame you for that. You were possessed and right now we will exorcise that demon out from your body." "No-----mmmpphhhh" Before the lady named Ana could even speak another word of protest, Cassie already gagged her again with that same piece of cloth that they used before. "So what are we gonna do next?" "You have to pee on her?" "No way! I would never pee on my best friend! Jared, that's insane!" "Then let us just all forget about this whole exorcism thing then because it was clearly written here. Instruction No.1. You have to mark the subject with your own scent." Ana

After that long and crazy day, Cassie decided to go home to her apartment where she and her friend, Ana, used to live.

"I'll go and take a bath."

She told Ana the moment they were inside then she headed to her room and prepared to get change.

As soon as she got home, Cassie decided to step straight to the shower room right away. Hoping that by doing so, it would wash away all the bad luck that she had gone through the entire week.

Meanwhile, Ana remained silent. She had been acting like that ever since the accident. But Cassie did not pay it much of a heed, thinking that it was probably just because of the other party's shock. After all, it was not like they ran over and kill someone on a daily basis.

"The fact that she indirectly claimed someone else's life must have shaken her in her core."

Cassie thought to herself as she looked at Ana, who was at this point, closing the door behind her as she went inside her own room.

Cassie was not sure what to say or what she should do to comfort her friend, so she just gave the other party some space in the meantime. Besides it was not like she did not have her own worries and thoughts to sort for.

The fact that some unknown entity was not only after her life and was calling her a seer was something that Cassie could still not comprehend yet. No matter how hard she tried to wrap her head around it, she simply could not understand why all of it has to happen to her.

"Haaaaayyy...."

Stepping inside the shower, Cassie immediately let out a deep and contented sigh the moment the water fell on her skin; the earlier concerns that has been bugging her person out were momentarily put at the back of her mind as she drenched herself with a hot bath.

For a moment, the apartment turned silent as the two girls busied themselves minding their own businesses; that if not for the sound of the running water, the place would probably be as good as a dead silent.

Cassie, on the other hand, took her time in the shower and when she got out her shower room, she instantly felt refreshed.

With her feet still wet and face dripping with water, Cassie crossed her room and went to her vanity mirror to check herself. She was busy scrutinizing every fine lines and pimple marks there were in her face when she heard someone knocking on her door.

"Ana?"

She looked over her shoulder and asked.

"Yes, it's me."

The voice answered from the other side of the door.

Cassie, who was at this point was wearing nothing but a piece of towel that was wrapped around her body decided to pick the fresh set of pajamas that was lying on her bed.

"Good thing that I prepared something to wear beforehand, prior to taking a shower."

She commended herself internally as she started to get dress and then as soon as she was done, she unlocked her door afterward and casually opened it for her good friend.

From the way she reacted, it was not that hard to infer that they often visit each other's room in the middle of the night. That was why, Cassie did not seem surprised anymore when all of a sudden, Ana came knocking on her door.

It was clear for all eyes to see that she was already used to it and without checking on Ana, Cassie returned to her seat to continue what she was doing.

"Maybe we should have gone to the hospital to have you checked. Don't you think so?"

Cassie suggested out of nowhere. But then she after a minute had passed since she opened the door, she noticed that there was still no movement from behind her. For some reason, she found it weird so she slowly turned her head to the direction where her door was and there she saw Ana standing right outside her room.

Ana framed the open doorway with her body and rather than coming in just like what she would normally do, she just remained standing on the same spot as if she was waiting for something and all though the other party was standing in the dim light of the corridor, Cassie could tell that her friend was fixated on her face.

"Is everything okay???"

She asked her and Ana replied with a drawl, "Yeah..."

"Err??? Okay..."

Cassie whispered as she was starting to get weird out by how Ana was acting.

"Everything is good on my end. Can I come in?"

The other party added afterward and Cassie mumbled her answer.

"Sure."

The next chapter will be released on Friday. So stay tuned...
