Father Figure

As the men and women charged into battle, massive arrows bolted in from the skies releasing a deadly mist. The green gas incapacitated whoever breathes it in and slowly takes all of the oxygen out of their lungs. Many were crushed by arrows, boulders, and a landslide that occurred at the edge of battle, but even more were killed from the mist.

Xia and Hasir look over the battlefield and Hasir is paralyzed in fear. The death, the pain, and the suffering he was witnessing nearly broke him.

"Hey! Look at me! If you keep getting shocked like that, you'll never make it out alive. I want you to remember something as we fight. You are not the strongest, nor are you the weakest. You are not a hero, you are not a villain. You are you, and you will keep fighting for you. Don't think about anyone else, just focus on yourself and you'll make it out alive. Now let's go." Xia and Hasir descend and exit the walls of their fortress. Multiple people on horses then showed up and whistled as they rode past them. 2 massive mantaray-like creatures emerged from the other side of the mountain and mowed down on the enemies.

"This is our chance, run!" Xia gives Hasir a slight push and he sprints into the fight. Xia follows behind but turns into a ball of mist and stays above Hasir's head. A man swings his sword down on Hasir but he parries with his gun, throat punches him, then finishes him with a bullet to the dome.

"Oh shit!" Hasir stared at the dead man and he nearly threw up. His stomach turned and he began to gag. He stopped himself but was then trampled over by an entire cavalry fleet. He protected his head and vital organs but his left arm got dislocated and then his humorous fractured, nothing funny about that. He slumped up and ran into the enemies at full speed. Multiple massive roots then sprouted from the edge of the battle and came crashing down on Hasir.

"Arch Wizards? Fuck..." Xia didn't think they'd use arch Wizards so early but if they wanted to win fast, of course they would. She tried to think of a way to escape but by the time she started thinking, Hasir had already started to claw his way out.

"Ahh! These fucking roots! Ignition!" There was a small blast of plasma which instantly burned away the roots and let Hasir escape but Xia got trapped in.

"Fuck." Xia turned back into her human form and unsheathed her sword. She raised it to the sky and started to say, "By the will of the gods I will extinguish your hate and rage for you may seek peace and solitude in the afterlife. Now, may I slay the profane form of my enemies and seek in aiding my allies." He sword ignited in a green glow. The glowing grew to an enormous blade which Xia promptly slammed down and swung it around her axis. This only harmed the enemies and regenerated her allie's injuries. "Hasir! Run! Run you fucking bitch!" Xia's words ignited Hasir and he booked it to the other side. He hopped and leaped from rock to rock as he climbed the mountain side. When he reached the enemy's fortress, hundreds of ballistas pointed at him. He simply raised his hands and entered the fortress. Dozens of soldiers surrounded him as the commander looked down upon him.

"You are far too weak. What is your next decision? Well, whatever it is, it still leads to your death." Hasir looked up and saw Xia fighting someone in the air. She then called out to him.

"Unwrap your bandages!" Hasir gripped his right arm and yanke doff the fabric tying down the engraved mark that Xia drew on him. It was a dragon silhouette surrounded by lightning and death. The clouds darkened above Hasir and a massive bolt of lightning rained down on him. Xia had given him a buff that lasted about 10 minutes and would help him greatly if he didn't want to die during battle. The lightning stopped and Xia landed and created a crater while fighting an arch wizard who wore a black and red robe with a white mask.

"Use your sword and gun at the same time! It'll be better than just using one at a time!" Xia told him as she flew back up into the air. Hasir unsheathed his sword and began fighting the soldiers. Multiple came at him but he swung his blade and shot the commander in the face, killing him instantly. Despite having magical powers and abilities that helped in battle, a fatal blow will still kill anyone. After mowing down the enemies, Hasir busted into a small bunker that they dug out and he was met with 4 men and 3 women. They all wore the same high ranking garments. Knight-like armor with thick capes and extravagant accessories. He soon recognized one of them though. It was a man with long white hair with little facial hair. He had a sharp jawline and his head nearly touched the ceiling. He looked familiar but couldn't really remember until he had his name.

"Hasir, is that you?" The man asked. Memories came rushing back into his head and he finally remembered who this man was, it was Xia's father.

"Mr. Einstein, is this where you've been? Xia told me about you and her mother separating. So why are you attacking us?" Hasir asked.

"Hasir, you've grown so much."

"Answer the fucking question! If I didn't have a drop of sympathy, I would've killed you already. However, I know all too well about a father who...Nevermind." Hasir glared at him and shot down everyone else.

"You're killing without hesitation. You've changed."

"My father selling me off had a part in it. But also years of torment and abuse." Hasir told him.

"You used to be so kind hearted, now look at you. Forced into fighting for something you don't even know about-"

"Shut the fuck up! I trusted that you'd watch out for Xia before I was taken away. When I'm finally freed by Xia, I hear that you left your family. I thought that if I couldn't have a true father, then maybe my friend would. But no! Look at you! You were snuggled up next to a woman when I came in. You selfish bastard!" Hasir yelled as he pressed the barrel against Mr. Einstein's chest.

"Hasir, listen to me. It was for a good cause."

"What could've possibly been good from this?" Hasir cries out in anger.

"Hasir, you may know this but it was very hard to leave them. I wanted Xia to grow up strong and independent. Please hear me out. I have killed myself over leaving them and I still do. All I ask from you is your forgiveness. You have every right to kill me here, so please do so." Mr. Einstein knelt down and lowered his head. Hasir too knelt down, he placed a hand behind his neck and rested his head on his head.

"Yes sir." Hasir whispered softly. He stood back up and readied his blade. He swung down on him with all his might, that's when Xia cried, "Stop!"

A massive explosion disintegrated the area and put Mr.Einstein on the brink of death. Hasir looked down at him and was filled with guilt, "How could Xia ever forgive me for this?"

"No, father." Xia's voice nearly broke Hasir. He stepped back from the body and Xia ran to her father. "Father, c'mon, say something!"

"Xia, please, forgive me for being so selfish."

"I had already forgiven you! I just want my father back!"

"No, I am not fit to be a father. Go, go live life. Go live a long and prosperous life with someone. But please, never make the same mistakes that I did." His head slumped over and tears dripped from Xia's eyes. She stood up and walked over to Hasir who had kept his head down. Xia grabbed him by the neck and slammed him into the ground.

"Why! Why did you do that!" Xia began to pound down on him. He fists smashed into Hasir's face. Hasir promptly blocked her and escaped her but she still fought. "Why!" Xia grabbed him by the shoulder and dug her finger into his flesh and made contact with bone.

"Ack!"

"You fucker! Die!" Xia knocked him down and started to stomp down on him. After Hasir stopped moving, Xia lifted the back of his shirt and erased the slave markings. She walked away and leaped into the air causing a massive shockwave to push away Hasir.

Hasir stared up into the dark cloudy skies and started to weep. He covered his eyes with his forearm and grit his teeth. Not in anger and hatred, but because of the guilt. After a few minutes, he recovered from the mental shock and got back up. He grabbed his gun and sword then decided to take refuge in Velim. He kept his head low and just walked.

Meanwhile in Dilopro, Xia flew back to her home and started to destroy all of Hasir's stuff. After that she hid in her room in a seated fetal position. She cried and cried for hours on end. These were the horrors of war. Death, pain, and betrayal.
