The months passed as Xia got over the death of her father. For weeks on end, the sight of him dying in her arms resonated in her head. She still held resentment towards Hasir for killing and trained for the day that they would meet again because she knew that he would also be doing the same. They knew how each other's minds worked and the thing that would be devastating for both of them is if the other changed how they acted. Both of their plans relied on each other being the same and Xia knew this so couldn't act as reckless as she used to. She would have to be more cautious. She would have to find a way to outsmart the smartest person she knew. The most adaptive person, a weapon of destruction if they ever fall into a world of evil.

"Father, I know this is against your wishes but just know, I will get my revenge." Xia said as she sat down covered in sweat. Sand poured from the punctured punching bag hanging in the middle of the room and her knuckles were all torn up and covered in blood. She was wearing tight leggings and a sports bra. He hair was tight back in a bun and her walls were covered in holes because she would punch them out of frustration.

Meanwhile it was 8 AM in a coastal city known as Fredrickson, Hasir watched as carriages entered and left the city walls. He was sat atop the wall and had a torn up robe covering the same thing he wore during the war. Even he couldn't get over what he did half a year ago. He hated himself not for killing Xia's father, no, but because he hurt Xia. He would beat his mind everyday and this led to his sanity decreasing. Not that he went batshit insane and caused more ruckus, no, he was devoid of all emotion now. He lived off of animals and monsters he hunted and regularly got in trouble with the locals. He also stole from the library to learn more magic and would utilize what he did know to complete regular tasks like getting from place to place. He even learned gravity magic so that he could have slight advantages in fights. He would lie to people and even sometimes had scuffles with the authority. He was no longer that good kid that everyone trusted, no, he was a man whose life was stripped away from him but lost the only thing that cared for him after regaining freedom. Hasir sighed and began to descend but he heard the sirens wailing. He looked back and saw that a dragon had flown straight in the center of the city. A strange sight. But then he looked closer. That was no dragon. It was a leviathan, a red one at that. Leviathans have multiple elements that they can use underwater and their color will indicate which element it is. Red is fire, blue is water, brown is earth, white is air, purple is gravity, and yellow is electricity. There are also much rarer cases where they can control plants, life, and have regenerative properties which all share the same color of green. Hasir didn't want to get involved with things so he decided to head inland.

The city of Fredrickson is located on the eastern side of the coast of Golia. Golia is a country to the south of Dilopro that is just a long strip of lands wide enough to border 3 countries. Dilopro to the north, Velim to the east because Velim stretches from the north of Dilopro down to Golia. Velim is also a strip but is much thicker than Golia. Then there is Yun to the west. It is shaped like a boot and often called the foot of the continent which these countries reside in. Hasir knew that he was heading north into Dilopro which caused some concerns and with the fact he never knew the city he lived in while with Xia. He never left the city and never really went anywhere other than the market a few times. He stayed cautious of where he might be and had his gun loaded but with the safety on. But he also wanted to give Xia something if he did meet her. It was a device that showed his and her every location if they were synced and would alert the other if they were in danger. After hours of walking he finally found civilization. He entered by climbing the walls and dropped down into a forest with thick trees and jagged rocks everywhere. He roamed around and made it out after a few minutes by following a dirt trail. The sun was high above and it glared down on him so he couldn't really see in front of him. He put his hood up but still nothing. He walked endlessly following what part of the trail he could see. A cloud then covered the sun and he could finally see. He looked around and saw a familiar sight. He was right in front of Xia's house.

"Fuck..." He frantically looked around to see where he could go but then he heard the door open and shut. He dug into his pocket and grabbed one of the devices. He turned his head and saw Xia sprinting at him.

"You bitch!" She cried out as she tried to punch him. Hasir dodged and put his hands up.

"Aye aye calm down, I didn't mean to come here but it's good that I did." Hasir told her.

"Don't tell me what to do you fucker!" She unsheathed her sword and started swinging it at him. Hasir pulled out his gun while still keeping the safety on and only used it to block and parry her attacks.

"Please, I'm sorry. But can you please cooperate. I'm trying to tell you something."

"And why should I listen to you." Xia asked.

"Who is the smartest and strongest person you know?" Hasir asked back.

"I hate to admit it but, it's you." She answered.

"Okay, and you are the smartest and strongest person I know. So why don't we help each other without having to see each other?" Hasir proposed.

"And how would we do that?" Xia asked skeptically. Hasir tossed her the device and she widened her eyes.

"How'd you buy one of these?" She asked.

"I didn't, I made that." Hasir told her.

"So you're telling me that you were able to recreate the most advanced piece of technology we have?" Xia interrogated.

"Well not recreated, it can only tell the other's location and what kind of situation they're in. We could help each other like this. I don't travel far, and you're able to get from place to place with flight. I help you, and you help me, just like the old days you know?"

"Your acting is good I will say. You don't need to mask your true self around me." Xia told him.

"I know I don't, it just feels weird not being bright around you." Hasir told her in a much deeper and roughed voice than he was using earlier. "So are you gonna accept it?"

Xia then thought for a minute, "Fine, but you better fight me at your best because right now you don't look like the best."

"Okay then, just put in a drop of blood and toss it back, I'll do the same." Hasir bites the skin from his finger and drops it onto the device. Xia pokes her finger with her sword and does the same. They come closer together and press a button while the devices are in contact and now they can see each other's location.

"Okay, see you around then." Hasir said as he walked away.

"Wait!" Xia called out for him, "Come with me."

"No no, I'd rather not." Hasir rejected.

"Just follow me you asshole." Xia said angrily.

"Okay fine."

The two of them walked side by side down to the markets and Hasir watched as Xia shopped for her groceries. After that they went back to her house and Hasir tried to leave but Xia dragged him back in. Xia put all of her stuff on a table and began to prepare herself some food. She grabbed a small knife and started to chop some vegetables.

"So, umm." Hasir tried to speak but then he really got a good look around the room. There were holes in the walls along with scratch marks and a trail of sand leading to the door. There was also a bunch of dumbbells and metal plates scattered around.

"Wow, there is a lot of water coming from the lettuce you're cutting." Xia's bedroom door was also open and Hasir could see that there was even more of a mess in there. His heart sank and he hit himself in the thigh. "Look I'm sorry for what I did. I- I let my emotions go and I...I fucked up, I know, I fucked up. Please, will you forgive me? I completely understand if you don't and I know it's really rude of me to ask for your forgiveness but will you?" Xia stayed silent as she stopped chopping. "Okay, I'll take my leave then. Have a good day."

Xia dropped her knife and covered her eyes with her hands. The water he saw wasn't water, instead it was her tears. Hasir stepped outside and shut the door behind him but when he did, he heard Xia start crying. He took deep breaths and squatted down trying to calm himself. After a few seconds he got up and started heading into the city. As he walked around, he saw many royal knights who glared at him. Some of them then began to approach him but he flashed his gun and they soon backed off. He bought an apple from an old lady and began to eat it as he left the city.

Soon, months passed again. Both of them had a rough idea of what the other was doing by their location and what the device told them but they still felt anxious.

As Hasir roamed around the fields of Dilopro, he came across a basilisk's den. There were multiple eggs in a small crater which prompted him to slowly back off. He tried to leave but he saw the basilisk come straight for him. He sprints away trying to escape but the basilisk is too fast. He shoots it in the eye and only temporarily stops it. He used all of his bullets up on the creature's head which slowed his down and made it delirious but didn't help much. The thing pounced on him as he was unsheathing his sword and a fang caught his right arm. Hasir swung his blade down on the creature then pushed up whilst jumping and stabbed the sword straight into its skull. He began to feel drowsy and relayed and alert to Xia.

As Xia was in the middle of a ball when she got the alert. She gathered her friends and brought them back to her house to wait and help Hasir when she would bring him back. She jumped up into the air and flew to Hasir as a ball of mist. After a few minutes of flying, she saw his lifeless body lying next to the corpse of a dead basilisk. She flew down and saw that his right arm was bleeding. She took his full upper wearing off to reveal his purple arm. The venom was spreading fast. She ripped a strip of fabric off of the robe and tied it at the base of his shoulder to prevent circulation of the venom into other parts of his body.

"Ah you fucking idiot." She picked him up and brought him back to her house with her friends waiting for them. She ran into her room and her friends followed. Hasir was slightly awake during all this and saw what her friends looked like. They were two women dressed in formal dresses with concerned looks on their faces. One had black hair while the other had white hair. Both of them had blue irises and their skin was both light. Xia placed him on her bed and they began to operate on him.

"He needs anti-venom, can you get one for a basilisk down at the hospital?" The black haired one asked the white haired girl.

"Yeah, just give me a minute." She ran out of the house.

"Ah, you fucking dumbass. Alert me earlier bro what the fuck!" Xia grunted as she wiped the sweat from Hasir's forehead.

"Who is this anyways?" The dark haired girl asked.

"Oh, him? He's just a friend from my childhood." Xia told her.

"Uh huh? Then why do you look so concerned for him even though he's just a friend. You act like if he does diw, you're gonna lose everything."

"Look, he's just a friend okay? Can you please hold him down?" Xia blurted.

"Fuck you man! I am not just a friend to you-Ah! You were crying when I left!" Hasir said through the pain.

"Shut up and stay still you dumbass!" Xia yelled as she grabbed the anti-venom from the white haired girl who walked back in. She stabbed it into his arm and then he passed out.

Hasir woke up to muffled arguing, he could kind of make out what they were saying but he still felt tired.

"I do not like him!" Xia defended herself.

"Then why go through such lengths to help him?" The white haired girl asked.

"Yeah! And also, he said you cried when he left. Why would you cry if he was 'just a friend'?" The black haired girl asked. Hasir sat up with only his pants on and rubbed this eyes and yawned.

"Look, let's ask him." The white haired girl said.

"Okay, ask him."

"Aye, does Xia like you?" She asked Hasir.

"I mean, yeah. Just how she acts and behaves around me, she gotta like me man. Well, that was last year and I haven't seen her much but I don't think her feelings have changed towards me except a bit of hate and resentment." Hasir told them.

"See, even he says that you like him!" The back hair girl blurted as she looked back at Xia.

"Don't listen to him, he's just shitting out of his mouth." Xia told them.

"The fuck is you on about? You literally helped me get healthier after we met at that fucking auction house. If you hadn't done what you did, I wouldn't be here right now and would be who knows where to work for someone who would treat me like shit." Hasir said.

"But-" Xia tried to speak but Hasir interrupted her.

"Bitch, I'm not finished. You took such good care of me when I was in your possession. We even cuddled a few times."

"Well-"

"Shut up! I ain't done talking! You were fucking balling your eyes out like 'wah wah!' You fucking missed me. You missed me being around. So don't spew out this random bullshit of you not liking me. It makes sense for you to like me. I have been with you since childhood."

"How does that correlate?" Xia asked.

"Guys, you're gonna wanna hear this." Xia's friends got closer to be able to hear him. "When I was separated from her 17 years ago, these are the exact words she spoke to me. She said, and I quote, 'I love you Hasir and I will always love you.' Then I was dragged off by these fuckers and put into their carriages as I saw my town burning down." Hasir told him.

"Wait, were you a slave? Because you mentioned an auction house, a town burning, and people dragging you into a carriage." The white haired girl asked.

"Um yeah, I worked under Mr. Gula." But before he could continue he was interrupted by the two girls.

"Oh you poor thing! Did that pig do those disgusting things to you too?" The white haired girl asked as she hugged him.

"I'm so sorry that you had to go through that. It's so sad that people's innocence could be taken away like that." The black haired girl said.

"He didn't do anything to me. I just saw what he did to the others." Hasir told them.

"Oh, well in that case, my name is Carina." The white haired girl told him.

"My bad too, my name is Trista." The black haired girl told him.

"Uh huh."

"Wait, were you bought by Xia?" Trista asked him.

"Oh, yeah. She bought me for 300 kyats." Hasir told them.

"You disgusting monster!" Carina gasped jokingly.

"Yeah!" Trista added in jokingly as well.

"Oh please, I don't own him anymore." Xia said as she sat back in her chair.

"Wait, why'd you let him go?" Trista asked.

"Umm, can I tell them?" Xia asked Hasir.

"Shit man, do what you want." Hasir told her.

"Oh, sorry for his language, this isn't how he usually speaks." Xia said.

"I speak like this to you all the time. Well I do now because you don't own me." Hasir added.

"Anyways, basically my father was an enemy in the war that ended like a few months ago. He was tasked with destroying the enemy's base and he ran into my father. His emotions got the better of him and because of what my father did, he killed him. I know he let him kill him but I lashed out at him and erased the curse mark." Xia explained.

"Y'know, I still got that bruise you left on me when you fucking slammed my head into the rocks." Hasir told her.

"Yeah, I noticed...I'm sorry..." Xia apologized softly while staring down and twiddling her thumbs.

"She definitely likes you." Trista whispered to Hasir.

"I know, she's a bit sadistic though. Nothing wrong with that though. I was literally a submissive bitch for 16 years so I'm used to it by now." Everyone stared at him speechless. "I kinda miss it." He said quietly.

"Okay, moving on!" Xia said loudly, "What did you do after I well...disowned you?" Xia asked.

"Ah, bagged some bad bitches and caused ruckus in Fredrickson." Hasir said jokingly.

"You what!" Xia yelled aggressively as she jumped up from her seat. Her friends immediately stopped her from getting any closer to Hasir but she pushed through and grabbed dhim by his long purple hair.

"I was joking bro! The only ruckus I caused when I flashed my gun at the royal knights!" Hasir said jokingly even though he knew it would get him into deeper trouble, but to him it was entertaining.

"You whore!" Xia then slapped him.

"Ah fuck, that was harder than when you actually tried to kill me. Nice, you got stronger." Hasir kept pushing her.

"You!"

"Okay okay, he's just messing with you. right?" Trista pulled her off of him and got in between them.

"Obviously, I don't go around seeking women. And you know that! So why get so aggressive over a single joke?" Hasir interrogated knowing full well she wouldn't answer honestly.

"I was just worried about you." Xia said as she sat back down in her chair.

"Yeah, she was definitely jealous." Carina whispered to Hasir.

They began to argue again and after half an hour, Xia's friends left.

"Bye!" Xia said as they left. She shut the door behind her and sat down on the floor in front of the door and sighed. "These dumbasses."
