What is he doing? She thought. Has he never seen a Titian before?
Although Rani normally wouldn't think about what the servants were thinking, she could feel their inquisitive glances, and she wanted to pull Rory over and make him stand still. He looked like he was in a trance, and she could hear them gossiping about her strange new guest far into the night. They would think that she was naively bringing in some exotic bird to play with, a new toy to show her father. Of course, he was much more than that, and he had an important mission. He had a heart as big as an elephant, but he had no sense at all of how things were done in her kingdom.

"Rory!-what are you doing?" she hated how her voice betrayed her embarrassment. She swore she could feel the servants snickering and smirking.
